My only complaint was that the kitchen took a while to get our food out, but the appetizers and salads came out quickly and if I returned super hungry I would order a soup or salad before dinner. My salmon was top notch. The skin was crispy and the meat was perfectly cooked. My god mother loved her tomato bisque and fried oysters. The grits an polenta were what everyone at the bar was talking about. Many of the cocktails looked delicious and I can wait to come back sometime when I can try a few. I got the French dip and the bread was soft and pillowy. The server was helpful when we chose our meals and was friendly and kind. The only thing that frustrated us was the volume in the place. The speakers were so loud that it was hard to hear people at the same table. For the football games they were airing, the games were loud and the commercials were louder. One from our party said the volume of the speakers in the men's bathroom was also loud and that seems unnecessary! Overall, great food experience but I'm not sure I would go back on a game day. Hopefully it's a little quieter on other days!

I saw the Brussel sprouts appetizer on another table that also seemed inviting. I'll have to get that next time. I ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken with asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes. The chicken had a very nice kick to it and was worth the price. My fiancé ordered the shrimp pasta with zoodles. Cooked very well, but it was a little small for me, but not for her. I also know from another member of the party they can even cook a filet mignon Pittsburgh style, so the kitchen has some talent in the back. Also has very nice and attentive staff, and even met the owner. We will definitely come back here again

Eye rolls when I asked for one thing. The main problem was the credit card charge. It's for credit cards only. I told the woman at the front that I was paying with a debit card. She added the credit charge. This is, according to Visa, fraudulent. I told her l what I was told, that Visa said that you can't charge a credit charge on a debit purchase. She dismissed my comment, saying "that's the way it's set up here." The reason is set up that way is that they set it up that way. Also, She pulled my check away so that I wouldn't notice the difference. I love a local business. The food is good, and it's a much loved institution here.
