They kept the "castle park" feel (that's what i called it as a kid), but made it more all-abilities friendly. It's well built, cute and fun for all ages. The bathrooms are decent. They have automated flushing toilets and faucets, no mirrors, but functional and open. There are baseball fields across the parking lot as well. Great park.

My 2 year old tried climbing on the equipment and started to scream when she sat down trying to go down a slide that was waaay too hot! Another young toddler had the same thing happen to her. We arrived at the roughly same time as 3 other family and all of us left within 10 minutes because the equipment was too hot. To some extent I get it's out of anyone's control but there is playground equipment that is less conductive of heat creating a better experience for everyone.

They have six pickleball courts that are always in fantastic condition. They also have a couple of tennis courts. The playground itself is super fun. My kids (3, 5, and 8) love climbing on all the different ropes and apparatuses and such as. They also have the little zipline things that you can sit on. Definitely a hit for youngsters and adults alike. In the summer they even have shave ice available for purchase. The Murdock Canal Trail goes right next to the park so you can go on a bike ride or walk right up to the park.

Who doesn't love the smell of fall leaves? There is a good amount of open space for running around-and a modest hill that I'm sure hosts some young sledders in the winter. That's my kind of sledding! If you're hosting a party or a picnic, there is a nice pavilion available. A decent sized playground area will keep the kids entertained and the gender neutral bathrooms are much appreciated! Up for a game of volleyball? Sure, you can do that too! Of all the great features of this park, my favorite is the Free Little Library up at the top of the hill. Not technically a part of the park, but I'm gonna include it anyway. Take a book, leave a book. Sit under a beautiful tree and read. I can't think of a better way to spend an afternoon.

It's also a fun area to walk around, as there are 2 bridges over the stream, and the Cedar HIlls Parkway Trail runs right through it. It's nothing to be utterly amazed by, but it's a nice park for what it's worth.

It was semi-busy when we went during a weekday afternoon, but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I'd like to come back with my bike and to bring my dog back to possibly swim. I saw a swimming area, but people were fishing nearby, and I knew that my dog would ruin their game! Lovely for a solo / family or date outing on a sunny afternoon or sunsetting evening.

So pretty! We only used the tennis courts, but I also noticed a basketball court, splash pad, picnic tables with coverings, playgrounds, and a paved trail. We came in January (January!!) and the basketball courts were packed, and kids were rollerskating on the path. Seems like a nice, family-friendly park, and I can't wait to picnic here when it gets warmer!

That said, a few weeks ago during Steel Days, they held a carnival at the park, and it was packed. Parking was really difficult to find with so many people there. Yes there was flowing water in the creek. You know, the Dry Creek! And I have no idea why it says "Closed Now" online. Parking lot is open.
