That said, a few weeks ago during Steel Days, they held a carnival at the park, and it was packed. Parking was really difficult to find with so many people there. But outside of special events like that, it's usually not a problem. Overall, it's a great place to hang out, get some fresh air, and enjoy time with friends and family.

They kept the "castle park" feel (that's what i called it as a kid), but made it more all-abilities friendly. It's well built, cute and fun for all ages. The bathrooms are decent. My 2 year old tried climbing on the equipment and started to scream when she sat down trying to go down a slide that was waaay too hot! Another young toddler had the same thing happen to her. We arrived at the roughly same time as 3 other family and all of us left within 10 minutes because the equipment was too hot. To some extent I get it's out of anyone's control but there is playground equipment that is less conductive of heat creating a better experience for everyone.

They have six pickleball courts that are always in fantastic condition. They also have a couple of tennis courts. The playground itself is super fun. My kids (3, 5, and 8) love climbing on all the different ropes and apparatuses and such as. They also have the little zipline things that you can sit on. Definitely a hit for youngsters and adults alike. In the summer they even have shave ice available for purchase. The Murdock Canal Trail goes right next to the park so you can go on a bike ride or walk right up to the park.

Up for a game of volleyball? Sure, you can do that too! Of all the great features of this park, my favorite is the Free Little Library up at the top of the hill. It's also a fun area to walk around, as there are 2 bridges over the stream, and the Cedar HIlls Parkway Trail runs right through it. It also has a working water fountain and spout if needed. Reserve it through the city if you can; it's the best one. I love have much variety and height this playground has. My children have so much fun here. It also feels safer so I feel confident letting my 3 year old wandering and climb on it as well. There is plenty of grass area for dogs to run and yard games to play on, if that's what suits you as well. Very well kept and beautiful park. I just wish I knew more about who Margaret Wines was whom this park is honoring.
