Dayland Dog Park - Chuggy isn't a water dog normally. But he enjoys cooling his paws off.

The first time I brought my dogs here was in the winter when I was desperate. I don't advise it…read morebecause of the Fall stickers/Cockle Burrs and the swampy black mud smell. But Dayland is a different dog park in the Summer! Highly recommended! The sunsets alone bring my wife each evening. Dog walking has been a solo gig, but now it's something we get to do together. The running stream is a great place for my three dogs to cool down. It's from a natural source and is untreated , so there are caution signs of possible parasites and Giardia, but I would expect that if I were to take them to a lake. We try to avoid the West side of the stream as it has some of the black mud smell. The tap and hose are great for rinsing the residue off. There is a 1/4 mile paved asphalt path around the park that great for wheel chairs and keeping track of distances walked. At dusk, it is gently lit by solar path lights creating a nice ambience. Poop bag dispensers are all around, so grab one and watch your dog.

I want to love this dog park. It is huge, with a sidewalk to walk around the whole park. The river…read morein the middle puts a real damper on the whole park. Dogs cool off through their paws, so it's natural while they're playing and running to want to cool off in a river! However, this river has gotten soooo many dogs sick. They have signs up warning against giardia, but as stated before, if your dog is running around it's going to want to cool off. Puts a whole damper on the park. If your dog is a water hater, you'll be fine- the rest of us, maybe stay away!

They have great visual exhibits, labelling placards, and fun interactive activities. 10/10 worth the stop, and I can't believe this place is free to the public. We stopped in here to take some casual iPhone photos as a family since we don't see eachother everyday. (Photography requires a $10 pass) It was the perfect backdrop for what we were doing, and we had a great time exploring the gardens through the park along the way.

The Conservation Garden Park is a wonderful place-both as a (free) garden to stroll through that's…read moreeven kid friendly, PLUS a valuable educational resource for all things landscape and water conservation. If you're doing any installation or modification to your yard, this should be your first stop in drafting a plan. They have a mock "house" with a front and back yard installed to see life sized examples of what a water-wise yard could look like. They also have a pathway with different park strip models to get ideas on how you could "flip your strip" from all grass to anything from rock to varieties of plants. It's truly remarkable and such a great way to see something tangible rather than just a rendering on paper. In addition to the educational gardens, there are staff members who are trained and passionate about landscape design, functionality, water conservation and horticulture-and everything in between. They can suggest the best watering system or the right category of plants to consider for your yard based on what you want (function, aesthetic, sturdiness, etc.) If you think that water conservation means rocks and cactus in your yard, think again. That's an option, sure, but these folks have put in a ton of effort to research and educate the public on alternative options. I left here after a tour super excited and inspired about what we can do in our local communities to beautify our landscape while being mindful about our most precious resource-water. Make a visit today!

It's in a beautiful location, higher up on the hill and provides you with some breathtaking views. We love how well kept the courts are and it doesn't seem to be as busy as some of the other ones in the valley (cough cough steer clear of the courts in Murray). Plenty of parking, plenty of open grass to run and play in, and it's right off Bangerter Highway--if you keep driving the windy road, you'll end up in Highland/Lehi area and that's beautiful too. I haven't seen any drinking fountains near the courts, but that's not to say they're not near the pavilions or park equipment--but I'd rather be safe than sorry and pack some extra water bottles. All in all, one of my new favorite areas. I can't wait to pack a picnic and return again soon! TIPS & TRICKS: * Lots of shade and benches, but you still don't want to forget sunscreen. * Because of the location, it's much more windy than normal, so be prepared to run a little harder!

The park is well maintained. There's also walking trails around the park. There's a pavilion, baseball park, and restrooms available for use. We will definitely be back to come play again.
