I've always had good experiences...particularly w their package specials. Used them 4 times in 7 years. Only reason they're not 5-star is that I noticed the selection of "bargain" frames is much smaller this visit. Perhaps economic conditions? First off...thank you Fe for the great customer service! Fe embodies great customer service! She was very kind and helpful. It was my first time getting glasses and I WAS NOT impressed with the customer service when I first walked into Linden. Some of the workers were just pointing me where to go, rather than actually helping me and leading me to the right direction. Since it was my first time there, I was completely lost and I got in line in the wrong lines and wasted my time. Just a helpful tip to some of the workers there: a little goes a long way, a simple smile and the willingness to help someone can really make a difference when it comes to customer service. I find pointing very rude and I am sure other customers feel the same way too. Thanks to Dr. Mayo and Fe, who helped me find my glasses, it turned my negative experience into a positive one. I don't usually write reviews but this debacle needs to be shared. My appt was rescheduled as the dr was sick, I get that, I have a business it happens! So I asked for same time a week later, I have a class then another appt so this time suits best. No cant do 9.45, just 10.15 which doesn't work for me... Ok then come at 9.40.. Great... A handful of texts, emails and confirmation calls later all saying 10.15 I call twice to be certain it's 9.40.. No we don't do 9.40, oh yes it's in the notes it's 9.40!!!! I leave class early to ensure I'm on time so I don't inconvenience the dr and I wait and wait and wait... Finally at 10.10 I ask to speak with someone who says the dr had just arrived... Really??? I thought my appt was 35 mins ago.. Now, like I say I have a small business and an appt system that I bend over backwards for our guests so I get it, and things do happen unexpectedly... But I guessed they were bs-ing me so I pushed my next appt back 15 mins and took my book! And low and behold I get taken at 10.15!!! When I told the dr my appt was 9.40 and I have another appt she said there was traffic... Sorry... Come on! I got there on time, in same traffic so as not to inconvenience her.. And since I'm the paying customer shouldn't that be my prerogative? Not buying that excuse.. It's LA! I tell my staff early is on time, on time is late and late is unacceptable ...I think it's a Disney saying.. It's so unfortunate that larger businesses can run a meat market with little to no customer or personal service and yet the small business sector works twice as hard for 1/2 the business... This was really quite an unacceptable shoddy experience! Shame on them! read more

Reason for 4 stars due to one person named Mel. Waiting was little longer than I expected after the exams was done, I had to wait for my insurance to clear. Mel was very helpful try to find a frame for me he did very well. I certainly hope in future when patients call in I hope someone to pick up the phone. read more

This update is a bit delayed but I did want to thank the manager who responded. I had no idea that businesses could contact a post but the day after I posted the first review, I received an apologetic call. Luz, the manager had looked into our problems & offered recompense. Although there was a subsequent, unexpected issue, she continued to follow up & keep in contact. Eventually my husband's glasses were completed & I hope in the future we won't have such a hassle. I got two pair of glasses from this place and I'm starting to suspected that one of them is a fake. I've been using this brand of glasses for a while now and I got over 12 pairs of them so I know how they feel and fit. So when I got the one from Linden's, I knew something was off. For anyone getting new glasses avoid this place like the plague you'll wish you never walked in. Go to Lens Crafter, Costco or Sears they got what Linden doesn't, good customer service, and you'll have peace of mind know yours frames are real. read more

This place is a bandaid fix at best for your vision needs. They will sneak in fees not covered by your insurance. They will make you wait an ungodly amount of time even if you have an appointment. They will shuttle you between 5 different people and 8 different rooms in one visit. You will question internally if everything is being done 100% accurately and with 100% care of patient in mind. But, if you need to be seen same day because your contacts ran out, you lost your glasses or your vision insurance is about to end, this is your Mecca. Just don't expect anything to arrive by a particular date or deadline and you won't be disappointed. I'll admit I've been here a few times but it's the store-brand bandaid fix to the above mentioned situations only. read more

My husband and I have been going to Linden for about 12 years. Glaucoma runs in both sides of our family so we never miss an annual check up. We have have never had anything but excellent service at Linden -- from the receptionist to to the cashier, every point of contact is a positive experience. Yes, the place is big, if you go in the middle of the day, there will be a wait, that should be expected anywhere. I can't understand when people complain, I just figure their expectations are not logical. This week I was faced with having to provide my insurance company with copies of two transaction receipts from last year. They weren't big amounts, but I was at a standstill with the insurance company until I provided the copies. I called and had the pleasure of being helped by Mercedes. The receipt was not easy to find because it was buried within 2 other transactions. Mercedes never left me wondering what was happening, she faxed and called me until I had what I needed. She was not going to give up until I was a happy customer. I was thoroughly impressed and pleased -- THANKS again Mercedes! Linden may be big, but they know what great customer service is. It shows in their employees, every time we call or visit. read more

This place has a wide selection of prescription sunglasses and reading glasses. It has state of the art facility. It could be crowded sometimes especially during the weekends with a very long wait during optometry exam. I love the eye doctors here but the glass section is a different story. A year ago I paid in full for my glasses to be made here. They promised me completion within 7 days. It took them 45 days to tell me the status of my glasses. One year forward and now I again gave them another chance and again promised 7 days call them after 7 days was told it needs to go out for reflecting cover on the glasses. Will be ready in 5 days. I called again 7 days later I was told the same story and the lady I was talking to hung up on my face when I asked for her name. ABSOLUTELY the worse place you want to have your glasses made. I ordered a pair of glasses one month ago and they are still not ready. They keep blaming my insurance company for the delay and offer no further assistance. They seem to be always in a rush and I feel like they can't end the conversation and hang up fast enough. I called for the status of my order and the response was " we have too many patients right now we'll call you back" apparently waiting for a whole month is not long enough. Terrible customer support. If your glasses break they will not have common parts for things like the side arms (temples), and expect you to order an entire frame. That is, if you are lucky enough that the frame you bought a year ago is even stocked anymore. It looks all in, a supermarket of lenses and lovely frames but the business model is designed to hit your insurance and copays for the maximum profit. If a simple accident happens, you're screwed. It's like if your side mirror on your Toyota 2015 Camry was knocked off and the dealer said, LOL, we only sell 2017s now, buy a new car noob! read more

The previous reviews are correct about this place. The service is horrible. They have plenty of employees just walking around aimlessly yet no one is capable of helping you except for a few. And those employees are angry because they are slammed. And even with insurance this place charges more than most others. Simply a huge selection of frames is not enough to offset all of the other flaws with this place. I even spoke with a manager several times and all she did was smile and nod and agree with me. The film on mine started peeling off after two months and now I have to repair them myself as I moved. They pick up so much dirt compared to my old pair of glasses that had no add ons. The clerk who helped me was also great she was straight forward of what benefits are better for me when choosing glasses. I got contact by supervisor I gave them 2nd chance it's getting worse, my sunglasses so thick but the employee tried to convince me that was high index lens, because my sunglasses big and prescription high. I have been using high index for years. She kept me waiting for hour that she has to check with insurance which I didn't even use my insurance. Finally she called her supervisor over. Of course I have to wait for 1 more week and pay more to upgrade. How can I ordered 2 pairs of eyeglasses as the same time but one is high index and the other not , specially the sunglasses's bigger frame. After all the drama and waited I got $20 off wows. I used to come here for glasses maybe 15 or so years ago. At that time, I thought this place was amazing, compared to other optometrists. I raved to friends about the efficiency, speed, quality, and pricing. I had laser correction, then, and I just now am getting around to seeing about fixing some minor far-sightedness that had developed since. Except for speed, I can't say any of my old observations are true any more. I spent $300 on glasses that appear to do nothing at all for my eyesight. Yes, they still have all the efficiency of specialized people at multiple stations, so you go from station to station, do their thing, and by the end, you have your prescription. Except this time: 1. The people manning the stations back then seemed busy, professional, and competent. Now, I felt they were uncaring, gruff, impatient, and apparently both less than caring and less than professional in terms of technical result. 2. Questions were most often met with incomprehensible mutterings, rather than clear answers. 3. Shockingly, little seems to have changed with the equipment at the various stations in 15+ years. I'd read of a variety of advances, but not in evidence here. Some of it looked very worn out. That, along with the lower quality of morale, seems to say that perhaps long-term cost-cutting has resulted in this problem. 4. And the most telling: the glasses do nothing. Or, rather, they do SOMETHING, but whatever that is, it doesn't correct anything about my vision. And, from their current Yelp rating, it's obvious there are better reviewed, and hopefully more competent and caring providers now in the area. I'd recommend looking into that. read more

Rose is one exceptional employee. Very professional, efficient, courteous and a true asset to the company. Glasses had to be fixed and she ensured all was done on time and sent to me out of state. I have been going to Dr. Linden's for over 15 years and Rose has been the best experience so far. Love everything about Dr. Linden's but Rose will make me come back for more. In january i paid 600+ $ fr 4 pair of lenses to upgrade frames i had to new rx. they got it wrong over and over from then til 3 weeks ago,I thought i was going blind i couldn't read with any of the new lenses, after trying to divert me for many visits i had a new rx written and first it was insurance so takes longer for one pair one pair technician broke etc etc almost a year later i have all 4 pair and can sees thru both sunglasses 2 and bifocals 2 .I did have to add 128 more $ to include computer glasses into regular vision glasses really upset me each visit ,,of which there were dozens ,,, read more

I have been coming here for over 26 yrs Doctors are great most of the ones we have seen. Things have certainly changed. Poor customer service, Very unfriendly receptionist gets worse once you are sent to waiting area where girls behind counter look upset and unfriendly avoiding eye contact to avoid being asked questions. So rude and unwelcoming, like I want to be there on my Saturday for 4 hours (unpaid)To make matters worse I had scheduled an appt 2-3 wks prior to get a specific doctor and waited 4 hours. The girl that totally had no interest and looked bothered to take my med hx puts me in with the wrong doctor that I was not scheduled with and did not inform me knowing this. Didn't explain what was about to happen or even apologize or attempt to fix this situation. The doctor I saw had no idea I was scheduled with a specific doctor until I informed her. Also that person lied that I did not want the dilation done which was part of the reason for coming in as it was recommended by my PCP. I never received a call to from linden optometrist in regards to this. the doctor did mention she was going to let the girl that lied about the eye test that I supposedly declined per her notes. I'm at Linden's waiting room as we speak. I'm not sure why I keep on coming here for glasses. Even with appointment, waiting time is at least 50 minutes. Don't have the time for that. Service is bad and people are not really friendly... They seem to be running and very busy to even Listen to what we are saying... It will definitely be my last time here. Ever!! Well... 1 hour later and I'm walking out. I won't wait more than 1 hour for an appointment. My time is as important as theirs. read more

Follow my instructions, and you will be fine. Only buy frames at Linden, nothing else: 1) Go to a well regarded optometrist at their doctor's office somewhere else to get your prescription. I had mine done at Linden and while the service was professional and courteous, the prescription was so far off I couldn't see out of my left lens. It was way worse than the 8+ year old pair of back-up glasses I've been wearing until my new ones came in. There is no explanation for this other than incompetence on the part of the doctor. 2) Go to Linden to select your frames, they have the most up to date and widest selection of anyone around. (I give them 5 stars for this part only.) If you want to save money, you can try Target Optical or similar since those places are always having sales. But you'll likely get better frames from Linden. 3) Take the frames to an optician with high ratings on Yelp. I ordered glasses at Linden and when I arrived to pick them up, they had ordered the wrong color frames. Between taking a number to wait for service, then being seated while the optician helping me disappeared for 20 minutes without any indication what was taking so long, and then having to have my prescription redone AGAIN, I wasted 90 minutes doing what should have taken 60 seconds. I also requested that the lenses NOT be inserted in the frames so that I could polish the frames first, but they didn't listen despite my request and the note on my order. Additionally, as I was leaving, I noticed the frame they were trying to sell me was scratched pretty badly across the nose piece. This is horrible service for a business where I just spent over $700 for an eye exam and 2 pairs of glasses. I now have to wait another week for them to fix their mistakes and hope they don't screw the whole thing up again. BUYER BEWARE. read more

I now have to endure the endless wait again next week before they will finally release my over priced lenses. I have been customer of this business since begining of 2001. Mine and my family wife and two kids were all using services of Linden since then. For last 33 years both me and my wife have been using transition lenses. My wife had got a frame and transition lenses spending a nice amount of money from this business. the said frame was not being used regularly as she has more than one pair. A few months back she observed that the glasses were getting foggy at bottom so we went to linden who said that they warranted them only for one year and must be because of not proper maintenance on our behalf and they could make new ones for 20 % discount. In last 33 years I have never seen such a condition in transition or photochromatic lenses. They just gave us manufacturers name and website. I contacted the manufacturer whose representative was much more couteous than linden salesperson and supervisor. and asked me to mail them the lenses with current prescription. Today I received them duly replaced. My point being that if Linden expects us to be their customers they should not be passing us on to the manufacturer and could respond to the customer need in better way. I know that 4 customers may not matter to them but they have surely lost our family business forever. read more

I give this place 1 star because of their customer service. As far as their choices of different brands for frames and contacts I would give 4 stars. They also have really great hours and are open 7 days a week. The reason for a 1 overall is because I've had to drive 4 times out to this place in less than a month because their staff is a hot mess and can't get anything together. Everyone gives you BS and when you explain to them why you are upset and dissatisfied they look at you like you're crazy. My family of 4 will no longer be coming here, I will tell the people I have already recommended to come here not come after all and will no longer recommend you at all but instead bad mouth you. This place is cool because they have every brand and stock most contact lenses. Staff seems nice only complaint I have is when you're waiting in line there are always at least 4 to 6 staff members in front of you and not one will look at you or greet you right away. So you end up standing there for a good 5 mins before someone actually asks if you need help. You know a good "hello, we'll help you in a min" would help a lot! This happened with ALL the patients I see walk up. Staff is nice when you do finally get assistance. read more

Dr. Wong is an EXCELLENT doctor. He treated me for a blurred vision case that seemed difficult to handle. His consistency in treatment and professionalism landed me with an outside specialist however he was instrumental in ensuring I got proper treatment and truly cared for my well being. First eye exam ever and it was a pleasant experience. The optometrist was soooo nice and the wait time was very short. 20/20 vision

I went in for a pair of glasses which I rarely wear, however, felt it was important to have as a backup. I was asked to remove and throw away my contacts for an eye exam and that I would be provided with a new pair afterwards. Everything went well until I was checking out and KATIE the cashier rang me an additional almost $60 for a "fitting fee" for the contacts they provided me with. I explained to her that I was asked by the physician to remove MY contacts and toss them out for the exam and that she provided me with a pair afterwards. KATIE became extremely rude and said the only way to "waive the fitting fee is for you to remove the contacts lens we gave you". Again I explain the situation and that I did not go in for contacts, as a matter of fact I had received a brand new supply that very same day which I order from lens.com. KATIE, insisted that I remove my contacts and drive home blind as a bat or pay the fitting fee. Finally, she spoke to the physician and stated that I can keep the contacts but hand back the small bag of complementary supplies (which I did not need anyways). So I handed her the bag and she charged me the correct fee for the glasses. KATIE does not belong in the front especially handling customers. Worse customer service ever. I've been going to this place for over 20 years and have never been treated this way. Please put KATIE in a position that does not require her to come in contact with customers or have her re-trained. I did speak to a supervisor who seemed sympathetic to the situation and was very kind. Over all this place would get 5 stars and that is why I've gone there for so many years, however, KATIE provided me with such a bad experience especially in front of other customers, it was extremely embarrassing and uncomfortable. I had very bad experience in this place. It was time to upgrade my prescription glasses so I stopped by this store, just because it's the closest to my place, to do eye exam. First, the workers in the frond desk are rude and lack good education. Second, to complete the eye exam they needed to take my vision glasses to check its power. They returned to me with the lenses SCRATCHED. Very poorly trained on their jobs. Very unprofessional behavior when I tried to understand what happened or get the issue resolved. Overall, the place is poorly managed. They definitely deserve filing a complaint against them to the authorities that issue their license. I definitely consider taking this action now. read more

Their orders are backed up for weeks. Short staffed. Didn't receive the one-on-one attention I expected in selecting my first EVER pair of glasses. I put a stop order the same day because I changed my mind about the frame. Person who answered the phone said, "Don't worry, I've pulled the order" and made another appointment for me to come in and pick a different frame. She seemed rushed, so I asked her to please make a note of the cancellation on the computer. She said she would. When I went into my appointment weeks later, they gave me the glasses I CANCELLED, and said nobody noted anything on the computer. I had to start over again! I had to wait weeks for another appointment. They said it would take weeks to get them. I called 2 weeks later for the heck of it, and my glasses were already in but nobody had called me. When I went through the drive-through to pick them up, they took forever and made me park and wait because they couldn't find my glasses. When they finally found them, I asked if they could adjust them a bit. Dude proceeds to tell me I would have to make another appointment just for that. Then, another nice technician overheard and adjusted on the spot. It took him 30 seconds. I can't believe the other guy at the drive-through was going to make me make an appointment weeks down the line just for that. He just didn't want to go out of his way to get someone to help me when he knew it would literally take seconds! Ugh! They are pricey, they make too many mistakes, and they just seem short-staffed. read more

I get this establishment gets hectic very early and throughout the day, but her patience and overall positive disposition was noticeable. I came in for a contact exam and she helped me decide what would be the best option for getting the most out of my vision insurance. She ended up helping me get a better deal with little to pay on my end. I also took her advice and got an array of colors instead of just one for 4 1/2 month worth of boxes (as opposed to getting just 1 box) I love that she gave honest opinions and managed to help multiple customers with the same care.
