Today is 11/18/2011 (Friday).
This Yelp review is for: Linden Optometry.
It's located at 477 E Colorado Blvd; Pasadena, CA 91101. There's 2 entrances.
Yes, they definitely function like a "corporation" as they claim.
No, they are not "professional" as they claim. (At least not a few of the people I dealt with). There was a brochure that I picked up. It was a "TELL US HOW WE'RE DOING" type of paper brochure. Unfortunately, I did NOT have time to fill it out on paper; so that's why I'm telling you how you're doing ONLINE. I'll also have more space and time to write my review.
WARNING: IF YOU PLAN ON GETTING CONTACTS, DON'T GO TO LINDEN !!! (you've been warned)

[CONTACT LENSES @ Linden] - 1 star
I would've given them 0 stars (zero stars), but they had something redeeming...which I'll explain later.
WARNING: IF YOU PLAN ON GETTING CONTACTS, DON'T GO TO LINDEN. Linden = No to contacts! If you are expecting to get your contacts that same day, you will NOT get it at Linden. If you are like me (and most people), you are expecting to get your contact prescription that same day. Unfortunately, here at Linden Optometry, you will NOT get your CONTACTS PRESCRIPTION THAT SAME DAY!!! I repeat: If you want and/or need to get your contact lens prescription asap, then DON'T go to Linden! You will have to wait up to 1 or 2 weeks, just to get your contact lens prescription! This is extremely and utmost R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S !!! Ridiculous, do you hear us Linden?!??!!??!!! All the other optometry places I went to, they gave me my contact lens prescription --- that same day!
Here's what happens:
You go in there to the front desk. You make an appointment for an eye exam. You fill out some paperwork. They ask you if you're insured or not. You come back for your appointment. You wait. An employee calls you up, leads you to a hallway, into one of the rooms. You do your eye exam. The very first time I came in for my eye exam, the door was closed...all the other times, the door was left opened. Afterwards, if you want contact lenses, they tell you to go the area for contacts. It's this area where there is a "rectangular open countertops" that are connected. You sit at one of this tables. In this optometry place, they push "Freshlook" contacts. Usually, an optometry place will push one brand of contacts; it's usually Freshlook or Acuvue. I DON'T like it at all, when they push/advertise one specific or any specific brand! I'm an adult, I paid for it, I'll pick my own dang brand!!! I have my preference, that's Acuvue (smaller, better fit, colors are more opaque, more affordable, etc.) I had to visit Linden optometry several times (unfortunately). You try on some contacts. I wanted colored contacts. One of the chick that dealt with me was a Mexican chick? She was brown complexion, had an accent and also had an attitude and was also impatient!! This chick told me straight up, very rudely, and she interrupted, and gave me a nasty look: she said I can only try 3 colors at a time. She said it like she was disgusted at me, as though, HOW dare I want to try more than 3 colors!!! At other optometry places, I can try on AS MUCH colors as I want! If that's a dozen, then I try on a dozen!! Here at Linden, NOOO!!! After you try on some contacts, you are told to go to the front desk to pay. Then you come back again, for the doctor to see you. In that sense, Linden Optometry is very inefficient. I don't understand WHY they don't just do EVERYTHING at once, and then I pay for it in the very end...once I receive everything, including my dang contacts prescription! That's like going to the hair salon and they charge you $300, after only half-way finishing your hairdye process (and then finishing the other half of the hairdye process, after you've paid the $300)!!! Also, she told me that I CAN'T get my contact lens prescription that same day. I have to go for a follow-up, which means I have to make an appointment, and then come back another day. For this follow-up, you must wear your contacts at least 2 hours ahead of time (at least according to Linden). Remember: you only have 2 months worth of visits (contact-lens related)! After 2 months, you need to pay $25 for each follow-up visit!! So make sure you make that follow-up ASAP, or you won't get your contacts prescription...and you'll have to pay an additional $25 !!! I'd say make the follow-up appt that same day, before you leave!! FYI: It is required by LAW, that the eye doctor MUST give you your EYEGLASS AND/OR CONTACTS PRESCRIPTION!!! Ask around, Go online.
