Phenomenal Service! I had a dropper post for which I needed a tool that had not arrived yet so I couldn't finish the install. I had a 2-day skills clinic early the next day so on a Friday afternoon the shop tech (Ryan) not only cut my cable to length, which is all I dared to ask for, but he finished the dropper install so much faster than I could have done it. I had been a customer of this shop many years ago, but stopped riding for several years. I'm riding a fairly obsolete bike and thought these guys might be able to help since I purchased it there back in 2014. I met with a mechanic named Jaxon, He dived into my problem and had it solved in minutes. Yes parts had to be ordered, but he put my bike back together so I could ride it til they arrive. This type of service is rare these days and I wanted to thank him personally. I was very stressed out, becuase I thought I was looking at a new bike. His knowlege about the bike made me feel confident that a few parts will have me back on the road like new. I highly recommend this shop, there great. They were helpful, kind and they did a great job helping me find a bike at my price point instead trying to upsell. I have returned for accessories (new seat and helmet). The staff are all consistently helpful and they never rush you even when close to closing time. i want to specifically point out the extra special care provided by Jackson and Nick on my first visit where they not only changed my tire but took the time to explain the process and let me give it a try. on my 2nd visit Cody provided excellent, prompt bike service and Mark was quite patient as I tried on multiple shoes. I had an unusually negative experience at this business several years ago but thought I would give it another try and see if my experience would be different. I am pleased to say that the experience was truly incredible and I would give more than 5 stars if possible. I bought a used bike last week for my son through the classifieds. He was so anxious to ride it but it needed some work. I called Hangar 15 in the morning and they confirmed they had the shoes we needed in stock. I didn't call any other stores since I felt I needed to give them an opportunity to win back my patronage and to try a fresh start. They also committed to installing pedals immediately if we purchased them at the store and confirmed the correct version of speedplays were in stock over the phone. This was a big deal since it normally would have taken several days. We drove down less than an hour later and they treated my teenage son who is very new to cycling like royalty. Pedals installed, shoes fitted... they even put new handlebar tape on the bike and put it on a trainer so he could learn to clip in and clip out of the new pedals. The store was busy but they gave us the personal touch and professional treatment. We rode 40 miles the next day from the Murdoch trail up to Bridal Veil falls in Provo canyon and back. I was very very impressed. The store staff was active, professional, and paid attention to detail. I will go to them first if I need bike stuff... we have five kids and a garage full of bikes. I thought I was getting to this store an hour before closing, but apparently they have 'winter hours', so I actually walked in the door about 5 minutes before closing. I was immediately approached and I verified the early close time, but asked if perhaps he could answer just a few quick questions. I'm preparing for a sprint tri, but have yet to actually get on a real bike and had little idea about how it all works. The guy was way more than helpful. He answered all of my questions with a smile, in detail, showed me the different bikes, price ranges, features, had me hop on one to test for size and invited me back to test ride a few. He clearly loves biking and talking about biking and his enthusiasm was contagious. It all only took about 15 min, but it was past closing time and he wasn't at all put out. I still not super well versed, but he mentioned they are one of the few dealers that carried so many lines of bikes. I think that was it. Their low end models were Specialized, starting around $700. When I am ready to buy a new bike, this is spot I will be heading. read more

Every time I have gone, the staff has been super friendly and knowledgeable. Give them a price range, and they'll get you set up with a great bike. They have a large selection of bikes and accessories, and when we were in a rush and told them we needed our bikes pronto, they got to it and had them built by the next day. You won't find Walmart prices at Canyon Bikes. But you also won't find Walmart level service or products. read more

My son found himself in the difficult situation of having a serious issue with his bike and his first big race of the season is tomorrow morning. Despite the fact that the shop was slammed with more work than it could handle, Cody went the extra mile to work us in and personally got my son's bike fixed so he could race. I cannot express enough how pleased I am with every interaction I've had at this location! Sadly, very sadly, I had my bike stolen from my garage last week. The bike that was stolen was a Trek that was purchased to replace my Specialized Rockhopper that was stolen in late 2014, also from my garage. After only having this Trek for a handful of months, I was devastated to have to replace it, again! Furious, too! We came in this evening to once again, get a new bike for myself, the same Trek. Their website stated they had it in stock so we went down to see. As always, great and flawless service, I cannot express this enough!! It was confirmed the bike was in stock, it just hadn't been yet assembled. We were advised that it should be ready for pick up tomorrow and we'll get a call once it's done. The wonderful guy who helped us out also did an unbelievable act of service; he said because we'd had such bad luck (and probably because the other bikes were purchased through them as well and on record) he'd like to give us $80 in store credit! I was beyond amazed and taken back by the kindness and generosity! Forever, I will be a loyal customer to this Canyons location. Although I wish we didn't have to keep replacing stolen bikes, I couldn't ask for a better experience with dealing with our LBS! read more

Highly recommended. I have been going to this location for about 4 years. I recently purchased a bike and have been in a few times for minor adjustments. They have been incredibly helpful and friendly. There have several occasions that they have made some quick adjustments on the spot so I could get up on the mountain that same day. I live out of state and was in the area for work last week and I brought my bike with me. I stopped by here just because it happened to be the closest bike shop and was looking for information on local single track trails. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by a friendly employee. I asked about local trails and was directed to Hunter, another employee. Despite the fact that it was clear that I wasn't there to buy anything, Hunter spend about 15 minutes going over a map of local trails with me. He even dropped a pin on my i-phone map, making the trail head super easy to get to. Hunter recommended some great trails as well as the best time of day to ride. I did take a few minutes to cruise through the store and they had a large selection of bikes, accessories, and replacement parts and the staff that I dealt with was extremely knowledgeable. First, this place is EXPENSIVE. Apparently they haven't yet discovered that everything they carry can be purchased online for a fraction of the price. Yes, there is shipping to consider - so buy two and you'll still be ahead. The staff is also elitist. Whoopie. So they ride bikes. So do I. Believe it or not, that's why I'm here! It always kills me when I walk into a store and after waiting around for about 20 minutes for some information on a floor model I get, "Did you need some help with something?" "Yes, does this bike come with a warranty?" "Yes, it's lifetime on the frame. What are you planning to use it for?" Hum... let me see. What will I be using my bike for? Ahhhh, "I'll be hitting tennis balls with it. Will that affect the warranty?" Aside from being ridiculously overpriced and pompous, they have a good selection of bicycles, clothing, tires, tubes, bottles, and most importantly, spare parts. Just be sure to stop at the bank on the way, and carry a Valium or some other mind numbing drug with you in case of emergency. As long as you're not driving home you may find it helpful after having dealt with one of their sales people. read more

I was in the Draper location last week with my 16 year old daughter and 3 year old son. I was inquiring about a bike for my daughter. She wanted a bike for her birthday and I was prepared to purchase one that day. The woman that approached us immediately when we entered the store was curt and arrogant. She clearly was not interested in helping me with a purchase after she, very clearly, scanned my body from head to toe with her eyes several times. After she so rudely sized me up, she said they had no beach cruisers my daughter was interested in, in stock and I could look in their catalog. I asked if that was online, because at NO time did she offer to get the catalog, she then laughed and said, no we have the catalog here...by this time my 3 yo, had a little melt down, and the saleswoman walked away and went and stood behind the counter with 3 other employees. I calmed my son down and walked over to the counter, assuming I would be shown the catalog. Wrong! All the employees just stood there chatting with eachother and never said one thing to me. From what I saw, they are not interested in a sale unless you are there to purchase a $1000+ bicycle and you look like you are ready for the Tour De France or the Ironman. So I will be spending the $500 I have for my daughter's birthday bicycle at The Bike Barn in Lehi. The BB may not have as big of a selection, but they are attentive and curteous and offer to order products not in stock... I thought long and hard before providing this review. Less than a year ago I came in to purchase a bike to help me lose weight and combat depression. This Hangar location was quick to make the sell, start me out, and spend plenty of my money. I was fine with that at first because I had big goals and trusted their expertise. After purchasing my Cannondale road bike from them, I experienced issues with the gears each and every time I road the bike, making it challenging to ride often and reach my goals. After every ride or two, the gears experienced major slippage and the chain would fly off. I brought my bike in at least 5 times for the exact same issue. Most often they were annoyed to be dealing with my bike again, claiming is was just mere adjustment issues (covered under my year deal with them). Despiste their quick and at times delayed efforts to simply "adjust the problem". The problem was never resolved, leading back to my initial suspicion that there was a true gear and product problem. Eventually, I moved to Michigan and I have fought the same issues with my bike. I reached out to them over the phone a couple of times since moving, and they most certainly did not want to deal with the faulty product they sold me and did not fix, urging me to reach out to a local dealer who probably will just end up charging me for something that falls under their Hangar warranty. Honestly, I'm just sad and disappointed. No one likes to buy any product in the thousands, not have it work properly, and have your dealer blow you and your problem off. read more

As an active but non competitive road cyclist, I have visited many bike shops in the area and have ultimately made the majority of my visits / bike related purchases at Canyon Bicycles in Draper. They have frequent coupons which incents me to drop by and simply "look around." On every visit, I've found the employees to be welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and never pushy. I've never felt pressured into buying anything but rather, have always been impressed with the vast product knowledge shown by each of the staff that have helped me. The knowledge I think comes from the fact that they all seem to be highly enthusiastic about bikes and love being there. It's not just a job, it's a passion and it shows. This past week I have been contemplating and researching a new wheelset for my road bike. This was a significant and expensive upgrade for me and I ended up purchasing my wheels today from Canyon. They had a special on the wheel that I ultimately chose and provided an excellent review of all the best possible options for my bike and the type of riding I do. I believe it was Jill who helped me and did an outstanding job of pointing me in the right direction. Very impressed with Canyon Bicycles. They have a great selection of the gear and brands that I like and again the staff is friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and passionate about bikes. My first bad experience with Canyon, could've been pretty serious! I took my Camber in for a tune up, and after my first ride I heard a bit of scraping from my rear brake. I couldn't quite see what was causing the noise, until I noticed that the rear bolt hadn't been tightened, and one of the spacers was missing. To me, it looks as though they lost a spacer, didn't replace it, and left the screw loose so that the rotor wouldn't rub on the caliper. I definitely can't trust them to do any work on my bike, so I'll move my business elsewhere. They should consider themselves lucky that caught it before I decided to go on a serious ride. read more

These guys are the best. I've taken my bike here a few times to get a tuneup, and they always do a great job. This past weekend, I dropped my bike off and picked it up a few days later after they had done a bit of work on it. I tested it out and everything was great. The next day, I got a call from one of the mechanics saying that he was worried that he may not have completely tightened a screw on the gears; I brought it back in, and it turned out fine, but it was awesome that he called me to check. I made a few phone calls to other shops in the valley to get ideas on pricing and bikes and other basic information; Derrick at Canyon in Draper was the only one who did not rush off the phone or act put off by my ignorance on the subject. He spent as much time as I needed to answer each and every question and offered great suggestions for our situation. I am not pleased with them pinching pennies out of me, I will spend my time and money somewhere else in the Salt Lake Valley.
