I had a nasty clog backing things up and what turned out to be a small leak in one of my pipes. After a mild panic session, I called Star Rooter in Hayward. From the start, they were friendly and easy to talk to, which honestly helped calm me down. They came out, assessed everything, and let me know my line needed to be snaked. They explained what they were doing, didn't make me feel clueless, and got straight to work. The clog was cleared, and they were also able to fix the leak in my pipes the same visit. Huge relief. Now, plumbing work is not cheap -- and nobody is excited to pay for it -- but they got the job done efficiently and professionally. I'd rather pay once and have it handled correctly than deal with repeat issues. They mentioned there's a 10% discount if you say you found them on Yelp. I'm not 100% sure if it was applied to my final bill, but it's worth asking about when you call. Overall, solid experience. Friendly crew, quick response, and they fixed the problem without dragging things out. If you're in Hayward and dealing with plumbing drama, Star Rooter got it done for me.

On the first visit, the technician, Mohammed, didn't even inspect the system. He simply told us that older units are noisy and that our only options were to live with it or replace the entire system. Because the problem continued, our home warranty company scheduled a second visit. I specifically requested a different technician, but they sent the same person back. I tried calling their supervisor to come out or send someone else but they kept dodging my call. When I answered the door and explained the issue was still happening, he just shrugged his shoulders. I had to insist that he actually go into the attic and inspect the unit this time. After a short time, he came back down and said he had "tried everything" but never explained what he checked or what the actual problem was. Again, I was told the only options were to replace the system or live with the noise. I also never received any written work order explaining the diagnosis or repairs that were supposedly attempted. Not feeling confident, I hired another HVAC company for a second opinion. Within minutes, they diagnosed the real problem as a failing blower motor, explained everything clearly, and gave me the option to replace the motor instead of the entire HVAC system. The repair was completed that same week, and the vibration was completely resolved. I understand a 21-year-old system won't last forever, but every homeowner deserves a thorough inspection, a clear explanation of the issue, and repair options when they're available. Unfortunately, that wasn't the experience I had with Same Day Air.

He found (what he thought at the time) was the issue, got the parts, and repaired it in 4 hours. We thought everything was good and paid $375 for the repair. We ran the washer later that night and found there was still an issue. We reached back out and he said he'd come back the next day after his other jobs. Communication started lagging here. He initially told us he'd come between 4-6, but didn't say anything til 6:30. Came ~7pm and worked on the washer again. About 1.5 hours later, found another issue and said he'd come back Monday. On Monday, I reached back out and he wasn't super responsive. Heard back that he was at the store getting the part and that's the last we heard from him. We've reached out several times via text, Yelp, and phone call. We've left multiple messages and he's completely ghosted us. I should've done more digging into his past bad reviews, because this is consistent with those. I recommend finding someone else. It's not worth the chance of not getting your appliance fixed AND being out money. We could've just bought a new washer at this point.

The last thing as a customer you would want is pay these guys and wait for a part and they vanish completely. It's been over 3 weeks and I still have no communication from them. Very unprofessional. Would proceed with a diff service technician at this point as the job could be easily done in 3-4 days turn around time. Sorry ! Update 2: Based on the review feedback from Mark, if there is any delay in parts order, I think it is basic sense to inform the Home warranty company (who gave the service technician vendor the job) as well as the customer with a more accurate timeline. During the time of charging the service fee for diagnostics, it was mentioned the part should be delivered in less than a week. If this was completely off, an immediate timely update would be appreciated. Last, I am not sure how a business runs when they are not reachable on the phone ever, nor any correspondence through messages. Sorry! That's not at all an average customer experience, let aside a good experience.

About 7 year ago, I asked my neighbor, who he recommended as a plumber, and he told me about Dr Plumbing. It was a local, family owned company with a good reputation of quality work at a reasonable price. We began working with them more than 7 years ago and continue to use them today. James and his crews recently completed a copper repiping of our 55 year-old home, and we are extremely pleased with the whole process. They demonstrated deep experience with repiping difficult older homes, and were deservedly proud of their finished work. The workmanship was of such quality that even the plumbing inspector said "great job!", adding that the work was among the best he had seen. James was also adept at guiding the inspector quickly through his appointed rounds. Their high level of professionalism was apparent in each step of the process, from planning through finished work. The cleanliness was outstanding, including spreading drop cloths, and clean-up at the end of each day. They were prompt, worked tirelessly, and met their predicted deadlines; all the while maintaining a perfect balance between friendliness and personal boundaries. I called APlus Plumbing for a leaking main water valve, within one hour they sent their plumber Juan and his assistant Jose. They Gave me a reasonable estimate and I accepted. Juan showed me the new valve he was going to install. He did a professional job cutting and extending the copper pipe and replacing the valve. It wasn't easy getting the water drip to stop to let him do the needed soldering even though I had all the faucets in the house on, but they figured out how to make the drip to stop, and finally soldered the joints. The job wasn't easy because the pipe was in a tight space and against the wall under a pool of muddy water in the front yard, so they worked together to get it done. They were careful with the soldering joints and examined around it with mirror to make sure there was no new leaks. They were very friendly and communicated clearly what they were doing and the whole thing took one hour. After they left I called him again with a question and he picked up and answered right away. These guys were beyond fantastic. Our kitchen sink was backed up, and we tried everything to fix it ourselves (to no avail). After finding so many good reviews of APlus Plumbing, I decided to give them a call and see if they could help us out. They immediately dispatched Juan to our house, and he arrived very quickly. Once here, he and Jose got right to it. I was given an estimate up-front, and they stuck to it. The work was done quickly, professionally, and with a very friendly attitude. Not only did they solve my problem, but they were quick to give me tips on how to avoid it (and other future problems). If you are calling for emergency service, you should understand that that comes with a price - however I found it totally reasonable, and well worth it. APlus Plumbing came out to fix a leaky kitchen sink. The garbage disposal had been removed and the sink had been plumbed with PVC pipe by someone else. One of the connections was not staying put anymore - leaky sink. Juan and Jose found a can of worms they had not planned on. They re-plumbed the sink so it drained better, found a clogged kitchen line and replaced the strainer. The strainer was in so tight, they had to get the saws-all. Also, Juan had to crawl under the house to inspect the line to the kitchen. What a job! Juan and Jose were on time, no complaints over the "suprises", professional and polite. Juan had been to the house 2 or 3 years before and remembered us. He gave us a good price and all was well in about 2 hours. From now on, we will call Juan & Jose from APlus Plumbing! Great job! Juan is spectacular. I had a main drain clog that was backing up all of the systems in the house. I was able to get an appointment the next day, Juan was there promptly, flushed the system and snaked a camera through to discover three bundles of roots in the (original ca. 1950) main drain. We set up an appointment for later in the week, he came with two other knowledgeable and respectful workers and replaced the main drain in just 3.5 hours. Everything works just fine now and he also installed two cleanouts for the main drain (original drain didn't have any). Most importantly, Juan was knowledgeable, honest, reasonable, and upfront about all of my options (I also did quite a bit of research beforehand, and the information he related to me was quite similar to what I found). read more

Throughout the process, she kept me updated on their estimated time of arrival through text messages. James and Miguel arrived at around 3 pm and diligently addressed our sewer drainage problem. I called them because two of my tenants had leaking sinks. They said they could set an appointment for tomorrow and I asked if they could come tonight and they did! A couple of plumbers flaked on me, but James came by and took care of both my problems in less then an hour. I had him replace one garbage disposal and one pipe under another sink. James, the owner of APLUS Plumbing, is our go-to plumber for all our family's plumbing needs. He's helped us twice this week, once at my dad's home where he replaced a valve for a leaking toilet the same day we called. My dad was extremely grateful for the prompt and effective service. I needed a plumber ASAP and looked on Yelp for assistance. After 45 minutes phoning James to inform him of our toilets not draining properly he arrived and quickly diagnosed and solved the issue. I appreciated how efficiently this process was done as well as him answering my numerous questions to my satisfaction. I felt relieved James told me I did not need to have my pipes replaced yet, which would had been expensive for me, and that they were still okay. I appreciated his honesty. My water heater stop working this evening. I called several water heater service companies near Tri Vally area and did not get response from them. I searched Yelp and called APlus. Our lines were backed up, all drains plugged. Called APlus Pulmbing and they were here within a couple of hours. Juan and James showed up and all was running in a matter of minutes. Juan and Miguel came out this morning to replace some 70-year old galvanized pipes under the house. The pipes were badly corroded, leaking, and hopelessly clogged. There wasn't enough space under the house to replace the pipes so Juan had to dig a trench in the dirt under the house. They finished the job in less than three hours. I want to thank Eduardo Novarro for taking care of the outdoor faucet leaks in my backyard yesterday. He replaced the main shutoff valve and also the second shutoff on the back side of house, using brass valves, and capping off the old lines. It will be so much easier to use these new shutoff valves. He also installed a hose-bib by the shutoff in the front yard using a brass valve. I will be contacting APLUS for future plumbing needs. read more

I had a nasty clog backing things up and what turned out to be a small leak in one of my pipes. After a mild panic session, I called Star Rooter in Hayward. From the start, they were friendly and easy to talk to, which honestly helped calm me down. They came out, assessed everything, and let me know my line needed to be snaked. They explained what they were doing, didn't make me feel clueless, and got straight to work. The clog was cleared, and they were also able to fix the leak in my pipes the same visit. Huge relief. Now, plumbing work is not cheap -- and nobody is excited to pay for it -- but they got the job done efficiently and professionally. I'd rather pay once and have it handled correctly than deal with repeat issues. They mentioned there's a 10% discount if you say you found them on Yelp. I'm not 100% sure if it was applied to my final bill, but it's worth asking about when you call. Overall, solid experience. Friendly crew, quick response, and they fixed the problem without dragging things out. If you're in Hayward and dealing with plumbing drama, Star Rooter got it done for me.

Our hallway bathroom had a clogged and cracked P-trap along with a very slow draining bathtub. I messaged Monarch Plumbing and received a response within 30 minutes. I told them my availability for a consultation and they were able to accommodate with no issues. Jack was the service advisor that came out to meet with me and check the issues that we outlined. He explained the various options that were available to fix the problems and sent an estimate that outlined the various work that they could do as well as combining multiple repairs with the sink and installing a garbage disposal that I wanted replaced. After selecting the scope of work option and letting Jack know his team came out the next day to start working. When his team came out they smelled gas outside of our house and Jack immediately called me. I called PGE and they came out to check the situation and found a gas line had a leak on the side of the house where a tree had been recently removed. Jack and his team (Jack, Jose, Manuel, Hector, and Jose) were quick and professional with all plumbing issues and did fantastic work. They then also sent me an estimate for the repair/replacement of the gas line which they also repaired. The communication, professionalism, and quality of work that Monarch Plumbing, Jack and his team gave were all absolutely top notch-5 stars. Almost 3 weeks after they initially came - I've called twice and politely asked for an estimate and it still hasn't been sent to me, no followup, etc. I finally ended up calling another plumbing company and the issue was fixed within 1.5 hours, during their first visit. Thank you to the Capelli team, however, I don't feel comfortable using them again as I am confident the initial triaging of the main issue should not have taken a full hour when it only took the other company 5 minutes to explain what he'd be doing and fix it. I would reconsider my review of Capelli Plumbing if they hadn't spent an entire hour at my place & charge for labor only to tell me they'd send an estimate that never came. After seeing how quick the other plumbing company fixed it, I sincerely feel Capelli Plumbing did not need to spend an entire hour at my place and could've left after 10 minutes if he didn't know how to fix it.
