There's a big difference between RV parks and mobile home parks. RV parks typically cater to short term vacationers or passers-through. Mobile home parks tend to lean toward the longer-term residential type environment. Mountain Shadows tries to marry the two, and it's awkward. When we first checked in Friday evening, the young lady at the front desk was extremely friendly and made us feel welcome. We were so excited to have found a RP park in town-a little "staycation" if you will. We got set up and quickly noticed that many of our neighbors appeared to be in for the long haul. And not too long after our arrival, the police paid a visit to one of the neighbors. That was a little unnerving. Later that evening, my son and I wanted to borrow some DVDs from the office so we walked down. The friendly face from a few hours earlier was gone and replaced with an extremely unpleasant, angry woman. She did not look up from her phone when we walked in the door and tossed it aside angrily when we came to the counter to check out our movies. She made sure to let us know a number of times that she was having a bad day and that things could not get any worse. She kept losing track of where she put things-dropping stacks of paper on the floor, tossing her pen in a frustrated manner and eventually throwing her hands up in the air and exclaiming "I give up!" We were very uncomfortable and felt like we were a burden to her. The next day, my son and I returned the DVDs and stayed to play pool-the first young lady was back, so we didn't feel to fearful of hanging around. Only one pool cue could be found, so we passed it back and forth. While we were there, we observed many interactions with guests and staff (the nice young lady and another young guy were manning the office that day). They were both very pleasant. Based on the conversations I heard, my theory about longer term residents was confirmed. Most everyone was there to pay their "rent" and talked to each other as regulars, not vacationers. On the plus side, it was very quiet both nights we were there. I'd imagine, since this is most of these people's homes, they don't prefer to stay up late socializing or throwing parties. However, the overall feeling of the place is dismal. I felt like I was intruding on people's lives by coming in for a short weekend stay. If you're looking for a spot to stay while traveling through, this may be a place to consider, but be aware of what the park really is. If you're cool with that, then you'll be just fine. read more

We gave a 3 because the staff were great, very friendly and nice, otherwise would rate as a 2, for these reasons: our spot is right next to the overflowing trash cans, no "dumpster". Our RV is parked directly in front of the pet "potty" area and we didn't even bring pets, our RV is 5 feet from a resident RV, very uncomfortable. We didn't get to upgrade our RV spot or even get to select the RV site we wanted. There are 9 RV rental spots that are located in the residential area/monthly area, making our stay feel uncomfortable. On the positive there is a pool, there are washing machines, 2 showers and bathrooms that are open, super friendly/nice staff. read more

Avoid this RV Park at all costs!  I made a W/E reservation at this park months in advance only to discover the clerk at check in forced me into a FHU spot.  So instead of the agreed 45/night, it was 70/night!  The reason I was given was because the water was not working in the less expensive site.  I explained I could fill up my fresh water tank, then went and looked at the "site" and it was nothing but regular sized passenger vehicle parking!  There was no way my 27 foot class c would fit, I explained this to the "supervisor", she seemed to be unmoved by my dissatisfaction and would not budge on the price of the FHU site at all!  1/2 block away is the very busy and noisy I-15, and sites are about 6-8 feet next to each other!  Poor customer service, very noisy, and way to close to the next camper make this campground hell. read more

A clean and quiet RV park with friendly and helpful staff. The sites are quite small and some are not level. I have stayed there 5 times during the past 7 years. Each time there was no WI-FI. They always say it's being worked on. If reliable WI-FI is important to you don't go here. read more

Not really. They started us out at 1050.00 a month and beginning in May, it goes up to 1500.00!!!!!! On an income of SSDI, we have to move!

Well, it turns out that they won't let you choose your campsite, so we have never gone back.

Ok...so I read the reviews after our friends booked this place for an overnight stop. It was too late to change reservations, so I just held my breath. After reading the reviews I was very nervous about what to expect. When we arrived the staff was very friendly and helped us to navigate gas stations and grocery stores (even printed a map). The entry was well manicured with green grass and a small waterfall. They had a small store inside the office to buy miscellaneous sundries and a pool table adjacent to the office. They gave us the appropriate size spaces for our Trailers (we have a 33') and they were all pull throughs. I was worried about the fwy noise but i really didn't hear it when we went to sleep. Some of the permanent residents have bought those tiny homes (see pictures) which really added to the park. There is a pool with a jacuzzi and a nice picnic area next to it. I didn't use the shower area but heard it was clean. We were parked towards the front of the park, which was nice. If you go further in there are permanent residence and it is not as nice but we were happy where we were. There was also two nice picnic table for each RV spot but you have to share the grass area. CONS: our space had about 20 ft of grass between our front doors so there wasn't much privacy. We were about 7' away from our other RV neighbors so we left the blinds shut on that side. We could open our porch cover all the way but I could tell some other spots were too tight for that. They have a nice dog area up front and a gated gravel dog run on the side. I didn't bring my dogs into the gravel area because it looked pretty nasty. The trees are large and great for shade, but we couldn't get out on satellite. For one night we didn't care. We stopped here for one night while passing through the area. The 2 men at the check in were friendly and helpful. We were able to get a pull through site which was clean and easy. The park was quiet and the people we encountered were nice. One note: the electrical was 50 amp only. They would have loaned us an adapter but also had one for sale at a good price so we just bought one. They indicated that many RV parks are going this route so word to the wise. There was also a Camping World next door if you are there during business hours. read more

MOUNTAIN SHADOWS RV PARK WAS THE WORST RV PARK EVER !!!!! We arrived later at 11pm and our check in packet was missing the key to the bathrooms. We only decided to stay at a rv resort so we could use the showers and bathrooms before getting back on the road the next day. Of course I tried to call someone but they have no staff that answers the phones after they close. They open at 9am but I decided to walk to the front desk around 8:30 am and see if I could grab a shower key before we depart for our voyage. This is when I met the worst front desk employee of my life. Her name is Corina and she is terrible. I explained that I wanted to take a shower before getting on the road and I was never given a key. She explained to me that there was a key with my check in instructions but someone must have stolen it. Ok I understand that could happen but can you let me into the showers or give me a key? She says "NO, I HAvE TO WAIT TILL 9AM". Seriously.... You have a guest here that has ran into an issue and you can fix it but you want ME your late check in guest have to wait 30min until I can take a shower? I have never encountered anyone in hospitality, that had such an entitled rude attitude as CORINA. I actually had a guest staying at the resort that asked CORINA if he could let me into the bathrooms to take a shower. She has no idea how to do her job or serve her guest. After asking for her name to talk to a manager she insisted I leave. I talked with another guest at the resort and he said he also had issues with CORINA. On top of the terrible guest service from CORINA, our electrical hook up didn't work, the bathrooms were dirty, your right next to your neighbors and the highway is a stone throw away. PLEASE IF YOU DO ANYTHING GET RID OF CORINA AND MAYBE YOUR THIS PLACE WILL BE BETTER TO STAY AT. read more

Why this park has an ability to participate in Good Sam and rated a 9 is totally beyond me because of the trailer park located there. 70 percent of this area is trashy and there is a long term trailer park that surrounds the RV park section. There are a few nicer spots centrally located but the back area and the sides surrounding the RV park are long term campers and trailers, many of which are in poor repair and trash all around. If you have another option, take it. read more

TERRIBLE BEWARE. Worst experience we have ever had. First off no one told us where the bathrooms were in check in but we told them we needed a bathroom key card because we don't have facilities in our trailer. I got sick last night and spent 25 minutes looking for the bathrooms because they aren't located in the right place on the map. Once I get there the key card doesn't work!!!!!!! So I spent the night driving back and forth to gas stations because I couldn't use the facilities I was paying for. Absolutely ridiculous, and infuriating.... On top of that Sights are basically on top of each other, smallest sights we've ever seen. It's hard to drive on their streets because everyone's car is hanging out. Their "dog run" is a 6x8 actual pile of rocks with a "fence" and your dog has to stay leashed in there. They have a pool but you have to pay $2 per person per use.... Soooooo unbelievably over priced and horribly ran. They did refund $20 for the card not working in the bathroom after a big ordeal but even at $35 (price after refund) it was way over priced for what you get. DO NOT STAY HERE read more

They will rip you off on your power bill. I am in a small 25 ft trailer and they just charged me $230 dollars for 4 months of power. That is ridiculous! One spot i was only at for 15 days. Something shady is going at this place and i will be contacting the owners and reporting it. as of right now i do not recommend them. It is a nice place and people are genuinely pretty nice here but the power is out of control not to mention a power serge I had which i am sure they will charge me for. read more

1981 built RV park. The back half is permanent mobile homes. The front has RV sites and some are permanent residents. It's not a place I want to stay again. They now have "tiny homes" in the RV area too. People are allowed to park vehicles out into the park streets so it's hard to get our 5th wheel in and out. The park is lax. I made a large pull thru site reservation months ago for 1 nite in pull thru and when we checked in yesterday I was given a tiny site and we had to go complain to office because hookups were on the wrong side of coach. We had pulled in as we were told to do. We first were told they were full up. !! We had a reservation lol. Then they "found" one space. I would describe this park as a dump. This is a busy urban campground and about the only choice for many miles. The people are nice and they try to be accommodating, including having three 30AMP electric only sites along the main entrance road. We ended up in a pull thru, which are 50AMP side by side full hookup sites that can be difficult to get into or out of without some jockeying around. These sites will hold a 40-45' RV with tow vehicle and each does have a picnic table. The location was close to everything, including being walking distance to Camping World. read more

The park is tightly packed with MANY long term stay residents, surrounded by permanent mobile homes. RVs share utility stripes on one side and share a stripe of grass with 2 picnic tables on the other side, so NO privacy for meals or sitting outside. This was too claustrophobic for me: coming off my front steps, I'm already in my neighbors 'yard' and vice versa. I am not a sardine. The park is clean, well maintained, lovely vegetation. In the office, the office people were great. read more

This RV resort was very small. It did serve its purpose for the one night that we stayed. We originally booked two nights but decided to leave early. The staff at the resort was very pleasant and did refund half of our nightly cost which was not expected but much appreciated. There was a large grass pet area, however it was not fenced. There was also a designated fenced pet area but this was very small behind the pool. One saving grace is that this park is less than a half a mile from a very large off leash dog park which our dogs loved. There were numerous full-time residents in this RV park and even some tiny homes. read more

We stayed in pull-through full-hookup concrete pad site #170. Our electrical post stated that it is a "luxury" site. This description seemed to be overly generous, but the site was long and very level. Price was a little expensive at $63.00/night even with the Good Sam discount. Lots of long term residents around the perimeter of the park. We spoke to one of them and she was very nice. Clean bathrooms. Secured laundry room had quite a few machines and it was only $1.50 to dry. Free campground wifi was slow and intermittent. We decided not to use it after our VPN service was unable to connect at the site. No cable available but we were able to program 50+ crystal clear over the air TV channels. My AT&T phone had 3 bars and my wife's Verizon phone had 5 bars. Lots of DVDs available for checkout in the office. Campground is located in the city right off I-15, so there are many nearby grocery and restaurant options. Camping World is right down the road within walking distance. Spa and pool are currently unavailable. Road noise was quite loud. read more

This is a combo mobile / RV park, had not stayed before and would not stay again... noticed the review comments re: trash, saw the same... The staff seemed good, helpful, and got us in quickly. Chief concern with this park is the spacing between sites... had not seen such narrow spacing since rving to Alaska several years ago. Very difficult to get into/out of, once into, could not open the water panel, fortunately only there for a night. read more

The place is a dump, your door faces your neighbors & theres no room to breathe. Theres tons of residents here and very old decrepit campers. Spots are nearly impossible to get into, now I understand why they don't want you coming in late. I sure screwed up coming here. Their website is a complete lie! read more

Note to self: Check the online reviews before giving a credit card for a non refundable reservation deposit. Internet was STILL down, and of course I'm also not told until after checking in and have paid. When I saw the condition of the park, I cancelled all but the first night, since I was going to be charged anyway. Sites are soooooo close together, you cannot put out your awning without hitting the trailer next to you. I had to be extremely careful not to step in the HUGE fresh oil spot right where I needed to unhitch. And I loved being woke up at 12:30 am by the lady next door yelling at "Larry". I ended up going 15 minutes up the Highway to Pony Express for the remainder of my stay. Brand new park, with grass and large pads. And CLEAN! Base price was the same as Mountain Shadows' discounted Good Sam rate. read more

Got all checked after a 3 day trip from Texas, the weather up here was phenomenal not at all the cold temperatures everyone warned us about. My beast fit nicely in space 162 and the little ball of energy at the desk today was very helpful, thanks for all the ideas Angel. Excited to see the temple and all the beautiful sites Salt Lake has to offer. Bathrooms and facilities are clean and my kids have been enjoying all the neighbors. Good people, Good Park! If you like staying in a parking lot along side of Highway 15, you'll love this place! We couldn't have been more disappointed as it does not live up to its advertisement. RVs are packed in like sardines in a can. Dump on one side and electric on the other side of site. Deep curbs that our Class C got stuck and could not pull out onto street. I would never come here again. Can't wait until morning when we can leave. read more

Let the poor reviews speak for themselves. I concur with most but want to add that the lady who checked us in was not very friendly and gave the appearance of not really enjoying her job. We had booked a one night stay on our way to Idaho with a planned stay on the return trip. After checking in we realized that this is mainly a full-timer park which is obvious by the clutter and trashy looking yards around the park. Obviously there are no rules about keeping your site tidy, neat and clean. However, there ARE rules about using the pool and spa. You must first go to the office, sign a paper acknowledging the rules like "no peeing in the pool", etc, etc. And then you have to get a wristband put on to enter the rather small pool area which closes at 7:45 pm. And at 7:45, they check-in lady comes out with back up to say, "get out, the pools closed". Appeared to be in a hurry to get back to her smoke break and getting off at 8:00 pm sharp. The comments about tight spaces are true. You have to be careful when putting your slide out not to hit your nieghbors. Needless to say, we cancelled our return stay while we could. My reviews are generally positive ones but I call them like I see them. My recommendation is drive 30 minutes further to the Salt Lake City KOA. read more

This RV park is advertising one of their amenities being they have wifi. Their wifi is little to none. Other then that it's a nice park for being in a city. RV Park should not say they have wifi if if guest can't get on there wifi. I prefer to stay in parks with wifi. read more

Saw mixed reviews for this place after it was booked. More bad then good. We reserved two weeks prior. Arrived and the guy said we were due the night before. We pulled the print out of our reservation for that day. He then said he couldn't find it in their system. Then he found it and said we were booked in the overflow with limited hook up. We left and had a nice stay at the KOA 20 miles down the road. Much happier there. Do yourself a favor and take the chance with these scammers. read more

If you need a quick place to pitch a tent for the night, this place is a decent. The restrooms/showers are clean, nice, and they do not charge you to use the shower. So no need to worry about throwing in quarters for a quick shower. Plus, there's a pool, jacuzzi, store, washers and dryers, play yard for kids, well kept large grass dog area, free Wi fi, a computer for anyone to use, and small recreation center with a pool table and a few arcade games. I think that is a good deal for deal for only $18. I forgot to mention that the tent sites are only a large grass area, with the I 15 close by, so you'll get the highway noise. So OK, there are draw backs. read more

We stay here because it's about the only choice in the entire area. But it is jammed tight next to your neighbor and like the other reviews state it's just mostly for long term people. An extension of the trailer park. Family of course comes first. The people are nice and how can you have control over this many people. I'm a dog lover but people here don't seem to care about keeping their dogs on a leash and some don't bother to pick up after them. The safety of the kids playing in the middle of the main street threw the park is more than dangerous! Maybe that's the parents problem. I guess the problem is to many people and dogs for the size of the space. read more

Nice park but VERY NOISY. Do not plan to sleep later than 5 AM Harleys with loud pipes at 5 AM. Motorcycles, trucks, doors slamming. Many construction workers living here leaving for work. Not really a campground but more like an active mobile home park. Very disappointed when its called a quiet place, it is not.. WiFi does not work at all. I found staff friendly. Owners should be more truthful in advertising. When i asked managet about all the noise at 5 AM. She stated. Thats just the way it is.. read more

Great location from freeway, shopping and outdoor activities. Convenience store in office, friendly staff, shower facilities, upgraded laundry facilities. The park is quiet and beautiful with grass, a dog park and large trees with plenty of shade for those warm summer days. There is a pool/jacuzzi and playground for families enjoyment. Reasonable rates and staff is wonderful at making everyone feel welcome. Been staying here off and on over the last 18 years and one of my favorite parks. read more

Booked a "Luxury" pull through several months in advance. Upon arrival I get the last spot in the park, a very narrow, uneven piece of asphalt with a tree too close for comfort. No room to put out the awning, no picnic table, and had to get the guy next to us to move his truck so we could pull in and then ask him to disconnect his trailer from our sewer line. The park is almost all full timers who work construction. They start firing up their trucks to go to work about 6 am so you wont need an alarm. I am glad we only booked for one night while enroute to Phoenix and we stayed at a much nicer park in Provo on the way back. read more
