I highly recommend Rommel! I had an emergency with my water heater on a Saturday, and they responded faster than anyone else in town. The technician arrived on time, was extremely professional, and explained the issue clearly before starting repairs. They didn't try to oversell me, and the final price was exactly as quoted. The area was left clean, and the hot water is back to normal. Great service! read more

Do not use Rommel. He is a major scammer and fraudster. We called for plumbing at my parents house, first Rommel @ lil rooter quoted $650 to look at the blockage in the pipes, after looking through his camera, he quoted $2850 to remove a steel door that blocked the pipe that opens and close when the toilet is flushed, then he said there was several damage and 12 feet all the way to the street would have to be dug up and new pipes installed and there was severe damage with rootes and other debris. He informed us he would get a permit and provide an Inspector report. He called the two days later after his workers finished half the work at my house to get the check for $12,000. I trusted upon written agreement that he had completed the work. When I went to my parents' house only less than 6 feet was completed. My parents and I did not get the permit. We did not get the inspection report. He went that afternoon and deposited the check. I put a stop payment but the check went through. He has scammed us and has not responded to calls, emails or texts to give us the inspection report and permit. read more

We had service from Lil Rooter on January 13 to help detect a major leak at our home. He started off by stating how honest he was, which I thought was strange. He charged us $295 to crawl under the house and told us that it was all dry under the house and he couldn't detect a leak. He tried to talk us into a replacement of all the galvanized pipes under our house, even though he couldn't find a leak in them. I contacted another plumber and he found a major leak under our kitchen, and another smaller leak under the hallway outside our main bathroom. I am very dissatisfied with the service we got from Lil Rooter. He missed the major leak under our kitchen and in the hallway. I have asked him to consider a partial refund of the money we paid for him to crawl under the house, but have not received a reply. I know he crawled under the house, but he didn't find the major leaks that we had. He told us it was all dry. That wasn't true, because he apparently didn't conduct a thorough enough inspection. read more

Contacted Lil Rooter to fix a main sewer line connection that had bust. They had to break concrete and replace connection, redo concrete slab. Job was done well, fast and efficient. Fixed our problem. We were satisfied. Highly recommend. read more

Absolutely, bait and switch. They have an ad on Craigslist where they advertise a $75 discount. When you call them and ask for a simple clog removal, they'll quote you about $200. Then you let them that you have called regarding their $75 discount and they start telling you that Roto-Rooter charges $300 to clear a drain and hang up in your face. They have no intention of honoring the $75 discount. All it is is a marketing ploy. Buyer beware. read more

Called them to fix a clogged bathroom sink for a Tenant, came quickly on time, 4* for that. But then gave very high quote of $360. Agreed at $300 but then not ready to work without taking a full payment upfront. Not ready to take credit card or a send a written estimate that i can accept. It is either my way or highway. read more

I had them come and replace a 1 ft section (exposed) and 90degree angle of 3/4 inch copper water line. Time from start to finish? 30 minutes. THEY CHARGED ME $650!!!! I feel violated. That is 6x the cost of a well paid lawyer. read more

People!!!!!!! listen to the 1 star reviews here. Stay away from Rommel. He is definitely a smooth talker. But his price is ridiculously high. I mean 5X more than the highest quote I got from another plumber. Just found out that he also owns lot of supercars, like Lambo and Ferrari... That probably says alot about how he afford his lifestyle. Always get at least 3 quotes before letting anyone do the work read more

I'm a Facilities Manager at a Church in Kensington. One of the myriad of gas shutoffs (vintage Johnson Administration era, by the looks of it) was leaking. These guys arrived the day I called, gave a quote, returned the next day, did the job. No fuss, no muss, no ghosting... Since they're tight with PGE, the techs hung out while the job was finished, which is a plus. No complaints. read more

I recently had two plumbing issues and called Lil Rooter. For the first one they advised that my plumbing was leaking in the pipe behind the shower and the whole surround would need to come out to fixit, estimate up to $32,000 to fix it all. A second plumber simply replaced the cartridge for $300. On the same day I asked Lil Rooter to fix our outdoor faucet that they had repaired last summer ($600). They said it was out of warranty (it had been 13 months instead of 12 months for the warranty). They charged $2500 for this repair. The second plumber told us this repair should have only been $3-400. I contacted Lil Rooter subsequently to give them a chance to make things right. No response. So-o unfair and disappointing. read more

We had leaking pipes, and eventually a major pipe burst in the walls of one of our bathrooms which created horrible amounts of mold and mildew. We called Lil Rooter and they showed up the same day. We received excellent service, and everything was explained to us before any of the work began. They had to take apart the bathroom floor and walls on one side and start from scratch removing all the mold, and then rebuilding the bathroom from the ground up. Rommel kept us in the loop the whole way through. He interfaced with our insurance company and went over and above to make sure we were satisfied. I highly recommend Lil Rooter for any of your plumbing needs! read more

Not reliable. They came out to my work site to perform some work on a Gas line. Told me that they would need to order parts and never got back to me. Lost a week worth of time waiting for these guys. Unless you want a plumber that might Ghost on you, go with someone else. read more

DO NOT trust Rommel because he preys on people who are vulnerable and are desperate. He is a major crook and a scammer. Please listen to the low stars on yelp! They have a common issue with his overpriced services and work that doesn't need to be done. One star is too much to give! I would give a -20 if I could! He likes to misdiagnose so he can do big jobs that cost thousands and then recommend you to use your insurance. And pretend that there was a problem after jack hammering your concrete. NEVER sign anything because he will promise that your insurance will pay and when they don't (because it takes time for payment) he will threaten to put a lien on your house because you have $10,000 laying around. He also has "guys" that do other house work that are probably not even licensed so he can pay them crap and charge the client tons more. He claims they can build houses and they do excellent work. NOT! We had our shower clogged for the second time in our upstairs master bath which then leaked to our kitchen ceiling downstairs. We had a couple of plumbers come out and 1 tried to snake it with no luck. Some said they wouldn't even try because it was an upstairs bathroom. So I came across Rommel and lil rooter and he seemed good and knowledgeable. He was a good talker (BS). Says don't worry I'll take care of it, no problem. He tried snaking a couple of places with no luck. Then cameras with no luck as well. He said it would be a big job and that I should contact my homeowners insurance and tell them it was an emergency work and that they already started. Then he said he needed to cut open the ceiling and see where the leak is coming from and he PROMISED that it would look like nothing happened. Guess what?? It was crap. And Guess what?? He said he can fix it but it will cost me! WHAT?? I know! He also had to jack hammer our kitchen floor to find out where the clog is in 2 places and use the camera. So he "claims" he found the clog and saw it on the camera out to the street. He said it looked like a big ball. I wish I could have seen it. Long story short the insurance appraiser approved of him to work on the house but will not pay anywhere close to the amount he was asking. He said it was a ridiculous amount. And it was. So we had to pay $10,000 out of pocket and of course we didn't have that because Rommel said that the insurance will pay! With the threat of putting a lien we had to scrounge and borrow to pay him! On a side note, he admitted that he was doing an insurance scam on his house to have some work done and this is why he didn't want to meet one of the agents because it may be the same one that will visit his house. My first clue that I should have stayed away was when he drove up to collect his payment in a lamborghini or ferrari(Forget which one). And I recently saw him in a brand new hummer! How can someone live with themself knowing that they rip people off to live a lavish lifestyle. It's beyond me! Thank you Rommel and please don't even respond to this review because you always have to try to justify yourself when it is a bunch of hot air. read more

Total scammer giving ridiculous pricing for plumbing repair by telling you to replace pipes which you don't need. Big talk by Rommel on how he has over 26 years of experience in plumbing work and that he knows his stuff. He will also try to give you life lessons while being a plumber. Don't bother with this company. Save yourself headache and money, try someone else. Came to our property to clear a clog, did a half-ass job, and charged a ripoff price, two days later clogged again. Won't come back to fix the issue. BE WARNED!!! read more

This review is not on Lil Rooter's quality of work. Use Lil Rooter if you enjoy paying Cadillac prices for your plumbing jobs. He does a quality plumbing job. But his rates is much higher than other plumbers I have used in the Hayward Fremont area. He'll give you a quote, telling you such national plumbing company charges this higher rate, etc. to convince you his rate charging reasonable rate. But fact is there are so many reasonably charging plumbers and internet special offers going on the internet (about 20-40% cheaper than lil rooter's quote), MAKE SURE you ALWAYS get a second quote. ESPECIALLY if it's an emergency service call. (Yes, I had used Lil Rooter before for an emergency job.) He charges 5% if you use credit card for payment. I have never had credit card charge extras with any other Plumbers. Perhaps this review will change his CC 5% charges? read more

Rommel seems cool enough but his prices are sky high. His guys spoke profanity in spanish, so they were rude. I had them fix a gas leak in my house but I still had a leak underground. The price they gave me for the underground was twice as much as I expected. Also he wasn't planning on using the best materials. Finally I found a very professional guy to do my underground for a fraction of Rommel's price. When PG&E came back to turn my gas on they said my stove was incorrectly connected and would leak. So I had to have someone fix their work. SMH I would never call them again. One star is too much. read more

Lil rooters provides GOOD QUALITY work. A very awesome owner with fair prices. I highly recommend them!!!

I very highly recommend Rommel, his company Lil Rooter, and his crew who have now done work for me at my residence twice. Rommel is extremely professional, knowledgeable, trustworthy and fair. He has done two major jobs at my home and I have been completely and happily satisfied with all the work done. I found that being able to view the sewer line problems I had using his camera hookup was so helpful in seeing and understanding exactly what the problems were. He and his crew worked efficiently and had what I consider a major job done quickly. It took a few days, but they were always careful to be sure I had full use of my plumbing each night when they left. In addition to tunneling under my house, they had to jackhammer through a concrete slab and also my porcelain tile at one portion of the job, and the area was re-tiled perfectly and left spotless. He and his crew were creative in finding a less-than-obvious way to fix a difficult access problem in a way that left no visible sign of their work. I can't say how much I appreciated that they went the extra mile in working out that solution, which saved me from losing cabinet space for them to route a pipeline. Rommel's crew were extremely neat, pleasant and respectful of my home. In addition to all of the above, Lil Rooter's prices are very competitive. I would definitely recommend Lil Rooter to my friends and family, and though I hope to have no more plumbing problems in the future, if I do need a plumber, Rommel and Lil Rooter will be the ones I immediately call! read more

I highly recommend lil rooter because they provide high quality service and fair pricing. Owner and workers are very reliable.

Best plumber in town! Prompt and efficient and very personable. Guaranteed quality work at a great rate. Thanks!

Outrageous estimates and had misdiagnosed the leak. Told me and my husband it was the main pipe, that he would need to break the driveway. His estimate was for $8000. When I called another plumber for another estimate, I was shocked, it was not the main pipes at all, it was the fire sprinkler system. Cost me $850. read more

I thought that this would be a good experience but, I was wrong! Rommel who is the owner and plumber came out 1/12 hours late and wasted valuable time. He removed toliets that I asked him not to. He kept putting off the installation of the kitchen sink and ran out multiple times to his truck. The work he did complete was actually not finished at all. I had to hire another plumber to fix the sink that was leaking and the tub water drain still is not set right. I contacted him because each item he touched was not completed as he stated it was and his timeframe which he quoted for all of the items listed for installation was not so. He never offered to come back to correct it or even give a discount for the inconvience. He told me to sue him for the money if I wanted it back. Do not, Do not use this company for any of your plumbing needs!!!!! read more
