Monarch Plumbing & Rooter did a great job taking care of our sewer problem quickly in one day for a reasonable price. They started the job in the morning digging 6ft down to replace the broken connection and put back the area as good as original. We needed a diverter changed on our Rohl bridge faucet. After the Monarch tech replaced the diverter the faucet started to drip. The tech said it was an issue the hot water cartridge. The cartridge was replaced but the drip continued. Another Monarch tech came to repair drip and said the hot water angle stop valve was leaking and was causing the drip. They replaced the angle stop valve but the drip continued. I sent the tech a video of the issue the same day telling them that the repair did not work. We had to turn off the hot water valve to stop the drip. We spent $660 to have a diverter changed and now have a faucet that has a drip and need to figure out how to repair or replace the faucet. I am not happy with the service we received from Monarch. If you have a high-end fixture, I would not recommend using this company. read more

We live in an older home in Hayward that is built on a slab with no crawl space which means plumbing issues are a bigger headache (and more costly) than a home with a crawl space. Our hallway bathroom had a clogged and cracked P-trap along with a very slow draining bathtub. I messaged Monarch Plumbing and received a response within 30 minutes. I told them my availability for a consultation and they were able to accommodate with no issues. Jack was the service advisor that came out to meet with me and check the issues that we outlined. He explained the various options that were available to fix the problems and sent an estimate that outlined the various work that they could do as well as combining multiple repairs with the sink and installing a garbage disposal that I wanted replaced. After selecting the scope of work option and letting Jack know his team came out the next day to start working. When his team came out they smelled gas outside of our house and Jack immediately called me. I called PGE and they came out to check the situation and found a gas line had a leak on the side of the house where a tree had been recently removed. Jack and his team (Jack, Jose, Manuel, Hector, and Jose) were quick and professional with all plumbing issues and did fantastic work. They then also sent me an estimate for the repair/replacement of the gas line which they also repaired. The communication, professionalism, and quality of work that Monarch Plumbing, Jack and his team gave were all absolutely top notch-5 stars. We hired Monarch Plumbing Inc. located in Hayward, for our home in Concord. The main reason we considered Monarch, even though they weren't exactly local, were the rave reviews we read from other delighted customers. We were especially impressed with their team leader "Eli" who kept us clearly informed, every step of the process. We had multiple sewer & drainage problems, that needed serious attention. Monarch worked with the City of Concord regarding the strengent bldg. permit process & kept us up to date at every juncture. They rebuilt our kitchen sinks drainage & disposal system, replaced collapsed pipes under our foundation AND installed a new Trench-less Sewer Line (60ft.) from the home & connected it with the cities main line. This project required permits & multiple inspections by City of Concord staff. The project took only 3 days to complete & we couldn't be more thrilled with the work completed. The only thing that remains, is some minor kitchen cabinet repairs, that were not included in the scope of work to be done. Eli & his team are efficient with their time & professionals you can trust. They said we can be there 5 pm today but it's going to be dark and it's outside work so I asked for the next day before the huge rain is coming! At 11:30 am i called they said oh the technician is running late he said he would call you but he did not! Highly recommend Monarch plumbing for their fair and honest business practices. The toilet had been leaking, but the tech (Antonio) was not able to see it fail. He gave me a choice: 1) wait and see or 2) tear it down to investigate further. The best part of the 'wait and see' was that there would be no charge for the current visit. He also told me that if a clog was the cause, that the snaking could be done from the sewage trap which would be much cheaper than if it was done from the toilet. Because I did not know where the Cleanout location was, he located it and opened it up, to additionally check that the toilet(s) were running freely. Very thorough and totally customer focused. In the services industry, there are some good apples and there are a ton of really, really bad apples. Monarch Plumbing & Rooter is one of those good applies. Let me explain. I need a burst pipe changed (non-emergency because I am able to shut down the water line to my unit and this property is not currently occupied). I asked for the earliest window on a Monday and was given a window from 8am to 9am. Wow. This is only a 1 hour window, not 2 or 4 like I'm used to. The day before, I call Monarch to verify my appointment and someone says, you're all set! At 7:57am, I'm pulling into my community and at the stop sign, I see a "Monarch" truck ahead. I'm thinking, "Wow, I'm pretty sure that's them, and right on time? Awesome!" Low and behold, it was Monarch. Eli and Hector comes out of their truck, inspects the burst pipe, gives me a quote that is in accordance with what I was told earlier, and get to work. Eli and Hector prepared where the pipe was and put mats everywhere "just in case" water splashes. They replace the old corroded flexible copper pipe with a brand new shiny stainless steel flexible pipe, get everything fixed, test everything, and tells me that they're done. Take payment, clean up, and out at around 8:50am. And when I say clean up, I mean they brought their own garbage bag to put everything away and haul it away. Eli told me he guarantees his work for 90 days and asks me if there is anything else I need. I get an invoice from Monarch in my email within 10 minutes from when they leave--I'm impressed. I'm glad I went with Monarch and Eli and Hector made this experience extremely pleasant. Kept me apprised and updated. Eli went and adjusted a copper pipe because it was in the way of something--which he didn't need to. I'm definitely using Monarch again for any plumbing services I need. I originally attempted to change the valve on both the bathtub and a kitchen sink in a very old Victorian house. When the new valves wouldn't work, I called monarch plumbing. Antonio gave me excellent advice to simply replace both entire fixtures with new faucet sets, and abandon the old hard to repair ones. Great advice. Then, the real work began.
