So obviously, both times, I have not been very close to City Center. However, I have been to City Center a few times in the last month and I am IMPRESSED with how much it is growing and expanding. I probably wouldn't have came to this park if it hadn't been for the farmer's market. I am in my early 20s and have no idea what to do at a park. Despite the farmer's market being very busy, there was still plenty of parking--I was quite impressed with the layout of the parking lot in particular. So I park my Jeep and head over. There were all kinds of vendors; food, handmade items, etc.. Then they had this massive play area for kids to enjoy. If you went a bit further, they also had a gazebo with tables. At the time of my visit, this was being occupied by some kind of reunion. It was a massive area so it is perfect for something like a reunion or party. They also did have some kind of splash area. Parks, especially ones with playgrounds, are not really targeted for my demographic--that being a single woman in her 20s with no children or even a dog. I wouldn't say this would be somewhere I would go out of my way for unless there is another fun event happening. I did enjoy seeing the cute dogs.

We had about 70 people attending and about 40 of them were kids ages 0-19. There was something fun for all ages! (Ok, to be honest the 2 month old didn't really say she had fun; but my 5 month old enjoyed laying on a blanket watching everyone around her so even the babies enjoyed it!) With it being a family reunion I had family in town from California, Arizona, and all around Utah and everyone was way impressed with all the amenities they had at this park! The families from Arizona were especially jealous; I guess where they live they don't have cool parks. We started off playing all over the park equipment and with us being there so early before the splash pad opened; we had the park to ourselves until 9:45am! Once the splash pad opened the kids transitioned to the water area and spent hours playing all over. We rented 2/3 of the large pavilion and were able to fit all of us easily under our part of the pavilion. If you need an outdoor area to gather lots of people; consider renting the pavilion! I think it was only like $50 (but I can't remember). We then had a big game of Kickball in their festival field area and then moved over towards the Pickleball courts where we had a Pickleball Tournament! We had teams of ages 12-61 playing so if you're looking for a mix between tennis and ping-pong: Pickleball is for you! Heads up: Bring your own equipment! We were prepared and had all we needed, but don't expect to rent out any equipment at the park. Also: Bring a canopy/tent or some type of shade! The pavilions are great; but if you want to get closer to the splash pad, bring your own shade! Overall: The day was amazing! One of my nephews has special needs and is in a wheelchair and he was able to ride on swings and other play equipment because they are "all needs accessible". I really liked that!

I've heard lots of people talk about this park, especially in the winter when it's all lit up with Christmas lights, and it wasn't until this year that I finally made it out there. The playground looked fun-although I didn't go try it myself. I figured that the parents of the kids playing might not appreciate some rando adult joining in with everyone. But if you have youngsters, or are one yourself, you'll find merriment and joy here. The trees were all lit up beautifully and the star of the show, of course, was mesmerizing. It might not be a multi-hour tour, but it's worth a visit. And it's free, so there's that!

Even in the time of COVID when parks are a better option, I noped out. So do take note that when sports are in season, it's full of kids and parents watching games. But today, I stopped by for just a few minutes and it was quiet. Lovely. Shade. The perfect early autumn day with sun high in the sky but temps a lovely weather, and just a few people out enjoying the vibrant green grass that's bounced back after a dry summer. I read my original review just now and the nostalgia came sweeping over me. I have almost no recollection of the incident I mentioned before, where my buddy and I played football with his crush and she threw a block. That same buddy is married to someone else and has four kids now, so apparently the block didn't garner the respect she had hoped for. But I do remember the scholf of my young childhood, being taken away to give my mother a bit of respite and dad coming up with a shoe-golf game that was both fun and free. Today I really took note of the park, and all it offers. There are tennis courts, with lights you can turn on to play after dusk. There are restrooms on the east and west side. And the big empty fields of my youth are now lined with huge mature trees and have been converted into baseball diamonds. There's even a halfcourt basketball hoop on the very east side and a small paved walking path that navigates the circumference of this long, skinny park. It's my favorite part of Sandy, especially down towards main. Sandy has become a strip-mall-and-suburbs-track-housing kind of place, and it's nice to see a bit of the old charm and character in these streets. What a wonderful little park and delightful spot to spend a few minutes this afternoon.

These suckers provide ample shade and enough beauty to be the backdrop to any family picnic. I'm not sure they'd be good for climbing, sorry kids. The limbs are so high up that you'd need a ladder to get up there. Let's not try that, mmmkay? In addition to trees, there's a nice playground, a large pavilion with tables and a few rec courts for basketball, etc. You can spend an afternoon here easily.

There was really no one there when I got there on a late weekday afternoon. I have a special place in my heart for baseball fields 'cause they remind me of the old days of when I used to play.
