I love bringing my dog here; it's the perfect spot for a leisurely stroll while my dog gets to mingle with others. There's almost always a lively crowd of dogs! The owners here are usually pretty friendly and generally keep an eye on their pups. However, there was this one incident where a hefty 80+lb dog decided to assert dominance over mine. When the dog didn't stop, I picked my dog up, and the dog kept trying to jump up on me. The owner was nowhere to be found. Thankfully, two other attentive owners came to help. Turns out, the owner was just hanging out halfway across the park! I will also note that some people don't pick up their dogs poop, so be careful if you choose to step off the 'trail'. Also, during summer, there can be quite a few bugs around the trash cans. For some reason, those bugs also like to hangout on our clothes and hair!

Every time I visit American Fork, I fall in love with it. This beautiful park was no exception-it lured me and with it's big, beautiful trees and kept my attention with the variety of fun things to do. The Steel Days festival is what brought me to town, my son was performing in a couple of the bands in the line-up. Although there were lots of people, there was ample parking and plenty of space to accommodate everyone with their lawn chairs and oversized blankets. In the sweltering heat of the afternoon, my wife and I retreated into the shade where we found a disc golf course winding through the trees. It was a welcome shelter from the sun and a very different landscape compared to other parts of Utah. I love the variety! Of course, there are playgrounds, sports courts and open areas for running around. This park has it all! If anyone is planning a picnic here, please invite me.

    Fun at the park!

This park was the perfect size for my 2 year old. I really liked that they had a fence around the playground so you can only enter through 2 entrance areas. It helps to keep kids contained. I gave only 4 stars because there's absolutely no shade near the playground and it was soooooo hot! The closest tree is across from the parking lot. It would be nice if there were some kind of shade.

I brought my dog here for the first time on a weekday afternoon. We like to find new spacious places for her to run around and explore, and this park did not disappoint because it is HUUUUGE. After throwing the ball as far as I could a few times, she was quite winded (and happy). I thought a dude was literally golfing "near" us (more like 100+ yards away), but I believe it was with whiffle balls. It made me laugh. I definitely want to bring my bf for some disc golf! There's also some baseball fields and probably other courts I could not even see during the short time I was there. FYI -- there isn't much shade if that's what you're looking for.

We really enjoyed our time on the pickleball courts here! We didn't do any disc golfing or participate in any baseball games, so this review is only for the pickleball courts and surrounding areas. This is in a great location near Cedar Hills, UT, with well maintained green grass and plenty of parking! There seems to be very little by way of shade or rooftop covering, so it would not be a great place to be at midday or during a lightning storm. The 6 pickleball courts are kept very nice- the nets and the paint look great for how much use they get. The only downside is that there is no way to "reserve" a court, and those playing can keep at it for an hour at a time until they have to turn it over. It's basically just a situation where you have to stand close to the fence and stare at the current players until they feel bad and give you the court. We had a wonderful time here, and would love to go back! There are bathrooms and drinking fountains not too far off, and the water was even kind of cold, which is rare for a public park!

The park itself has become one of the gems of the Salt Lake City disc golf community, featuring an…read more18 hole course. The park has some beautiful big trees and is relatively flat aside from the hill on the west side, and there is the namesake creek that runs along the south edge of the park. It is one of the best disc golf courses around, and plays hosts to leagues and tournaments. The major problem here is that it is directly next to the Wasatch Charter School. When school is in session, parents have decided that the parking lot for Creekside Park is where they will pick up and drop off their kids. So for hours each day in the morning and afternoon, the parking lot is next to impossible to access being clogged by those cars. The other problem with the location next to the school, is that the school has decided that the whole park is a convenient recess location. Without notice, hundreds of children will come running over the hill and flood into all areas of the park, disrupting your quiet picnics or peaceful rounds of disc golf. Now if you're a disc golfer, you probably don't want to hit a little kid in the head (I swear all the "ten bonus point" jokes are only jokes). And if you're a little kid, you probably don't want to get walloped in the head by a hurdling disc of hard plastic. I'm not sure why the school just sends out all the kids unsupervised into the woods to run wild and pay absolutely zero attention to the disc golfers who are in the middle of a round, but at some point there are bound to be injuries. The park also has one large pavilion that can seat about 100 people, a small playground for the kids, and a sand volleyball area, so it is a good option for bbq's and gatherings. My advice is that it is a beautiful park, but if you're going to try to enjoy the park during the school year, to do so on the weekends.

The park is looking nice these days. New signs with bag holders (that also double as a dog leash…read moreholder) are a nice touch. This is a great course to learn how to play disc golf. The holes are not that long and the terrain is pretty mellow. Just watch out you don't go in the river! You may want to avoid peak times, especially in the summer, if you don't feel like waiting around forever.

So I spent some time here last weekend. But even moreso, I have spent far far far more time in the park over the last 4 months than I ever did before, due to the addition of a disc golf course. Now, back in the day (waaaaay back) I was pretty into the sport and have played on about 100 courses all over this fine country. But the sport blew up and is having a moment right now, so much so that courses are popping up all over the place and this fun little pitch-n-putt par 3 seemed to show up out of nowhere. It's great--everything is under 400 feet, and it's brought a lot of people out to the park that might not ever have made it over--truly making this a park for the people. Besides that, they've made some big improvements. There's now a massive pavilion over by the senior center, which is no longer the senior center, but rather a lovely little museum. It's a drought year so I take it easy on them for the condition of the grass which is, you know, not precisely lush right now. But it's beautiful to see them taking water conservation seriously. I'll be over there plenty often now, getting in a quick 9 holes in under an hour, but I'll also be back for Harvest Days next year. Until then!

There is a large area of grass that you could play soccer, flag football or even fly kites. I've seen people flying their drones, and racing their battery operated remote control cars here. The older section has a pavilion, bathrooms, and a small slash pad for the kids with another swing set close by. On Friday nights during the summer they have free concerts. Something for the whole family. Parking lot is on the small size for a park, and the Boys and Girls Club is near by, I believe they share the parking space. The cemetery is on the North/West side of the park..

Directions: Drive to the Utah State Hospital. After the…read moreentrance, park in the parking lot of the second building on your right. You will see a water fountain in a pond between the first and second buildings. #1 is right there by the picnic table next to the parking lot on the pond side. Pros: * Nothing but grass. It is a fairly plush grass and with some slight to a few steep hills, so a pull cart is more adept for this course than a push cart (Rovic, mod golf carts, etc.). * Most are wide open shots with a smattering of trees and other obstacles that will get you if your accuracy is a bit off. Then you will curse yourself for hitting the only tree in the way. * Baskets are in decent shape. * Tee pads are concrete and are in uniform size. * Most tees are right near the last basket played. Could almost navigate this without UDisc. * Some challenging holes. #11's top yellow band is barely visible above a berm, making it difficult to judge distance; #12 is at the top of a 50 foot hill, adding at least 75' to your 305' drive; #13 is buried at a 45 degree angle. #17 is at the edge of a decline drop off, so if it hits the ground and rolls, you can be a good 60' from the basket. * Pretty views. * There is a decent playground by #9 if spouse and kids want to hang while you play. Cons: * As of this writing, #'s 9 and 10 baskets are out because of construction. * No warmup basket. * #4 has a drainage about 50' on approach, slightly to the left of it. The grates are about 1-1/2" wide and 18" long. Large enough for any disc to drop into it. As a matter of fact, I hooked one to it today and my disc landed right next to this drainage. Why doesn't the local club install chicken wire or something to prevent this from happening? * Most are not real challenging holes, but just distance driving. * No bathroom or water facilities from what I could see. Other Thoughts: I'm surprised at how mediocre the courses are around Provo/Orem area. This one will satisfy, though, even though it is not spectacular and rather uneventful. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!
