They seem to be cracking down on the teenage kids to come over to hang out, but in after school hours, you were definitely going to see them in the picnic area I will say, that the picnic area and the playgrounds, and restrooms, are a little more run down and haven't had a lot of sprucing up in the last several years, but they're still tidy and functional. Not necessarily a destination park, but super convenient if you're in the area and want a little green grass, shade, and fresh air.

It can get busy pretty quick when the weather heats up (there's the downside to the size) but we've never left because of crowds. We just make a point of trying to arrive when it opens (10am?)! Someone else reviewed, claiming it was a great place to go. It's not. There's a whole perimeter of large established trees that blocks most of the view of the entire valley down below. The idea is cool, but you're better off going up to Wasatch or Ensign for a valley view. This wasn't it. I suppose this is where you'd go if you were afraid of fireworks. It was very anticlimactic.

The first amazing surprise is there was no entry fee! We entered the garden and quickly ran into another surprise- a human-sized chess board! My boys wanted to play a game against each other...didn't know it was going to take 45mins...but it was fun to sit and watch and listen to the birds chirping. We then continued our tour around the grounds and saw many wonderful plants, trees, bushes, flowers and more. The grounds are beautifully manicured! There some educational areas where you can learn more about irrigation, landscaping and design. To walk around the garden takes about 30mins, but we spent 1.5hrs here as we took a lot of pictures and asked some questions from the workers. The workers and volunteers were very gracious to answer our questions and teach us more about the garden. You can tell they love their job and they love visitors. At the end of the tour, I made sure to drop a little cash in their donation box. Thanks Conservation Garden Park for the great time!

There's almost no one that ever visits simultaneously so you're almost guaranteed a serene place to yourself. Come a few times a year to experience the garden a little differently every time and enjoy the various fragrant flowers throughout the season, learn a bit more about water conservation and Utah native gardening, and enjoy the wildlife from quail to squirrels to butterflies and bees -- I flinched most around the bees the first couple times visiting but I've stopped completely as they are very honed in on the task at hand . It's always such a peaceful visit. The only thing that would make it better would be if the road noise could completely disappear but that's the trade off for getting something so wonderful, completely for free, without having to drive far.

Some very fond memories of my dad getting the old inner tubes, blowing them up, and tubing down. He took my little brothers a couple times and I went as a pre-teen and the hill seemed much smaller then. As a teen, my first ever paying job was here. Again, it was still a school, and they had baseball diamonds where I was an umpire for tee-ball. Such memories. When they got rid of the school, I was curious to see what would happen. What sprung up in its place was a park that the next generation of kids will have to fill their memories. Instead of the school, and a winter-only sledding hill, this is a full-blown summer park. Apparently splash pads are a thing. Safer than a pool (at least for drowning) and still built to keep you cool in the heat of the summer, there's a big ol' splash pad here that's built for the little ones to stomp around and get wet. Bring the sunscreen. As others have mentioned, there's a lack of shade here, so you'll want to protect yourself from the sun. And it's probably best as a weekday reprieve. It swarms with kids on the weekends and you might get elbowed around. Beyond the splash pad, you've got some playgrounds that are geared towards different aged kids, some courts, and a whole lot of grass.
