Management is only invested in protecting their circle. The circle consists of the founding women and unassertive employees who have been there longer than five years. They lead covertly and have a "no gossip policy" teachers are forced to sign, but don't follow themselves. Decisions on my behalf were made by people who never saw me teach. Losing multiple teachers every year is the norm. They cycle through teachers like nobody's business. They sweet talk the new hires and tell them they're really good, when they're struggling and have limited training. I was only paired with young, inexperienced teachers and encouraged to support/guide them without extra compensation. I was told the exact same worded praise as another teacher with zero experience. Teachers were encouraged to share their teaching skills/strategies without compensation. The young new hires were commonly highlighted in newsletters and social media. They play favorites. Incorrect information and poor management communication are commonplace. Every teacher I worked alongside quit. I saw at least nine teachers quit. By burning out and dumping the new hires they can hire new teachers each year at a lower pay rate, protecting their circle, and saving money. There are reasons this preschool has become a multimillion dollar company so quickly. And they're not good. Avondale is good at making money. They use teachers and crush dreams. They crushed mine.

Unfortunately, our experience with this school has been extremely disappointing. The biggest issue…read morehas been the lack of communication and accountability from administration. There have been repeated concerns regarding bullying, including obvious signs that have been reported by parents multiple times, yet there has been little to no meaningful action or communication about what is being done to address it. Parents should not have to repeatedly advocate for their children's safety or physically go into the school just to get a response. The Assistant Director has been particularly difficult to communicate with. There is very little proactive communication with parents, and it often feels like families are left to chase down answers rather than the administration taking responsibility for keeping parents informed. There are also concerns with the overall culture and professionalism. Some teachers seem more focused on being their students' friends than maintaining the structure, boundaries, and authority that children need from their teachers. Having a positive relationship with students is important, but being liked should never come before being a responsible educator. Another major concern is the quality of the food being served. We have seen or been made aware of food being served to children that was moldy or not completely cooked. This is not something that should ever be considered acceptable in a school setting. Families are expected to pay significant amounts, yet basic standards regarding the food children are being served do not always seem to be met. There are also concerns surrounding lunchroom practices. An aide, Tessa, has been observed rushing children out of the lunchroom before their allotted lunch time is over. The impression given is that this is being done so the lunch staff can be sent home earlier and the school can avoid paying additional hours. If that is in fact the reason, it is extremely concerning. Children should not have their time to eat shortened because of staffing costs or budget decisions. We chose this school because we trusted that our children would be safe, properly supervised, respected, and cared for. Unfortunately, our experience has left us questioning AGAIN whether those priorities are truly being upheld. There are some good people who care about the children, but the ongoing administrative and operational issues are too significant to ignore.

The education philosophy is also a huge plus for me as they focus on emotional, cognitive and social development using a hands-on approach. Students progress aren't being monitored properly. When my child attended Treeside (2018-2019) I didn't receive progress reports for quite a while. I ended up bringing an advocate with me to a meeting with the whole team do to that reason. Let me just say how defensive everyone in that meeting got just because I was advocating for my child. From stuff like: "If I had a magic pill I can take to get it all done" or the principal saying "we do what we can". Those are no excuses as to why I wasn't being informed of my child's progress. It was very uncomfortable for me as a parent having to hear such thing from them. Now their cafeteria is a hot mess . I was always there every morning with my kids & I can tell you that there isn't always staff watching the kids other than the cafeteria ladies. There are kids running , throwing balls etc. I was even shoved by a few kids while in there. The Cafeteria ladies are very sweet , but I think the school makes their job harder by them having to be the ones to remind the kids that it's time to go to class, line up or simply having to discipline kids themselves. Their carpool lane is a NIGHTMARE , man that still needs a lot work. It scares me that one day a child will get hit by a car. Save yourself the trouble!

The food is overall bad and they don't care to get a grant for free lunches, 3 dollars for a sub par lunch is quite literally theft. The hope squad knows nothing about self harm and supporting people who are suffering, they are like little goons for the counselors that are also terrible at preventing suicide, one of the counselors just stares at you and tells you about the things he's making for his wife while you sit there. Yes some older members of hope squad are supa alpha and a hopie I would like to shout out is Addi and she is so sigma, she actually cares about helping people and not just getting the free trips to sodalicious or wherever they go. Also keeping parents in the dark about a drug planting in a kids car and calling it a school shooting, they put the kids in an extreme state of anxiety because they wanted to save face?? and they told the staff to not tell the kids that there wasn t a school shooting to try and calm the situation. Also keeping everyone in the dark because they would rather have an out of pocket shooter drill where they said "k9s are out because that's a part of the drill" when no school uses k9s for shooter drills than fess up and say that the school has a drug problem. anyway this school has a terrible drug problem save the 250 dollars and dont enroll here.
