Around the 4th of July and Pioneer Day teenagers set off fireworks in the parking lot late at night, which is a bit of a drag for the people living nearby, but they generally clean up after themselves. There are quite a few trails and pathways that lead to the north side of Utah lake and I've seen people frequent them. I wouldn't recommend the pond for swimming , but it's great for some casual fishing and watching ducks swim around. There are lots of shaded bench areas as well and also areas I've seen people set up hammocks to relax. Quite easy to get to and free street parking. A nice little getaway from the hustle and bustle of Saratoga, Lehi and American Fork.

A small playground is also there and usually has a myriad of children rummaging through. There's lots of grassy area for any activity you can dream of. There's horseshoe spots near the back corner as well. One bathroom location, which is as gross as every other park bathroom everywhere. The signs said closed for season (in April) but the doors were wide open so I'm not sure if that's taken as law around here or if anyone cares to check. The toilets are the metal, prison-esque and they're very gross. Not taken care of at all but that's not a surprise or much of an issue for me as I'm sure most park bathrooms are taken care of much. The best part about this park is its location by the Provo River and river trail. An excellent bike or walk path to take. All in all, it's a decent park and good place to start or end your walk/bike/run on the river trail.

It's incredibly convenient that it's right by the Orem Public Library as well! We can go grab a few books for the week and then run around at the park right after! In addition, I love the two distinct parks that are there. There is one for older kids and then this park has a whole section for younger children called the "Tot Lot". The slides, swings, see-saw and all the interaction sections are aimed at a younger crowd. I love the distinction, but my five year old still enjoys running over and playing in this area as well. They have also thoughtfully created shaded areas for the parents to stand under. One by the main playground and then another by the swings. I adore a park with intentional spots of shade! I particularly like the variety of park "obstacles" here. To list a few, there are two different zip lines, four slides at the "big kid park", one slide at the Tot Lot area, a climbing wall, a little merry-go-round, musical instrument area for both parks, monkey bars and obstacles at different heights and so much more. As we were walking we found this really awesome cave! Too scared to go inside though. As you are walking there is a nice creek on the side and picnic benches. Nice spot to chillax. There are bathrooms and also a playground for the kids. They have this cool train you can play on as well. The only thing I didn't see is a fire pit or grill to BBQ. There are a few other spots nearby that have these if you want.
