And there's lots of parking and a restroom. This trail is relatively easy-although it does have a few elevation gains and steep-ish areas. The views overlooking the city below are beautiful. If you're looking for something really remote and "away from it all," this probably isn't the hike for you since you almost always have views of civilization, but if you want a quick hour long hike before you start work in the morning, this one's perfect.

Never having crossed a log bridge quite like this one - it was a good portion of the thrill! Add to that the glowing, pre-sunset kissed, fiercely and beautiful surging river below - full of rapids and mini-waterfalls. This made for a very happy hike! It felt like hiking in an Alpine version of Fern Gully - light filtering through the tall pine canopy - it felt like there was a special nature magic/spirit in this place!

I haven't figured out yet the pattern so it's kind of a crapshoot. Thera are several big rocks to climb and lay on. One in the middle of the river when it's low that makes you feel like a little mermaid. Good place to get grounded and reset. Watch the sunset. It can be a little crowded at times. The trail is paved and there are families that like to come here for pictures.

I used to hike the Y regularly back in my younger days (and let's be very, very clear--I'm not…read more*that* old yet). But this week I took my kids up, and it was an awesome, nostalgic experience. I was worried the little ones wouldn't make it, but joke's on me--*I* was the one huffing and puffing like an overheated freight train. It's not a super hard hike if you're in decent shape, but if you've been skipping leg day (or cardio day, or all days like I have), pro tip: take you time. The views are worth it, and so is the sense of accomplishment once you hit the top. Still one of Provo's best.

Caught the sunset here…read more.. We came up here just for the amazing views, no hiking. We spent some time enjoying panoramic sceneries of the Provo area and Utah Lake. There are different sections to park and enough spaces in the parking lot. The houses on the hills are beautiful on the drive up. I wonder how much real estate is up here. We followed that giant Y just above BYU. It is a popular trail among locals and students... as well as visitors. You can bring pets on your hike, they must be on a leash and, of course, must clean up after them. At the start of the hike you are already at 6,076-ft so there is some elevation there already. You've had gained another 145 feet if you make it to the top of the Y at 6,221-ft. Seems easy? Well, be prepared because it's steep and can be slippery and falling rocks are a possibility. It was a peaceful Sunday evening watching the sun set from the parking lot and the weather was nice and comfortable. Review #1792

I just threw on my spikes, and climbed all the way up to the tower. Easy Trail as far as distance goes, and you can't beat the 360 degree views when you get up on top. You will able to see all the way to Provo, and all the way to Bountiful with the 360 degree view. Just absolutely gorgeous. I only saw five people on the trail today, and that was mostly when I was coming down. Good short hike for families, and part of the trail is off-leash for dogs. ** Garbage can available to put your dog poop in, but people seem to just leave it on the trail. ***No bathrooms available. #leavenotrace

The fans, when properly behaved, get treated to games that rival any major league contest. Only it's their kids out on the field. It's the little ones trying not to play clusterball, the grade schoolers who are getting serious about the sport, and the teens who are taking this to a new level. There are blowouts and mercy rules, and there are nail-biters. I never played baseball as a kid, but occasionally I find myself watching games. The facilities here are geared to the game--several large-ish fields, with a pavilion in the middle that houses the concessions stand and the restrooms. I ordered a burger, and though it's a frozen patty thrown on a gas grill like you'd find in any backyard, the kids do a nice job. And I was stoked to see bleu cheese crumbles and Frank's Red Hot sauce as options to top it, so it turns into a nice burger for $4. Loads of parking, green grass, lights, bleachers, and you can come watch your family or friends play. Hello, summer.

Once you park, you'll walk thru the neighborhood to reach the trail entrance. I actually enjoyed the walk and checking out the beautiful homes along the way. There are no public restrooms btw. The trail starts with 60+ stair steps, then it levels out into mostly flat gravel. Closer to the waterfall, there are some small rocks, and light water streams run over them, so just watch your step to avoid slipping. I climbed up the big rocks to get a closer look at the upper waterfall stream. Overall, it was an easy hike, but I spent a good few hours there soaking in the quiet nature during the week. There were only a handful of other hikers. On the way back, I did a short detour onto the Bonneville Shoreline Trail for about 30 mins in before I turned around since I wasn't familiar with that route.

This tail is in a neighborhood therefore there is no parking on the street in the neighborhood. There is parking out on the main road. After you find parking you have to walk through the neighborhood on the sidewalk up a steady incline. The trailhead starts out with stairs which are hard to climb for little legs. After the stairs the trail get easier but is rocky. After you get to the waterfall, if the water is low, you can actually stand underneath it, or really close to it. On the decent down if your shoes are wet be careful. It can be slippery over the rocks, and then there is a patch of trail that is really sandy. Slip, slide... There is a part of the trail where you can head south on the BTL, but we just headed back to the car. On the way down walking through the neighborhood there was a house that had two deer running around their yard that was gated. I have no idea how they got in there as the house has a very tall fence. Good trail for the little kid, but trail is narrow, and very crowded. I would suggest going in the late afternoon, as there isn't as many people.
