    The tree of life

1st nephi 8:10 Ok this place is cool. The wind was billowing when we went and it was frigid. Other than that, hats off to the city of Draper for this one guys.

Another great place to visit at nighttime during Christmas. They have an amazing Christmas light display with thousands of lights and a giant tree called Tree of Light. My daughter love this place!

I used to drive by here all the time, and it's a little park that sorta flies under the radar, except at certain times of the year. The biggest exception to its status as a quiet little green haven is during the holiday season, when it's a bustlin because of the lights. I stopped by tonight to peek at it, as I've usually just avoided the crowds but was feeling festive. Indeed it's very simple--this isn't Temple Square lights or anything--but it's a nice little diversion for a bit of the evening. The main holiday light attraction is the "Tree of Life" which I think is probably more appropriately named the "Tree of Light" as that makes more sense. It's a massive tree that is decked, head to toe, in bright lights. They've added twinkling lights spaced throughout, and it's a huge thing to behold. Kinda makes you wonder how long it takes to wrap a tree like that, and how many people it takes. It's a date spot, and a family spot as well. Grab the kiddos, or grab a pretty girl (or boy, you do you) and have them grab their pretty purple hat (or whatever they need to stay warm) because it's not warm out there most of the time, and there's no place to warm up. Outside of the holidays, you can still have a great time. There's a couple of pavilions, and it's a stone's throw from the library. There are a couple of playground places, including one super high tech one with lights and speakers, and I tried to play it tonight and have no idea what was going on. I'm also not sure I love the idea of a playground that's just technology--isn't a park all about getting outside? Plenty of outside here at this park.

The new playground is amazing. My kids love the huge slides that are 4-5 stories high. There are lots of fun things to play on to keep the kids entertained for hours.

    Beautiful views from the park

A lovely neighborhood park with plenty of amenities, which includes the following: * Baseball field * Beautifully pruned trees * Highly advanced (lights!), safe, and new jungle gym, for the kids. * A running path round the park * Clean bathrooms It seems super safe, too, since it resides near an elderly home and a public library. If I had a family, I'd totally bring them there on the reg.

Great park! There's more than one area for kids to play. There's a play area for small children and another area for bigger kids.

Amazing park! It's huge with so many things to do. The play areas are very well maintained. There's an area for toddlers and another play area for the bigger kids.

    Great playgrounds!

We were in the area and decided to see what Draper City Park might hold for my littles on a Thursday morning. Conclusion? We were delighted. A variety of play areas all grouped together--genius. I could keep an eye on multiple children with different interests. My kids especially loved that there were lots of swings and lots of different slides. I appreciated the huge trees around that offered a good amount of shade to stave off the blistering sun on occasion. Drinking fountains and bathrooms right by the playground are also a plus! I can see us making the extra drive to visit this park again--perhaps even in the evening with a little dinner picnic.

This has been on my bucket list for quite awhile. I finally got to experience the tree of life and it was breathtaking! I live pretty far from Draper so when I drove up to Provo for an event, I knew I HAD to stop by here on the way home. I'm so glad I remembered and googled the address because this was a beautiful moment I shared. I'd highly recommend stopping by during the winter months while the tree is lit and decorated. This was my first time, but it was the prettiest sight I've seen to date.

It's that time of year...Draper Days! Draper park offers so much space for an event like this. Around the park and around the neighborhood there is parking, but it could be a challenge. My favorite part of this park is all the great events that are here. From races to concerts, this is a good spot. Not to mention this is one of the best parks in Draper for kids. Check out the mountain sunrise and sunsets. They are beautiful.

This is a wonderful park! Its large with plenty of grass for kids to run around. The city puts together christmas lights on all the trees in this park. Their crown-n-jewel of christmas tree lights is what has become known as "The Tree of Life". They have a massive tree in the center of the park which they over load with lights on every possible park of the tree. It is a very impressive sight. During the rest of the year, this is a wonderful park. I love just coming here and have picnics and spend quality family time.

Great park! It's well maintained and has plenty of parking. Lots of grassy areas, a play area, walking trails and four baseball fields. During Christmas time they decorate with tons of lights! It's really gorgeous and a must see.

I'm not sure if they know how trains work... ;)

It's in a beautiful location, higher up on the hill and provides you with some breathtaking views. We love how well kept the courts are and it doesn't seem to be as busy as some of the other ones in the valley (cough cough steer clear of the courts in Murray). Plenty of parking, plenty of open grass to run and play in, and it's right off Bangerter Highway--if you keep driving the windy road, you'll end up in Highland/Lehi area and that's beautiful too. I haven't seen any drinking fountains near the courts, but that's not to say they're not near the pavilions or park equipment--but I'd rather be safe than sorry and pack some extra water bottles. All in all, one of my new favorite areas. I can't wait to pack a picnic and return again soon! TIPS & TRICKS: * Lots of shade and benches, but you still don't want to forget sunscreen. * Because of the location, it's much more windy than normal, so be prepared to run a little harder!

I wouldn't be thrilled about the idea of sending kids to this park without supervision...although it's not exactly 'ghetto' like other reviewers have said, there are some 'unsavory' characters hanging out around this particular part of town from time to time.

They seem to be cracking down on the teenage kids to come over to hang out, but in after school hours, you were definitely going to see them in the picnic area I will say, that the picnic area and the playgrounds, and restrooms, are a little more run down and haven't had a lot of sprucing up in the last several years, but they're still tidy and functional. Not necessarily a destination park, but super convenient if you're in the area and want a little green grass, shade, and fresh air.
