Coffee shop... yes! Bar... yes! We stopped by downtown forest city and wanted to enjoy a coffee. This looked like a cool spot. It's a coffee shop during the day, serving coffee, espresso, and specialty frappes. They have some protein bars and snacks as well. It's a bar at night. They have drafts on tap, and a whole section of bottles and cans for you to explore. A lot of what they have I've never seen before so it's a pretty cool collection to try. The ambience is dope! Cool seating and furniture. It would be cool to meet up with friends at night and enjoy the atmosphere.

Roasted: visiting this area and stopped in for an afternoon cup of coffee. It's in downtown forest city and it's a full bar as well as a coffee shop. Atmosphere is nice and quiet for an early afternoon. They use small town coffee roasters for their coffee. The bartender has to hop back and forth between the bar and making coffee. She was friendly enough but could tell she didn't want to be making coffee drinks. Latte was super foamy and so burnt - it was hard to drink. No latte art at all but the amount of foam made it like a dry cappuccino. Sadly not a place I'd seek out for coffee. For the price - I expect a good cup of coffee. Come here for a beer not the coffee. Unroasted: coffee shop inside a bar is probably a bad idea but we decided to give it a try. This place is nice and looks like a great spot to catch a beer with some friends. The coffee shop in the corner looks like a new add on. The bartender is also working the coffee shop and she didn't seem very friendly having to walk to the opposite side to make some coffee. Ordered the usual latte with sugar free vanilla. Did not ask if it's for here or to go and we received to go cups. The coffee was one of the worst I've ever tasted. It was so bitter and burnt that it was virtually undrinkable. I would stick to the cold local beers.

I must say I was pretty impressed with this place! A Yelp buddy of mine from the area - shout out to Tony R. - is a regular here and loves it. I've seen the sign a couple of times on trips to the Arcade Museum. It's a pretty cool sign to boot and is an absolute reflection of what you'll find inside. The space is wide open but nicely broken down into seating areas that still feel like you get some privacy. On the right side you'll find the package beer and wine for retail sales. On the left is where all the action happens at the bar. There were two chalkboards - one either side with the draft selections. I believe there were about fifteen to choose from and they were all solid representations of mostly NC craft beers. The prices are very reasonable with the average pint only $4 and nothing over $5. Other than the beer offerings, the thing I really enjoyed was the laid back vibe. Twisted Pear is totally unpretentious and not trying to be something it isn't. It's just a cool place for locals and visitors to grab a cold beer and hang out. Sodas available for the kids plus free popcorn. Plenty of board games too! Live music on weekends!

Super chill bar and coffee shop. Nice selection of wines by the bottle and local beer for purchase as well. Plenty of room to spread out, nice seating areas with a mix of cushioned and regular seating. Nice place for a small town- glad we found them.

I love all the beer and wine selections they have! Lots on tap to offer. They also sell some other local products. The place is always kept nice and clean. The blonde server isn't the most friendly person(or welcoming) I've met. Usually bartenders talk to folks and greet them but anytime I've been there, even during coffee there's been none of that. But I know that's not how the Twisted Pear is usually run so I won't deduct any stars for that. They also offer a few snacks but I'd love to see more. Can't wait for the live music to start again! It's a great local spot of sit, relax, and have a brew or two ;)

Birdsong jalapeño ale 5.5% and an americano. Both delicious

They are open on sunday!!!!! Beer starts at noon but the coffee is anytime. I don't drink but i love coffee and everyone else loves craft beer. Perfect spot for all, even dog friendly. Very clean & friendly atmosphere. Definitely recommend it.

Justin, you are a genius! What's better than a Twisted Pear? A second Twisted Pear in Rutherfordton! Same concept, great taproom with great beers and wine. Sit at the bar or buy a few bottles to take home. It's just starting out but the future looks bright with live music and my goodness does The city of Rutherfordton need this! They don't serve food but the Olive Tree Greek restaurant is right behind. Come on in ,get a drink and order for delivery!

This place isn't just a bar; it's where good vibes go to level up, grab a drink, and dance like no one's watching (even though everyone is). The service? Top-tier. The atmosphere? Equal parts cozy, classy, and "uh-oh I might stay longer than planned." But let's talk about Thursday Karaoke Night, because WOW. If you think you've heard angels sing, try listening to a brave soul at Fly Girls passionately belt out 90s hits with the confidence of someone who clearly pre-gamed in the parking lot. Whether you're a vocal legend in the making or you only sing in the shower when no one's home, the crowd here will cheer you on like you're headlining your world tour. The DJ (Morgan Bass) keeps the music flowing. The staff keeps the drinks flowing, the laughs rolling, and the mic sanitized--because professionalism matters, even when you're butchering "Sweet Caroline." The energy on Thursday nights is pure gold: supportive, hilarious, and just the right amount of chaotic. Don't sleep on the pizza from Fly Boys it's the best in town. Fly Girls is the perfect spot to unwind, let loose, and maybe discover that your true calling was karaoke all along. Thursdays here aren't just a night out--they're an event. A weekly tradition. A borderline spiritual experience. If you want great service, great entertainment, and a guaranteed good time, Fly Girls delivers every single time. And trust me, you haven't lived until you've spent a Thursday night here.

The portions were the perfect mix of generous and "you're definitely taking leftovers home and happily eating them cold at midnight." And the flavors? Mercy. One bite in and you're suddenly questioning why you ever wasted calories anywhere else. The staff deserves special mention (Jada) friendly, hilarious, and quicker than a hummingbird after a double espresso. They made the whole meal feel like a celebration, even though all we celebrated was how fast we could inhale dinner. Whether you're craving hearty home cooking, a place to laugh with friends, or just a restaurant with a name that's as fun to say as it is to eat at, Hoot Nannie absolutely delivers.
