We came here to fish during a weekday around noon. The entrance fee is $15/vehicle or $4/person…read moreunless you have a State Park Pass. The lake probably had around 3 other groups scattered about fishing, which wasn't too bad. There were a lot of people just taking walks and biking around the park too. The parking lot was rather empty despite the park being so vast. We went to fish at the lake to the left on the rocks and didn't get to explore much else besides this part. There is also a red spigot here with some shaded areas so you can wash your hands or take breaks from fishing. There are a lot of mosquitoes around the lake and it does get hot so bring bug spray, sun screen (always reapply), and water!!! Especially if you are staying for a while, which is always the case if you're fishing! Within 2-3 hours everybody in my party caught at least 5 fish. With some catching 10+. There were periods of times when the waters were more stagnant and nobody around us caught any fish but then when people start catching fish, everybody seems to be catching fish all around. It's always so fun hearing how happy people are around us when they manage to reel something in. There are also snakes and spiders in this area so if you're afraid of snakes and spiders, maybe stay away or be more careful of surroundings. During our fishing period, we saw over two snakes. Overall, pretty fun place to fish! Just remember to protect yourself from the sun and the bugs!

What a wonderful hidden gem, if I knew earlier about this place I would have come here every week…read morefor a picnic. I had so much fun.

These gentlemen are the authority when it comes to fly fishing in Park City, Utah! Extremely…read moreknowledgeable, and amazing to work with.  Patient and forthcoming with instruction. They could not have provided us with a better experience. Their gear was clean and comfortable, it seemed almost new.  If you're in Park City look no further than Park City Fly Fishing Guides. Best outfitter we've used anywhere on our many trips out West!

I fished with two different guides over a day and a half this week. The first day, I brought my own…read morerods to fish with, and they told me that I could kindly leave them behind. I really wanted to use my equipment, but was forced to use their rods/reels (Orvis Clearwater rods). When we got to the first spot, the guide instructed us on how to cast a fly rod - great for beginners, but he caught a fish. Took the best chance for a fish away from the guest. Total no-no. If you want to instruct, go to a spot to show someone, or at least have the guest cast in a spot to evaluate their casting capability. On the second day. I brought my rods again but the guide wasn't interested in having me use them. We got to the river and, once again, cast into a fresh pool. Fish on immediately. I got another lesson in casting, which I did not need or want. The guide then proceeded upstream from me to test weights (I don't even know what that means) and they caught another fish. At one point, the guide was out-fishing me 3-1. I ended up with 8 netted fish over 5hrs. It was fairly evident that this guide had one spot, which we went to first, that they were comfortable with. So, to be fair, guides would be great if you're a beginner. But if you know how to fish and really just want a guide to share knowledge of a variety of spots, I wouldn't recommend.
