One of the Best places for wings, burgers, and brisket in the whole area. We drive down 45 minutes from Avery Co. and it was so worth it!!!

The food was pretty good and the service was excellent. We went on a quiet Sunday evening and sat outside on the patio area. It's located on a very busy corner of an intersection. On Sunday evening, it wasn't horrible however, I imagine on a day where there's high traffic it would be nearly impossible to enjoy yourself. They had one unisex bathroom that was pretty gross. I always check bathrooms at restaurants. Though the seat, sink and supply table surfaces were clean, the bottom of the toilet was gnarly. If I didn't have an additional 2 Hour drive to get home I definitely would have waited. The burger and fries we ordered was delicious, perfectly cooked and the veg served with it was very fresh and crisp. The French dip ribeye sandwich I ordered was heavenly. Probably one of the best French dips I've had in a while. If I lived locally, I would definitely go again, weighing the good with the bad it would be still worth it

We stopped in B42's on our way to Stateville. A little hard to find Google maps has it on the otherside of the road but glad we kept looking and found it. It's a very small restaurant maybe 8 tables and a few bar seats. The service was very friendly. We first wanted to order the crab dip appetizer but I wanted a few pieces of celery vs pita bread, since they serve wings I knew they'd have it, but they wanted $2 for that so we nix that. I ended up ordering a stuffed burger that was delicious. Hubby ordered grilled chicken sandwich which he said was very plain. Not someplace I would go out of my way for but if in the area we would come again.

Burgers and environment were awesome!! My wife loved her chicken Philly as well. We had the French dip sliders for an appetizer and they were awesome. Service was a little slower because the place was slammed and it's very small.

Stumbled on this place as we were out for a ride. Was able to walk in and get a seat quickly. Waitress was promp and intentive. Nice menu lots of choices.Nice beer and drinks offered. Several families with kids. Food came quickly and hot!

Ordered a few items all tasted amazing. The Mascot is the best by far. Onion rings are so good aswell. Didn't understand why I had to pay extra for ranch after spending 50$ on 4 meals but receiving 1 ranch.. Didn't get greeted at the counter right away due to the hostess being on her cell phone...but other than that it was great and friendly. The place is a small dive bar with sports on big screens and beer. Awesome sports memorabilia.

This place was GREAT. We had to wait a bit for a table 'cause it was crowded - but after trying to food we were not at all surprised by the busy-ness. Even tho it was busy, service was great. We never had to ask for refills and waitress was super attentive. After seeing so many reviews saying to try the PB&J Burger we couldn't resist - and SO glad we didn't!!! We JUST left and are already talking about wanting to go back. This burger sounds like a bad idea, but no. It was incredible. The jam was amazing. Just trust all the reviews and try it. We did go medium well 'cause a lot of reviews mention the burger being pink, but it was still super juicy and perfect. We also had the pretzel for an appetizer and again - totally blown away. So crisp and good. It came with queso, but we didn't even need it the pretzel was so delicious. I had the fish and chips which were great as well, crunchy and delicious. Just all so good. It IS a sports bar, but the tvs aren't loud or obtrusive. We could hear each other well. All in all a great experience! We will definitely be back 'cause I'm gonna crave that pretzel and he's going to want that burger!

    Sliders

Ate at this place every now and then for the last 3 years and noticed its slow decline in quality during this year. A lot of people say they have the best burgers. While I would say they USED to have the best burgers, the quality is severely lacking. Especially with the Slider burgers. Once a used to be hand patties burger has been replaced with a flat frozen unbelievably thin piece of pressed meat. Think subpar McDonalds quality. Specifically for this order the fried mushrooms were extremely soggy and the breading just fell off. The fried mushrooms are frozen, the onions rings are frozen. The only saving grace were the house chips.

Had the Nashville hot and Garlic parmessan dry rub wings. They were some of the best that I have had. Will definitely be back.

It was early afternoon and busy, so we sat at the bar to save time. When we looked at the menu, we thought everything looked pricey but figured it would be worth it. We ordered the namesake dishes: the Chicken Bella Vita for me and the Veal Bella Vita for my husband. Wait staff was very nice and indicated it was a good choice. We also ordered a bottle of wine (way overpriced for what it was). The bread and the extra olive oil dip we ordered were delicious, as were the salads. Then we waited. And waited. Over an hour after finishing our salads, the entrees finally arrived. I'm patient with holiday crowds, but no place should take this long. When the food arrived, I was not impressed by the portions for a $25.99 entree, but I hoped the taste would make up for it. It didn't. There was no taste at all! It was supposed to be a champagne sauce, but it tasted like flavorless biscuit gravy with no salt--and no cheese was offered to help it out. My 'Bella Vita' plate had only about 2 bites of chicken, 3 shrimp, and a few pieces of artichoke with some sun-dried tomatoes. I get that poor planning can make a holiday meal prep a challenge, but we paid full price--over $100 for two people before tip. We won't be returning.

It might have just been the holiday rush, but I always figure "busy means good," so my expectations were high--and The Local didn't disappoint. We started with the nachos; they were delicious, though I do wish they came with a bit more meat. For mains, the burger was outstanding--probably one of the best we've had in the entire area. We also ordered the Brazilian steak, which was cooked perfectly and came with great plantains. The quinoa with tofu was good, too, though it was a little dry and would have been perfect with a sauce. The service really stood out. Our waitress was incredibly attentive and refilled my water at least four times without me asking. Great ambiance and an all-around good experience. Definitely worth the wait!

Bar tender provided menus, and checked back on us after a few minutes to take order. They've got a good menu with pizza, sandwiches, burgers, and a good variety of entrees (seafood, steak, chicken, pasta), basically, they've got something for everyone. Not being too hungry, but knowing we needed something, we decided to just split an order of the pulled pork nachos. The food came out fairly quickly, looked and tasted great. They did not skimp on toppings. Staff was friendly, food was good, only complaint is it was very dark inside, and surprisingly loud in the restaurant, I can't imagine being there with live music, I assume it would be impossible to have a conversation.

Disorganized and Disappointing…read more We had high hopes for Duke's, especially with its upscale vibe and menu, but the reality fell far short. From the moment we sat down, things started going sideways. First red flag? The water left on our table had bugs floating in it. Not a great start. The waitress, while friendly, seemed completely overwhelmed--she forgot our orders multiple times, asked the same questions repeatedly, and left us waiting far too long between check-ins. It took 40 minutes just to get our soups, and the entrees didn't arrive until over an hour after we ordered. The entire experience felt chaotic. At one point, another server brought two dishes and a drink to our table that weren't even ours. Total confusion. Now let's talk about pricing--specifically, a $12 charge to split a 24 oz ribeye. How does that make sense when one person might not even be able to finish it? It felt like a greedy upcharge for no real reason. Menu clarity was another issue. The sides weren't listed clearly, and no one explained that the "loaded potato" option was actually a soup--not an actual potato. The clam chowder? It's a tomato-based red soup, which is definitely not what most people would expect when ordering chowder. A simple explanation from the staff would've gone a long way. The duck was actually fantastic, the crab cakes not so much. Dessert was also oddly handled. They offer a brownie, but ask, "Is that okay?" as if there are other options (there aren't). Then they bring one brownie split four ways--literally bite-sized portions on a single plate for a group of four. It felt more like a sampler than a real dessert. When it came time to pay, we were asked if we were ready for the check, but then they came back later and had to double-check everyone's order just to get the bill right. And instead of bringing the check, you're told to scan a QR code to pay--likely a move to avoid credit card processing fees, though it puts the burden on the customer to complete the transaction. Overall, Duke's tries to present itself as upscale, but the execution just isn't there. Sloppy service, confusing policies, and unnecessary upcharges make it hard to justify a return visit. Definitely not the dining experience we were hoping for.
