This park also provides basketball courts, large grass field, stage, bathrooms, water fountains (yes, more than one), spout, and a large pavilion with picnic tables. We happened upon this park, and even though the rest of the canyon was packed, this was spread out enough that it didn't feel cramped at all. We saw plenty of parking from the road, so we pulled off for a pit stop. We walked across the bridge and towards the trail--this park sits right on the Provo River and the walkway--and then wandered back towards the restrooms and large grassy area. There are pavilions, and some kind of amphitheater, but we were looking for a picnic table in the sun and found plenty of them. We picnicked indeed! There are lots of places to picnic, including the grass or tables, and saw lots of kids riding bikes and scooters along the walkways that wind around. It looks like you can take off into the trees a little, though I'm unsure if there are any official hikes. With the golden sun starting to get lower in the sky, we ate our sandwiches and drank in the ambrosia of fresh canyon air, turning leaves, and a place dedicated to people getting out to enjoy it all.

There is lots of shade provided from the trees, and there's a cute little stream that runs along next to it! There is also an area to play "frisbee golf" within the park. However, the goals are just painted poles with numbers attached. This park is perfect for playing sports, hosting a family reunion, eating a picnic, or resting in the shade on a Sunday afternoon. It's also a fun area to walk around, as there are 2 bridges over the stream, and the Cedar HIlls Parkway Trail runs right through it. It's nothing to be utterly amazed by, but it's a nice park for what it's worth.

I…read moregrew up in Utah Vivian park is our park but too many people have just ruined the experience. We had a "Karen" who decided to yell at us for temporarily parking closer to the Pavillion to unload some heavy items. We had reserved the Pavillion. We were parked with hazards on for less the 10 minutes. but due to her yelling at us and getting mad because we were ignoring her. So my advice Stay away. Or find a time that's less busy to enjoy the Park. it Would be nice to have Pavillion Parking specifically for those who have reserved a Pavillion for a party. Some people just walked through the Pavillion which that's on them no manners. There was lots of litter. The bathrooms were nasty. Then a HUGE Yellowjacket problem. Swarming the food and around people. There was construction project and piles of dirt were not covered so a wind gust would kick up dirt and roll it through the area. the breeze was nice kept the temp low. but the dust was unpleasant. Vivian Park is a historic place. But due to so much over usage it's losing its charm. We won't be returning and I don't recommend it. Utah do better your Forest and the Charm of the Parks are lost. Not to mention with the amount of people floating down the River your World Famous Fishing.. not the best the River is just too contaminated. You can Do better.

I've been up this turnoff from Provo Canyon many times, but until today I didn't know that there…read morewas a park here. I'd always drive to the last park right on the canyon road, but today I went up past that park and saw the sign for the Forest Service, took it off to the right, and found this park. It's a long skinny road with a few different parking/pavilion areas, and at the end there's a parking lot with a trailhead. That's what I was after tonight--the trailhead. The fall colors up there were beyond description, and it follows the little river winding back and forth. I got a late start and didn't get much time, but it was just perfect for a chance to get some fresh air, hear the trickle of the brook, and know that when we make an effort to find little parks and traileheads, it's worth it. Apparently, if you take the trail all the way up to the top, you come to what used to be the springs, but after some recent construction, they're not so much accessible springs. I'd like to take that trail all the way up, but for tonight I found a really nice, flat meadow and leaned up near a tree to have some dinner. Back at the park, there are pavilions with lights, restrooms, and that seems to be the big appeal here--the outdoors access and a few pavilions. It's not a huge park with a big playground or anything, but for the trails, the fresh air, the cooler temps... it's just right.

There is a river with some cute bridges for photo opps and kids and adults can enjoy different snow activities during the winter, mostly playing with the slides. Big parking lot and no entry fee.
