    Chopped steak and fried okra

Stopped for lunch today. Food was ok. Better than the fast food places around. It took a while to get our food. Ordered the blue cheese black and blue burger. It came with just meat and blue cheese dressing on it. It was just ok. Onion rings were homemade, crunchy and tasty. Another person in our group got the chopped steak. It was a large hamburger patty with mushrooms and gravy. He said it was good.

Needed to stop and grab lunch. Did not want fast food. Started with a side salad. Iceberg lettuce was fresh & crispy, cherry tomatoes were nice. Croutons tasted homemade. Burger options looked great. I ordered a 1/4 lb Limestone burger and my husband had a 1/2 lb limestone burger. Buns were toasted, burger was served fresh & hot. Fries were hot & crispy. Not quite a 5Guys burger but much better than a fast food burger!! Our server was kind and made great recommendations.

Upon entering I was greeted and sat at a table with a nice view. Service here was friendly and accommodating, I ordered the lunch special and an unsweetened tea. The coleslaw was brought out and surprised me with how delicious and crisp it was. I don't usually like coleslaw, but I devoured this. The unsweetened tea was lacking, actually, it tastes of mold. Unfortunately, the taste didn't go away even when I ordered a sprite. However, the tenderloin sandwich was fried and tasty. I enjoyed the fries which were crispy and hot. The food is 5 but the drinks need some addressing, I'd suggest order something in a bottle.

My BLT with barely any bacon.

This restaurant needs to hirer friendlier staff who provide better service and bus the tables. We waited more than 40 minutes for BLT sandwiches. Our unpleasant waitress kept saying they had a big party. But staff was sitting at a table up front not doing anything. No one bothered to bus the tables next to us that were dirty when we got there. Save yourself the frustration and get fast food. I'm giving one star because there isn't anything lower. The BLT sandwiches had less than a piece of bacon on them and no mayo. I am shocked that anyone recommends this restaurant.

We travel through Kentucky often on 75 and always try to stop here. Good home cooked food and good prices.

Chicken Wings were hot and delicious!

Came here for dinner with some friends, and tried the hillbilly tacos. I love tacos. These tacos were very different from anything I had ever had, and I wasn't as crazy about them. They are made with cornbread cakes as the tortilla and topped with pulled pork, coleslaw, barbecue sauce. I didn't even attempt to pick them up, I just ate them with a fork, and didn't eat much of the cornbread cakes but I did eat the pulled pork and the coleslaw and the cornbread that was below the pulled pork. They were good, but not my favorite. Probably wouldn't get them again. We got an order of mild chicken wings for the table, and they were hot and delicious! Both of my friends had the grilled chicken with rice, and they both seem very happy with their choice and it looked good. Lots of parking, and great service.

Nice place above the area so you have great views. Waiter was exceptional in every way. I let him decide my appetizer and as you can imagine it was excellent as was the main course had to season the beans with pepper and salt but overall a good experience.

Catfish special -- really delicious and appreciated that it wasn't a cornmeal batter

We found another jewel as we travel thru Kentucky and Tennessee, the Limestone Grill. They have an extensive menu of home style favorites. We started with the cheesy cauliflower with chipotle ranch and it was delicious but a huge helping. We didn't do it justice. I decided on the chef salad and it didn't disappoint but again, huge portion. The hubby did the special which was catfish with peas (his favorite) and real mashed potatoes (I sampled and they were wonderfully buttery). We don't get south of Lexington often which is disappointing as there were several other items on the menu that I'd like to sample. I would be remiss not to give Rhonda a shout out. She took excellent care of us. I, highly, recommend a stop if you are in the area.

The patio was perfect - only complaint was old eyes had a hard time seeing the menu as it got dark outside. Service was great - our waitress was attentive and got our order in perfect, plus was able to split up the checks with no issue. Complimentary rolls were served after we ordered - they are sweet rolls but nothing like Texas Roadhouse. Let's just say I was okay after one roll. I ordered the chicken pesto with baked potato and my daughter ordered the chicken wrap with fries. Everyone else at the table ordered steaks. The chicken was a little tough and overcooked, and the baked potato was very good. Tables outside were a bit wobbly so the table rocked while I cut into my chicken. My daughter liked her fries and chicken wrap. Overall it was a solid meal, but don't think we'll be back.

It's one reason I don't go out for breakfast ~ I can make a pretty good breakfast at home. No use paying someone to do something I can do. So, going into Jackson's restaurant, a mom and pop restaurant specializing in home cooked style food, I had my doubts. Walking up to what resembled a school cafeteria lunch line only furthered my doubts. And, seeing the sheer number of different options sitting out behind the glass window only furthered my suspicions. Look, I was wrong. The food here is really good. The service is super friendly and helpful. I was so overwhelmed by all the choices I just told the lady behind the glass counter to pick me something. She obliged with a kindness that made me think she knew me somehow. She chose the chicken and dumplings, beef stew, apples, and two different types of corn bread. Now, I thought initially, and she even admitted, that the chicken and dumplings/beef stew mix was a little unorthodox, but that they were both so good I had to try them. Both were fantastic. The apples were awesome. I liked both types of corn bread. When I got up to leave, she called me over to the counter and said that since it was my first time there, I'd get a free dessert. You all, I was too full to even try. The food here is both tasty and filling. I was in Richmond for a conference at Eastern Kentucky University. So it was really convenient to stop by. But I'd say that even if you're remotely close, it's worth a visit. Don't, as I did, judge a book by its cover.

It's pretty dark inside but the lighting fixtures they have are very unique! Wear a lighter layer under your coat/sweater cause it is pretty toasty in there. Our waitress took our order only to find out the prime rib that was advertised out front wasn't available - so she retook everyone's order about 5 minutes later and what I assume was the manager came out to apologize. He stated that he kept reminding the staff to flip the specials out front, assuming this is a reoccurring problem. Three out of six ordered the cowboy ribeye (another advertised special) and it was the same quality you'd get going to Waffle House, unfortunately. The fat wasn't rendered properly leading to rubbery texture and there wasn't a proper sear. 2/10 The other three of us picked the bowl of potato soup (6/10), Philly Cheese Sandwich (9/10), and Shrimp Scampi (7/10). The potato soup was pretty standard and could've used a little more seasoning. When I took my leftovers home, I added onion & garlic powder, kinders the blend, and salt & pepper and it was perfect! Shrimp Scampi tasted good but the noodles were well past Al dente. Not a big deal for the person who ordered it but something to note if you're a texture person. Overall, it was mediocre service (I think our server was new) and hit or miss food. It would be a great place to stop and grab some drinks at the bar, though.
