I was worried about the reconstruction of this park because i grew up with and loved the old one. I know the wood was getting old and left splinters in your hands, but it help a special place in my child heart. Luckily, the new construction was worth the wait! They kept the "castle park" feel (that's what i called it as a kid), but made it more all-abilities friendly. It's well built, cute and fun for all ages. The bathrooms are decent. They have automated flushing toilets and faucets, no mirrors, but functional and open. There are baseball fields across the parking lot as well. Great park. read more

I grew up coming to Discovery Park and it will forever hold a place in my heart for the "cool" memories! I "wood-n't" be lying if I said it's lost it's cool and while it has shadows of the past with fun equipment all of it is waaay too hot on a sunny day! My 2 year old tried climbing on the equipment and started to scream when she sat down trying to go down a slide that was waaay too hot! Another young toddler had the same thing happen to her. We arrived at the roughly same time as 3 other family and all of us left within 10 minutes because the equipment was too hot. To some extent I get it's out of anyone's control but there is playground equipment that is less conductive of heat creating a better experience for everyone. read more

I loved the wooden park growing up and the remodel of it is okay I don't appreciate the plastic everywhere now I also don't appreciate the new play places soaking in all the disgusting sweat. read more

This park was completely remodeled and just had a grand re opening in June of 2019. There is even a Facebook page for it called 'Rediscovering Discovery Park'. The new park is similar to the old one, but so much better as well. This is the type of park playplace that, if it had a roof and walls, could charge ten bucks per kid if they wanted. But it is free! It has plenty of adventurous structures to climb and play on, a neat pretend rocket with sound affects, a xylophone, a merry go round, a seesaw, swings and tire swings, lots of slides, monkey bars, climbing walls, benches, picnic tables, etc. The play place is also surrounded by a medium sized wooden fence with pretty much only a front and back entry. The back exit takes you to the restrooms. The ground under the play place is a nice springy rubber material. One really cool upgrade to the park is that now it's wheelchair accessible. There are lots of great ramps and open space in the play place that you can easily fit a wheelchair in many areas. Also one of the swings is disabled friendly. The park also has a parking lot, six tennis courts, picnic table pavilion, baseball diamond, and lots of grassy area. It really is a must-visit for anyone with kids. read more

Umm so where's the wood!? I was told this was a "wooden park". So you can imagine how sad i was when i saw it was plastic.

It's a pretty good park. However it doesn't give you a good line of sight for watching your kids and I felt very closed off in there the whole time. Also a lot of graffiti and not enough toddler swings. read more

This is a great park. It's a large, sprawling wooden structure with many places to run, hide, and explore. It has swings and slides, including some for bigger kids and some for littles. (It should be noted, though, that some of the slides end pretty high off the ground.) There are restrooms nearby, and the drinking fountain worked when I went last week. I think I recall there were some picnic benches and tables to eat at, so it would be a great place to lunch. The park was built with a science theme. Many of the science-y signs have faded, but the park itself is still fun. It's even worth driving to, if you're interested in something different than your neighborhood local park. read more

This park was torn down and rebuilt, but it is in fact there! My toddler had fun there and loved the water misting features.

The Discovery Park in Pleasant Grove is a really unique and fun playground for kids of all ages. It has a huge wooden fortress to play in and around - kids can climb over the swinging wooden bridge, climb up into the rocketship or castle turret, try to balance on the earthquake platform, use the speaking tubes or xylophone, or just run around, slide, and swing. It's an amazing, unique playground with lots of fun scientific exhibits and features. On the practical side, there are numerous benches for parents to get comfortable on, a drinking fountain, and bathrooms a short walk away. . I love this park! It's so big, and has some great features. It's one of those older wooden ones with a ton of different paths and twists and turns. There are swings, too. There are bathrooms on site. There are benches built in the structure for parents to sit on. The whole thing is just fabulous and we could spend hours here. read more

Wonderful park but all the toilets are either trashed or do not work. It's too bad we couldn't hang out. Totally disgusting.
