I took my time doing the hike--listened to some music; noticed the different plants; took breaks; and then, took my headphones off to really soak in nature. It was so therapeutic. Once I reached the final point, I noticed it was quite packed when I went around fall season; and I'm not surprised. The weather was perfect to dip in the hot springs; and the colorful fall leaves made my experience extra vibrant. The water was clean; temperature of water varies depending on where you're sitting; and each area vary in size. As for someone who enjoys exploring and all the adventures, I decided to take my time to sit in each hot springs. Honestly, my favorite is the first one as the hiker approaches the start of hot springs. It's not big, but it's more secluded. It has a nice balance of shade and sunlight; little waterfalls; and some rocks to hop over and/or sit on. I felt as if it was part of my backyard, lol. I couldn't help but to take so much pictures. I'm definitely coming back again during the spring or summer to experience it differently.

We didn't want to pay for a hot spring since the other ones were busy and the "natural" element is no longer there. However, we weren't as prepared as we thought we were. We visited this hot spring in late December which meant a lot of the roads leading there were closed due to the snow. We walked about 1 mile before reaching the trailhead. Once you reach a sign that points straight and right, take the right to cross the small bridge towards the side of the mountain. Our saving grace was google maps but it wasn't fully accurate at times. Remember that once you cross that bridge, the river should stay on your right until you reach the springs. This trek was TOUGH and feels like 10 miles (when it's only about 5) because of the hills and thick snow/ice. We did not have spikes or sticks to help so we had to rely on each other and our surroundings. It took about 2.5 hours going since we didn't stop and were going fairly quickly and this is coming from someone who does not hike regularly. There was a portion of the hike that was a uphill climb using a rope which was probably the scariest part for me because it was icy and not stable (hence why spikes would help). Once you near the springs, the smell of sulfur becomes strong and the river begins changing color from clear to blue. There are 2 spots that is on google maps, the first one was very busy but it was not the main attraction. We kept walking and got to the actual fifth water hot springs which was still kind of busy but enjoyable. We got into both the hot springs and the cold springs and it was a very cool experience. The hike back was much faster since we knew where we were going but still hard. If you want to challenge yourself to a hike with a cool and relaxing reward of being in the hot springs, I would recommend this hike! I'm sure it's easier when it's not snowy/icy but being in naturally hot pools while your surroundings are covered in snow is beautiful and I would do this again. Tips: -We forgot towels which was a rookie mistake so make sure to take some! -Remember to take off any jewelry prior to going/getting in the hot springs because the sulfur will tarnish it. -Wear thick socks to avoid frozen toes. -The hike itself was beautiful so remember to look up and enjoy the scenery instead of always looking down at the trail. -Start EARLY because it will take at least half a day to complete

You will see mountain bikers, runners, and hikers in this area. If you're looking for something chill, try out the short trails leading to some nice vantage points. For the more adventurous, take a deep hike into the valley and enjoy the lush landscape. Also very family friendly and dog friendly. Only wished there was more signage to help us navigate the web of trails. Update: We were able to hike part of the Slate Canyon trail yesterday. It is an 8.5 mi. loop, considered a "difficult" rating. Due to time constraints we were only able to check out about a quarter of it. Very beautiful view of the cliffs on the trail, and excellent resting spots with good shade. Very family friendly, with some flat parts of the trail and nice climbing as well. Carrier recommended for toddlers.

Sites are situated along the beautiful Strawberry Reservoir. Plenty of fishing and hiking. Plenty of restrooms conveniently located for each site. There are no showers. You'll have toilets and sinks in a sturdy typical State park building. Bathrooms are so-so. Regarding the restrooms, they are clean for a State park. We've been in better but also much worse. The peaceful scenic campsites make up for the restrooms. Tent camping is also available.

So after searching this showed up & looked like a perfect place for a quiet picnic. We have decided to go there early before it gets too hot . What a cute little spot, I am surprised not much people knows about this place . If I were to live in Utah this will be my go to place whenever I miss nature . I had fun going far into the water where it's literally not deep at all . Had to convince my hubby to come join me , until I went far & still can see my knees he didn't believe me lol. Then I had to drag him out of the water ! I wasn't sure about the restroom but my hubby went & checked it . I was shocked how clean it was, can't find this clean bathroom in New York City parks for sure ! So if you feel like don't wanna be with too many people while being near the water, this is the spot . Come real early so you have a shade to enjoy your picnic.

Because there is NO parking by the trail head, I parked by the reservoir, and walked up the road past all the camping spots, and caught the trailhead. This will add 10 minutes at the most. Trail starts out by a sign pointing to different trails (follow the one that says Escalate Cross) it starts out descending some stairs then it is a single file trail with lush greenery. It was so quite you could hear a pin drop. I was the only one on the trail. So peaceful. There is a mountain bike trail parallel to this trail which I think is cool. That way you don't have to fight the mountain bikers when they come barreling down the hill.. Trail is shady for the first half. The second half is exposed to the sun. The closer you get to the cross, the harder, rockier, and slippery it becomes. Trail today was very rocky, dry, and slippery. Once you get up towards the cross (or I should say out of the trees) you will have beautiful views of the valley looking North. I was able to make out Utah Lake, but barely, because of all the smoke from the California fires. This a a family friendly, dog friendly trail if dogs are kept on a leash. This is one of those small-town gems that feels magical the second you arrive. The entire pond is surrounded by festive lights, but the real showstoppers are the floating Christmas trees. Their reflections on the water look like something out of a storybook -- absolutely stunning and so unique compared to other light displays in the area. What makes this even better is that it's completely free, which is almost unbelievable considering how pretty and well-done the whole setup is. You can walk the path around the pond for an up-close experience or drive the loop if you want to stay warm. Both are great options, and it's super family-friendly. There's a lit bridge, fun displays, and plenty of spots to take gorgeous photos. The atmosphere is calm, cozy, and full of small-town Christmas charm without the crowds or chaos of bigger holiday events. Salem did an incredible job creating a festive space that feels welcoming and magical for all ages.
