We went to Cook Family Park for the first time today and it is a must visit for any family. My kids…read moreloved it, they have multiple areas and actives for all ages. Playground is large, lots of different levels. Multiple slides, climbing structures, bridges, animal statues to explore. They have a zipline and swings (multiple types). Along with the park they have a skate park, pump track and gated soccer area. Multiple open grass fields as well. When visiting the splash pad was still under construction as workers seemed to be sealing the concrete. It looks like it's almost done. It will be cute boat style splash pad. Lots of shaded table areas, multiple bathrooms and drinking fountains.

Excellent easy trail for families and joggers. This trail starts by the playground and tennis…read morecourts of the Spanish Fork Sports Park and then follows the Spanish Fork River. It was the perfect stroll for my young kids in the middle of the Summer because it is mostly shaded. The River was really high in June so it wasn't safe for kids to wade in, but I hear at the end of Summer or Sept it can be pretty low. The trail end on one end of the park but then extends beyond the park to the East and goes through a tunnel under the main road. Not sure how far it extends from there. There is a map at the beginning where I mentioned earlier. Perhaps a closer look with tell you those secrets. The trail is well taken care of and fairly wide and smooth. Great for strollers or for running on. HINT: There is a Fantastic climbing tree located in the middle of the trail in the Sports Park! So good, I climbed all the way to the top! :) Someone also attached a little swing that my kids couldn't get enough of.

There's a good sized parking lot with some restrooms (which were unfortunately poorly maintained due to staffing issues-but that's another review). There are a few nice overlook spots along the trail and even a few benches to stop and enjoy the scenery. I noticed that there were many spots in the grassy area that appeared to be burned. As I was wondering aloud what those meant, I came across a sign that explained that they were prescribed burns to prevent the existing trees from choking out. They need space to grow. The water is incredibly clear and the stream has a lovely flow to it. There are some spots that are a little more sparse than others, so it might not be the most magnificent trail you'll find in the mountains, but if it's along your path and you'd like a short walk, it's definitely worth visiting.

But looking at other reviewer's pictures, we could see that during other seasons, the landscape and all the foliage are very colorful. The little streams and tiny waterfalls were peaceful and serene. Also, bring bug spray!
