3 stars because its trying hrad and it looks cute, but the 2 stars it didn't get were simple fixes and noted before so maybe someone's not getting the feedback? We'll and its not cheap, when you pay $24 for shrimp and grits you dont expect to have to season it at the table and mash the chalky lumps out with your fork. Maybe I'm just not a southern gal, but pulling the heads off my shrimp and getting one too many little tentacles thingies stuck in my teeth sort of took the shine off. The fried green tomatoes look pretty, the batter tastes of absolutely nothing; all the flavors in the sauce. We had a nice time though and I'll always give local businesses a go over the faceless big box. Maybe someone will read this and give the chef back his salt? read more

It's a nice space. We had no issues getting in a party of 8. The French toast was very good. We also had the burger with the bacon jam.

Outstanding!! Professional staff, professional cooking. Nobody else in Rutherford has these menu items. From burgers to crab cakes, trout, mahii . Awesome bartenders. The only place that does a proper Old Fashion that I've had anywhere near here. read more

This a cute newer restaurant in the area. It has a comfy upscale vibe when you walk in, but don't worry there's still about 6 or 8 tvs playing sports above the bar. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The food was mostly a miss. My friend had their pasta and that was good, but I had salmon with asparagus. The first salmon had a huge hair on it so I sent it back ( in the photo the waitress accidentally got my side wrong so I have mashed potatoes) and they brought me another this time with the correct side, but the fish was raw. I mean nigiri raw. So pretty disappointing. We also had dessert which was pretty solid. The beignets were very lemony but pretty good. The drinks tho were all really good. I had two fall drink specials , an apple cider margarita and the smore tini , and a spicy margarita. All perfect! Overall don't know that I'd eat here again but I will go back and enjoy a few drinks. read more

First of all I would like to thank you for feeding us after a horrible experience at a neighboring restaurant. The inside of the restaurant is very nicely decorated and laid out. Being frustrated at our previous restaurant we were met by Alex the bartender. She was wonderful. My wife's cocktail was on point. As usual I ordered a beer. They had an extensive local craft selection. I was informed by Alex they would be installing a draft selection in the spring! We split the Cajun chicken pasta . The dish was plenty to split . You will definitely have leftovers. The chicken, sausage and pasta were cooked correctly. The sauce pulled the entire dish together. Thank you for talking care of your customers. The best brunch I've ever had. Perfect prime rib. Great crab cakes. Goat cheese beet salad was too good to be true. Best French toast I've had soft in the center and a little burnt on the outside. They don't waste table space with noodle salad and cocktail shrimp and jello. Just amazing food. My only problem is that I didn't have room to try everything. I'm already looking forward to the next holiday brunch. It's a great restaurant any other time also. Everything I've ordered has been top notch. They change things up often enough to really enjoy your next visit. They change the drink menu too. I had the Strawberry Basil Sangria today...dang it was good. read more

We have been hearing some really word of mouth positive reviews about Parcel 191. The menu has offering for almost every taste. The selection is very nice without being over bearing. The staff are pleasant and attentive. The biggest takeaway is they want you to enjoy your dining experience while at Parcel. Today I had a salad with salmon. Nicely done. Hubby and I went for lunch and it had a couple large groups dining: a group socializing at the bar, and a large table with a ladies group . There were also a few couples, like us. I had the trout fillet (I had mine grilled instead of blackened and it was moist and flavorful. It came with two sides. I chose broccolini (was a bit under cooked to me) and tasty sweet potato waffle fries (generous portion) which came with an unusual but good dip. Hubby had the soup of the day and the chicken salad. It was delicious as always. It's offered with pita wedges or sliced cucumber, or 1/2 and 1/2. We like the 1/2 and 1/2 option. It was quiet and we had an enjoyable meal. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Parcel 191! The staff was attentive & worked well as a tram. The atmosphere was relaxing & we appreciated that the music was background & not loudly intrusive. The food was excellent and what a treat to find so may gluten free options! The GF fried fish was delicious as were the wonderfully crispy sweet potato fries,. brussel sprouts & fried green tomatoes. I had the blackened fish which had the perfect amount of seasoning. AND.....Wow!!! If anyone else is bored by the usual GF dessert options of only chocolate torte & inferior quality ice cream, you're in for a treat. We skipped the torte & tried the other 3 GF options on the dessert menu. They were all excellent! We live in the Asheville NC area but we will be coming back to this restaurant on a regular basis; it's well worth the trip! read more

I've been 3 times now & each time thought "eh" First time I sat at the bar----ordered an espresso martini, and was told the'd serve them "someday" as they were hoping to get an espresso machine. I suggested until then Three Olives Triple Espresso Vodka is a great alternative. The bartender said "we'll wait----we're here to serve authentic craft cocktails" ...... I couldn't help but wonder if she's an owner or has ever been to a used restaurant equipment store----a graveyard of bargains from all the places that preferred "authenticity or craft" over serving customers what they are hungry or thirsty for. Beets & Brussel Sprouts were good, but all the fried apps (fried green tomatoes, pickles) are undercooked-----they are pale yellow instead of being golden crispy and leave a film of flour on your tongue. read more

I've tried several different seafood dishes here and every time I was skeptical, having lived at the beach for years, and every time I was throughly impressed. From the shrimp and grits to the gnocchi crawfish mac & cheese, from the salmon to the lettuce wraps. All have been great. My husband and I moved here from Ft. Lauderdale in 2006. We enjoyed going out to eat. Finding a quality restaurant in our little town has not been easy. 191 has been several different restaurants. They have been open for 2 months. The ambiance was delightful. Finally an upscale place to eat. The menu is lacking. I ordered the grilled Mahi. Over cooked and over seasoned. The risotto was dry sticky blob. Our server, Mikael was pleasant. We truly hope it improves. We have our fingers crossed. read more

Dropped in for a late lunch. Heard some great things about Parcel 191 & wanted to see & taste for myself. I had the appetizer, roasted beets with goat cheese. The dish was satisfying, but it was not roasted beets. The beets were pickled and served cold. Not what I expected, but it was satisfying. My entree was blackened salmon with side dishes, creamed spinach & a side salad. I was blown away by the fresh taste and texture of the fish and spinach. The salmon was perfect and fresh while the creaminess of the sauce & fresh spinach was hot and a big hit. The side salad was too much, so I brought it home for an evening snack. My company had a Ruben with waffle fries. No complaints and left a clean plate. He had 2 orders of Beignets for a late snack to go! It was not a busy time since it was the first time being open on a Tuesday & we got plenty of attention while learning about the family history and its owners. The atmosphere was perfect for an afternoon & can't wait to return next week with a few of my friends! If you're looking for a great meal with great service, then this is the place for you. read more

Today I noticed no beers on tap isn't that part of the NC restaurants legacy with so many local breweries. Not to mention I met the chef prior to opening and he said they would have some Louisiana dishes. Like oyster poor boy have yet to see it On the menu. I ordered the roast beef poor boy. Second time. nothing like Louisiana no gravy. sandwich was dry no dipping sauce or gravy. Fries were not hot when served. No bottled Corona. This is my 4 th visit and most likely my last. Hope you continue to improve but for the price the quality I will still go to Greenville for a good restaurant. read more

The crab cake was delicious but the big surprise came when I dipped the fries into a dark sauce that I was expecting to be a bbq flavor. We went there the first time my husband had the fillet and said it was excellent. I had the fish and chips, fish was over battered And batter was bland. Only one piece of fish was not worth the price of the meal. The drinks were extremely overpriced. Tried it a second time with my son, he had the trout and risotto. The fish was very dry and the risotto was a big clump. My granddaughter had a Caesar salad that was very limp and heavy with dressing and extremely overpriced for a salad. I had the pulled pork, which was just average would really like this restaurant to make it. I ordered there today and got the Cajun pasta with shrimp. it was not spicy at all, it was sweet tasting and my shrimp still had the shell and legs on it. shouldn't have to peel my own shrimp to eat in my pasta.
