Lilla was a wonderful dining experience from start to finish. We made a reservation, and I'm glad we did because the restaurant filled up quickly. The atmosphere is comfortable, inviting, and a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. What really made our evening special was the service. Both Blythe and Bel were friendly, personable, and genuinely fun to interact with. Their warm hospitality elevated the entire experience and made us feel very welcome. The food was excellent as well. We started with the Breaded Mushrooms appetizer, which were delicious, and the dill dipping sauce was especially good. For our mains, we shared the Carbonara and the Panna e Funghi pizza. Both dishes were flavorful and well-prepared. We particularly enjoyed the pizza's crust, which had a great texture and flavor that complemented the mushroom toppings perfectly. I was very excited to finally try this place and they had some lunch specials. We were a little disappointed. There was one other table for lunch and us. Lunch prices are not very lunch priced but I was ok with that expecting some amazing pasta. My friend ordered the carbonara which was like $25-27 and it was not good. There was bits of scrambled eggs in the sauce. I ordered the lunch Alfredo mushroom which looked amazing but damn it was salty! Made my friend try it and it was even salty for her. I wasn't going to say anything but I did and they gladly remade it. It was definitely less salty. But now it had no flavor. I took 2 bites and asked for it to go. The server was super friendly but I would not recommend this place for lunch if you are on a time limit. The salad was good. It wasnt horrible at all, they probably just had an off day We came to try the bolognese and they didn't have any! This is probably when we should have left and came back another day! read more

The grilled focaccia with spreads was to die for - probably the best appetizer I have ever had, and why I'm giving 4 stars. Sadly, the pepperoni pizza was disappointingly bland and the crust was flimsy. The carbonara was just ok for the price. Although the restaurant itself is cute and quaint, it was inconvenient to have the bathrooms be so far outside of the restaurant. I reluctantly had not been to Lilla yet. That is until my date with my daughter to see Flightless Bird at the nearby Revolution Hall. Ellie, my daughter, had been several times before and so she ordered and she chose the place!! I am REALLY not a fan of "replacement" meat and prefer plant based. But she insisted that we had to get the meatballs. So we started with them. They were absolutely AMAZING. A bit softer than my mom used to make them, but I like that!!! SO big lol we each had 1.5 and man the red sauce, bread, the entire experience of this dish was a solid 5 star. I had acid from the tomato sauce, creamy sauce, flavorful meatballs and a crispy bread to mop up all this flavor with!!! Next our entrees were the Sundried tomato pesto, which I wasn't super excited about and the Margherita Pizza, which I feel defines a pizza place. A good margherita isn't hard to make but it's easy to mess up by making it too complicated. I take ALL the un-excitement back in regards to the Sundried tomato pesto. Wow was it PACKED with flavor!!! It wasn't too bold that it smacked you with flavor but it was all so subtly blended to make a delicious pesto. The pesto was creamy and the flavor of the Sundried tomato was perfect. We both really enjoyed the dish. The Margherita Pizza was also perfect. A perfect wood fired crust *chef's kiss* light sauce and perfectly topped with the right and light proportions of cheese, and basil. Oh my goodness so good. For dessert we shared the Olive Oil cake and again utter perfection. Such great flavors and they all came together to give this light cake it's fluffy texture and delicious taste. Everything we had was perfectly delicious. I cannot wait to go back. Our server was wonderful, we felt very welcome and very take care of. I absolutely love it here just as much as my daughter does. Tried this restaurant and all were pleasantly surprised at the very tasty food. For apps we tried the mushrooms & the eggplant stack. The mushrooms were good but all of raved about the eggplant. My main course was the spicy Alfredo and it was delicious! While 2 in the party were vegan and one not all were more than happy with our food. Walked in without a reservation at 5:40pm and there was the new waitress who was told "No Reservation, put them in the back" Yikes we were walked to a tiny room in the back with only 4 tables. Felt like a closet. (Btw there were plenty of tables in the front when we walked in and when another couple was sat next to us for 5-10 mins then they were moved to the front) food was good so cheers to the chef/cooks in the back! We should have said NO to the back room and left the restaurant but this was our first time. It was so awkward eating dinner in this back closet room. If we ever go back we will speak up next time. Vegan Italian with a lot of options! The restaurant is small and easy to miss when driving down Madison st. I would recommend reservations. I visited with a friend on a Friday night at 7:30. I ordered an Italian soda and my friend ordered a Mocktail. We split the eggplant tower and each ordered a pasta (two that our waitress recommended) The eggplant tower was fantastic. I love fried eggplant, and this had a light and crispy batter that was surprisingly gluten free. I had the carbonara and my friend got the spicy Alfredo. I tried both and I liked that hers was more creamy, but hers was indeed quite spicy. My carbonara was good, the faux pancetta totally fooled me, but the sauce did not compare to what I've had in Italy. The service was super friendly, and the ambiance was chill. We went there on Mother's Day for lunch. It was a great experience. In particular, the grilled focaccia with spreads, the funghi pizza, the eggplant tower and the orange olive oil cake were amazing! The service was also great. I also like that they pay staff a living wage, and tipping is not expected (in fact, they were not even set up to receive tips via credit card). My sister and I went to Lilla.. I've been wanting to return since going with my monthly vegan dining group last year. I texted the restaurant and they responded that their reservations were full, but we were welcome to try walk in, might be a wait. So we took our chances and headed over. We couldn't find street parking, but the paid parking close by was pretty empty and we parked there for $4. We walked in and started to put our name on the wait list, but was told we would probably be finished before the reserved party was set to arrive. It was nice to get seated right away. The plan was to share everything. We started out with the Caffè Martini..it was really good. I only had a few sips since I was driving. We started with Grilled Maitake Mushrooms..yumm! We also shared the Brussel Sprout salad, it was my sister's and my favorite of the meal! We got the Tagliolini al Pesto. It was good! My sister decided she wanted to try the Potato Leek soup, it was just ok. For dessert we shared the Orange & Olive Oil Cake. The service was great, we were checked on throughout our meal. My sister isn't vegan, but she really enjoyed the food. The ambiance of the restaurant has a fun vibe. Great little place! Came here with my parents, brother and boyfriend (I'm the only vegan) and everyone was very happy with their food. We called ahead (like 10-15m) on New Year's Eve and when we arrived they had a table set up for us already. The place is pretty small, but cozy and not too loud. The server (Abby) was super friendly and helpful. They 86'ed the Mushroom Risotto (which my dad wanted) because they ran out of an ingredient, but she asked the chef and they were able to work around it. It was still so delicious!! Everything we ordered arrived quickly. We got the focaccia to share, super yummy. I got the Rigatoni with artichoke cream, my mom got the bolognese, dad got the mushroom risotto, brother got the Carbonara Pasta, and my boyfriend got the spicy Alfredo; all our entrees were delicious and so filling--we were stuffed even though this place is plant based. Pasta is perfection - al dente texture and flavorful sauces. I'll skip the focaccia in the future, found it more of a very open and hard dry toast than the soft dense flatbread I prefer. The location is small, in a kinda strip mall. A few parking spots but mostly street parking. No tipping needed or encouraged. Employees are paid a decent wage so gratuity is included in the up front pricing (hence the slightly spendy menu). Been here twice now and service was fabulous both times. I was so excited for lilla because part of my heart died when portabella closed. But lilla is not a replacement unfortunately. I spent over $20 on a carbonara pasta. For a moment, I thought they mixed up my order and gave me something someone had ordered from the child's menu given the baby portion size. It barely had any bacon either. It tasted good, but after I ate it all, I was still hungry. I guess I could have drank the puddle of oil that was left at the bottom. Honestly, I could make this at home and it wouldn't have a half a cup of oil in it. My partner got the chicken Parmesan and it was fine. Not worth $26 or whatever it cost. I'm kinda bummed on this place, but if you've never been to a good vegan Italian restaurant, you might like it. I personally won't be going back. As a non-vegan, I'll say that Lilla was truly excellent, enough that I might go there even when I don't have vegan companions. This is vegan food for people who love vegetables, sauces, and pasta, rather than folks who are looking for meat replacements (which are in a minority of menu items). We liked everything: the foccacia and sauces, the risotto, the orecchiette pasta and most of all the olive oil cake. They also have a short but high-quality (and affordable) list of wines by the glass. It is so rare to find a vegan Italian restaurant that also serves gluten free dishes (that isn't just a salad!). Everything we tried was delicious! My teenage son is still raving about the pesto he had (and he normally won't even go near pesto) and is begging me to go back. We met my aunt and uncle here for a very early dinner. I am obsessed with how gorgeous this restaurant looks like on the inside. Definitely a casual date restaurant. Street parking is available and there's also some parking spots in the front of the restaurant, but it's shared with 2-3 other restaurants so you might have better luck with street parking. The food presentation is gorgeous. The crocches were our favorite part of the whole meal. It was so delicious. We also got the focaccia bread with oil and vinegar. These were our second favorite. The bread was soft on the inside and had a good crunch on the outside. The elderflower balsamic was also super tasty. The potato leek soup was a miss for me. It resembled a gummy-ish texture when it cooled so I would recommend to eat it fast if you order it. I also had the bolognese and it was more on the salty side for me so I wasn't a huge fan. Also tried the enchanted garden mocktail and it was seriously so good! Our server was super sweet and constantly checked on us. The kids pasta was quite undercooked, probably because I picked the thick pasta and they don't cook it in any sauce for this one. It was the first time I tried agnolotti, which is prepared kind of like a pot sticker. The filling was good, but the beet sauce was too earthy for me. I love beets but it tasted like the beets weren't washed thoroughly or it was blended with the greens. The pizza looked good so I might come back to try that next time. read more

This place was so lovely, and totally plant-based! I have recently gone dairy-free and it was so great to go out for Italian food and not have to worry about if it had cheese or butter in it. I ordered the gnocchi that came with chestnut cream and "bacon." The "bacon" gave it a nice smoky flavor and the gnocchi seemed a tad undercooked (they were very soft), but the star was the parm they sprinkled on top. I could not tell it was vegan! It was a nice dish overall. My daughter got a kid's pasta with tomato sauce and they let her get gnocchi too (which she calls Pinocchi, like the movie). It was a generous size for the price. My husband got the pappardelle with the bolognese. Everything was very tasty. I'm interested in trying the pizza and the carbonara next time. read more

We enjoyed this place - the food was pretty good. My favorite was the chicken parmigiana and I greatly appreciate that this place is 100% vegan Italian! (Pictured is the beef dish) Yet, there were some discrepancies happening with the restaurant during our time here which affected our experience since we were celebrating a birthday - hence the 4 stars and they were out of half of the entree menu when we went. I normally wouldn't mind days like this but most of the plates are in the $25 dollar range and I feel that a diner's ambiance is an important component in any restaurant. Overall, I feel this place has superb potential if they get the kinks out of the way. I am open to returning and trying it out again and then updating my experience. I give a solid 3.5/5 read more
