I cannot recommend AB's Plumbing Service highly enough. I called AB's Plumbing in a panic after my toilet backed up and sewage started coming up through my bathtub. Needless to say, I was horrified. When I described the situation over the phone, the plumber immediately knew what the problem was and explained that I likely had a backed-up sewer line. He told me he'd be there within about an hour, and he was. When he arrived, he went straight to work. He located the cleanout in my front yard, removed the cap, and sewage and toilet paper came shooting out of the pipe--definitely not a pleasant sight, but it confirmed the problem. He then ran a camera through the line and showed me exactly what was causing the backup: tree roots had intruded into the sewer pipe. What impressed me most was how quickly they responded. He told me a crew would be out the very next morning--even though it was a Saturday--to make the repair. True to his word, the crew arrived as scheduled and worked well into the evening to get everything fixed properly. But the service didn't stop there. After completing the repair, they offered to spread mulch over the area where they had dug the trnech to install the new pipe. However, not only did they mulch the area of their work, but generously offered to spread mulch throughout the entire yard. By the time they finished, not only was my sewer line repaired, but my yard looked better than it ever had before. I feel like I got the benefit of a plumber and a landscaper! I was scared to call a plumber since in the past, I had unfortunate experiences where plumbers replaced with cheap parts, doubled the cost of what's quoted, leave a dirty mess, etc. When I saw that AB's Plumbing had many great reviews, I decided to try my luck with Abraham for my mom's plumbing issue. I called at 4:26 pm on a Saturday and he said he can come within 2 hours. After I described the issue, he diagnosed it as clogged main sewer line and quoted me between $450 - 800 + cost of parts. This is including Yelp discount and he did not charge extra for emergency hours. He was professional, friendly and guaranteed that he would not go over $800 + parts, so I decided to go with him. Abraham arrived at 5:43 pm and did a thorough inspection and preliminary work before deciding to remove a toilet to access the main sewer line. He said that normally there is an extra charge for removing the toilet but he won't charge. He went through a step-by-step process to ensure that water didn't overflow in the bathroom and kept the area clean. He also used a new blanket to put his equipment on top of. Abraham spent 1 hour or so, bent over while unclogging with a snake machine; it's tough physical work. Once he got through the clog, he said since it was very impacted, cost will be $800 + parts = $825. Abraham ran water through the pipes with the backyard hose and unclogged the bathtub that had sewage backflow. I asked him to check if the toilet works properly and so, he fixed the toilet handle. Abraham cleaned the area around the toilet and washed the bathtub well. Disinfectant spray was used around the toilet area. It was a nice job cleaning after himself. I was nervous about the final bill since past plumbers I've dealt with would still increase the bill at the end after work is completed. Abraham kept his word; it remained at $825 even though it was getting late (~8pm) and he did few things like fixed the toilet handle / unclogged the tub. Overall, Abraham was thorough and meticulous in his work and he talked to me throughout the process, letting me know what he was doing and explaining it (he first asked if I wanted to know). We had them come out to fix a pipe in our sink that broke while I was trying to clean the P-trap. We were initially quoted about $250 for snaking the drain, which rose to $300 when they realized they would need parts. Abraham came, opened the replacement pipe without first measuring, and was surprised when it didn't fit. He opened a different part (still not doing any measurements), and was surprised when that one didn't fit, either. He used his screwdriver to try to chisel the opening in the sink so that the second pipe would fit (which I thought was weird, but didn't question since they came highly recommended), but it still didn't fit. He left (still not doing any measurements!) and said that they would come back the next day with the part they needed. This time the part actually fit, and Abraham replaced it, giving me a minor heart attack when he started filling the sink to test for leaks without putting a bucket under it first. He noticed that the hot water line was slow (it has been for years due to accumulated sediment in the cartridge), and again used his screwdriver as a chisel to try to hammer away at the sediment. I personally watched him do this with both the hot and cold lines. He couldn't fix it (obviously, it's not the kind of problem that can be fixed with a chisel or it would have been fixed by previous plumbers), and he told us that the bill would be $500 rather than $300 because of parts. I suspect this was because he was including the cost of the incorrect parts that he opened (even though that was due to his own negligence in not having measured the sink opening), and he didn't actually snake the line (which was included in the original estimate), but whatever. At least our sink was fixed. Right? Wrong. After he left, I showed my wife the repairs that had been made, and we immediately noticed that the cold water handle now leaks like crazy whenever it's turned, which it absolutely was not doing before. I called them the next morning (today), and Isaac came out. He confirmed that the handle was damaged from within, but Abraham denied ever touching that side of the sink (even though I personally watched him chisel away at the exact thing that ended up broken). Isaac just said that it was an old sink, which is true, but it's only one day older today than it was yesterday. It wasn't even leaking while Abraham was testing the new drain pipe; it only started after he decided to bang on it with a screwdriver. They had no interest in doing anything to fix it and now I'm going to have to find a real plumber to clean up their mess.
