I had the most amazing time at Mountain Brook Vineyards in Tryon, NC.  Rebecca and Eric gave me an amazing tasting in the barrel room. Rebecca, made sure that any questions I asked were answered. She was terrific!  Eric, was so professional and knowledgeable about the variety of wines we sampled for our tasting. He explained everything from the beginning to the end!  This place is definitely a vineyard you should visit. I will say there was not one wine that I did not enjoy! I absolutely enjoyed every pour.  Their wines are remarkable choices that would be great for a dinner party or holiday gathering. Love love loveeeed Mountain Brook Vineyard! I was greeted upstairs and then again when I got downstairs. Lots of seating whether you are down by the firepit, out by the lawn area or gazebo or the covered upstairs patio. There is also seating inside if the weather is not so great. Today's weather was perfect! I found a seat outside and my wine and charcuterie were brought to me. This beautiful place was where my daughter, son & son in law hosted my 80th birthday on September 1st- Labor Day. My daughter was able to bring her own food & set out a wonderful spread under their umbrellas with a view of the vineyard, the grounds, the mountains. We were served delightful wines to compliment the food. The piéce de resistance was the gorgeous cake my daughter made! It was a masterpiece & looked like it had come from a fancy bakery! Came here on a girls' weekend and enjoyed not only the incredible and breathtaking views, but also the wine. They have tons of tables and a food truck was available. The vineyard also had a nice menu with a charcuterie plate that was perfect for an afternoon snack. I would have loved to have spent more time at one of the fire pits, but it was quite cold so we opted for an indoor table. Plenty of wine options for you to choose one that suits. It may have just been bad timing, so take it as you will. The service was okay. The waitress seemed a tad put off by our dogs being with us which automatically gives me a bad taste in my mouth. Nevertheless she still brought them water. We had just missed the live music apparently, but were told the band was great. We didn't eat anything but we did do the red wine flight sample. We were not impressed whatsoever. They were decent, but sadly didn't think one sample was worth buying a bottle of. The views were gorgeous, though. Also note to self, do not go by the posted closing time on google. The outside closed hours earlier than the inside portion, and we didn't know that. read more

We had a great time visiting Mountain Brook Vineyard. The setting is breathtaking with long expansive views of the vineyards with a backdrop of mountains. They have a tiered lawn set up with many tables- some with fire-pits. The wine is delicious and the light food options are spot on. Absolutely the highlight of our visit was having an extended conversation with the winemaker, David Coventry. He is a joy to chat with and an absolute wealth of knowledge- our conversation took our wine experience to another level and I believe I will think about many of the things he said about wine for years to come. read more

I feel like the odd man out giving MBV less that five stars based on their overall reviews however, I feel like my experience was closer to a three star review because my experience was decent, at best. The staff member that served me and my wife was great. He seemed a little stretched thin and was running around crazily but was awesome, nice and very conversational. We ordered a red flight with the pairings. My kids were able to play corn hole and throw a football in the grassy area near our table. Outside seating was plentiful and there was even umbrellas at each table for the sun. There was a live band that played a wide variety of songs. The wines were great. We were fans of the Cab, BDX and Allin. The BDX and Allin are more unique so these two peaked out interest the most and both made their way home with us. The pairing we ordered with the wine were locally made (Hendersonville) chocolates and were well paired. Watching what others were ordering it looked like most of the foods were prepackaged and made to quickly go out to tables. Our chocolates were in a plastic sleeve so it was kind of grab and go. The rub came when we were trying to leave and wanted to grab a couple of bottles to take home. We already paid out tab at the table and were looking for a retail area to grab the bottles, pay and go. There really wasn't a retail space. There was an serving window where the staff would submit their orders for tables then there was an upstairs spot that had a decorative shelfing unit with the wines stacked. Finding the wine we wanted and paying took a little too long and there really wasn't an area to "shop" for things to take home. Again, based on the reviews maybe it just wasn't a good time to visit so I would definitely go back and try again. Service and wines were worth it enough to at least do that. read more

What a beautiful vineyard!! You get a gorgeous view of the mountains and the rows of grape vines while sipping delicious wine. The vineyard is very spacious and there were several outdoor areas to sit at including ones that were covered. We started our wine tasting on the outdoor balcony area which I think had the best views. There were two different flights we could choose from that consisted of four 1.5oz tastings. The flights were $12 each and included a variety of wines. They also have a menu of cheese, meats, crackers, chocolates, hummus & pita to choose from. They also had a few different sangrias. Perfect spot to grab wine & enjoy a beautiful sunset! We went on a girls trip, and we are SO GLAD that we visited Mountain Brook. The staff was so kind, and went out of their way to accommodate us (with space heathers) & show us hospitality. There are sheep and dogs in the vineyards. Please dont try and pet them, as they are working animals and will get shocked by the electric fence. The fire and space heathers made the evening so nice. They also often have food trucks, which is super cool! The wine was lovely & the sunset was incredible. I plan to go back & highly recommend (for the atmosphere & wine)! We had a fantastic time at Mountain Brook Vineyards! The setting is breathtaking. We sat at one of the firepits and watched an early spring storm roll in over the mountains. We sampled the Sangria flight, which was fun and paired well with the spreads and crackers. Bonus - they offered gluten free crackers which was a real treat! We also shared a flight of whites and reds and topped it off with a glass of pinot noir each. The vineyard dog, Cooper, an enormous English lab was celebrating his birthday and we got to join in the celebration. Had we realized it was dog-friendly we would have brought our girl with us and definitely will next time we go! The staff were so friendly. One thing that made this review a 5 star is the service provided from Marche and Dave. They were amazing to talk too, and Marche provided top notch service. I remember doing my tour with Dave said, and don't quote me on this but " every wine is a journey." I just loved feeling part of the family. Great place to get white, red and rosé wine. Huge outside area with tons of tables. You can see the mountains overlap. Beautiful scenery for pictures. They have covered areas and an upper deck area. Loved our experience!!! The service was AMAZING. The wine was great and food was great. They have food trucks and then also serve amazing charcuterie boards the prices are very reasonable. The live music is darling and such a great place for a date or girl friends. I wanted to give 4 and not 5 stars, because there was a lot of construction and the grass was brown. :( There was also no vineyard? Our server said it's because they are working on growing another one, but there is so much that goes into the perfect vineyard. The temperature, the way it's set up, etc. However, the service was so Devine. I really give the service 5 stars!!!! That's why this is a 5 star rating, because of your workers. They love what they do and are so friendly. When I come back in summer, I really hope it's cleaned up and greener! Was a little disappointed there. read more

It was my first visit back to Mountain Brook since the new owners and the expansion of new vines and the lovely outdoor seating areas. You will see the exciting things to come as they are building and adding to make Mountain Brook a beautiful event space with exceptional wines. We had a lovely Sunday afternoon. There was good live music, a lot of outdoor space to distance yet feel a part of the atmosphere. We did the wine tasting ($15/ 4 wine taste ) and a charcuterie board ($25) i liked all the samples but the Chardonnay was my favorite. Upon entry we were greeted and made welcome.They even brought out Bernese Mountain dog a china bowl of water. We had a lovely host who brought us some tastings. I really liked the tasting bottles, pandemic or not, its a great way to have a tasting outside. Just love the owners mother who was like the welcome wagon and had a nice chat with her. My only downside I we were on the patio and I bot bitten by red ants. They might try diatomaceous earth and sprinkle that around as its pet and garden friendly. The atmosphere is amazing and a beautiful setting for any event. Loved the art horses as well. We will be back in a few weeks with friends and look forward to seeing the place again read more

We are staying near to the winery, this was my first visit. It was a very pleasant day in December so we stopped here and sat on the deck to sip on some vino and enjoy the sunshine. They have a nice wine menu and a very relaxing campus to enjoy. We sat up on the deck, but they have some covered porches, they have a fireplace, and a fire pit and lawn. The whole place is well constructed and worth a visit. I enjoyed a flight of the wine, I went with the Red. I most enjoyed the Cabernet, overall they were good. The service was very friendly. We did get to pet Cooper who made his way to our table to say hello. The ladies shared a carafe of the sangria. It was sweet and good. Keep up the good work! I had the awesome opportunity to check out this place for my first time on my Birthday. Originally we had chose to spend out time at a local Apple Orchard but due to the busy nature decided last minute to head to Mountain Brook and boy are we glad we did. This place is beautiful, from the moment you drive up the long driveway to the top to the moment you arrive in the parking g area. The Good old farm dog is likely to greet you on your way in but trust me he's harmless and "Frankly" adds the the appeal of this place. The amenities are modern yet have a touch of grounded roots with the original owners home converted to a tasting rooms and sitting area. Up to date features include an area for live music and fire pit for taking in the mountains views on a cool night. The staff was amazing. They treat their employees like family and in fact some of them have have multiple family members helping out around the Winery. My girls were introduced to our servers daughter and they instantly became friends and had a great time playing and exploring the area. The live music was great and so was the Charcuterie board. A food truck was onsite but we did not get a chance to try it on this particular day. I can wait for our next visitor back to this great spot in the Carolinas. read more
