Beautiful showroom. Ample available, professional, knowledgeable, serviceable sales assistants and warehouse staff on site to package /load their beautiful lighting fixtures. I needed 2 exterior chandeliers asap and Amanda assisted me. I also purchased an interior chandelier from their final sale items. Unfortunately the ceiling mount did not get packed with the other parts .... but amazing Amanda delivered the important part to my house the next day ! Now that is great customer service! Working with Lights Fantastic, specifically the manager, Bob Contos, was a frustrating waste of our time and energy. My wife and I were trying to buy a set of pendant lights arranged into a chandelier for our new home. Bob said it would be no problem and promised us a quote within 24 hours. After responding to my first email, Bob completely went dark for over a week, ignoring all of my follow up emails. After three emails with no response, I started calling the store. Bob answered the first call and promised he would get me a quote in the next 48 hours (this is already a week after we were promised the initial quote). Trying to give the benefit of the doubt, I chalked it up to covid and told him that was fine, we looked forward to getting the quote. Two days later - no word from Bob. I called again. Bob answered and said he was with a customer, but he'd call me back in 15. Didn't call back. Emailed again, no response. Called again, associate answered and asked if we'd like Bob to call us back. We explained that we very much would but we're concerned that he wouldn't. He assured us he would do everything he could do get Bob to call us back. He didn't. We wasted weeks trying to give Lights Fantastic our money. Eventually, we gave up and went to Circa Lighting - had the light ordered within 24 hours, delivered 7 days later. Look, i am sorry but for gawds sakes. I have been to this store 3 times this week looking for a new lighting fixture for my bathroom upgrade. First time was on a Saturday. Not particularly busy i thought but they did not seem to have many staff there to help. I stood around for a good 30 min looking around and not once did anyone even attempt to acknowledge i was even in the store. So i leave and chalk it off to a busy Saturday. I came back Tuesday and got the same treatment. Waited and waited and no one ever said "We'll be with you shortly sir" or "Can i help you find something" . The staff here would walk across the floor and totally avoid eye contact with anyone there. And i was not alone. I overheard another couple ask each other if they were ever going to get help as well. Frustration factor up to 6.8 and so i leave. I came back on Wed with my wife since we really actually wanted to purchase a light here. But it was the same story again. I could not believe the lack of attention given to potential customers here. I gave it 10-15 min and had enough and we left. I really do not get it ! read more

Updating this review to 5 Stars. Some sections of the LED Rope weren't lighting correctly, and it was deduced to be an issue with the DMX Controller. LF, and specifically their Outdoor Lighting Coordinator, Angela went out of their way to make things right. They upgraded the DMX to a much better model no questions asked, and it appears to have fixed the issues. Also, we purchased RGB Wall Washers and Linears since the last review, and they are top of the line lighting gear. As to total wattage utilized I couldn't be happier either...I'm running 150 feet of rope and it's consuming about 100 Watts per hours if I keep the system rotating through the different colors. Each Wall Washer is eating about 40 Watts but providing incredible lighting levels. Here is the Lumen info on the Wall Washers: 528lm (Red), 840 lm (Green), 180 Blue That is incredible for LED's. In summary, the entire system lighting my house and yard is burning 180 Watts. That's an effing bargain, that is!!! I suggest this company for anyone interested in creating unusually arty security lighting. LOL read more

It's all in the name -- you'll totally trip when you walk in here and are confronted with the fun and funkiest and sparkliest light fixtures and chandeliers available. I am not a home owner but I want to be with all the awesomeness this spot offers. Two times I've had to drop in to get little lights for some dangly fixtures Ive got in the bathroom and both times they've been very knowledgeable and professional. They get what I need right away and mores the pity because I want to wander and gape. If you are looking for inspiration, ideas or lighting to jazz up your home, definitely make this one of the stops. I do Not recommend Lights Fantastic Because the sales people never get back to you. I have a large home construction that I need to purchase lighting for throughout. First time I went they took two weeks to get back the quote and it was wrong so I went back again. Now a month later of excuses and then flat out not responding I have given up on trying to get the quote from them. Also, their store looks beautiful and has a great selection but the entire place reeks of cigarettes. Just go to Ferguson. They will get you everything you need. read more

This is a local business worth supporting. Most independent lighting stores in Austin are set up to support designers and builders, to the detriment of retail customers. But not Lights Fantastic. Their staff is UNBELIEVABLY helpful (Lauren has been a huge help, and Bob, the GM, took time to answer our questions patiently, and with a smile on his face) and the selection is gorgeous. They have consistently steered me toward the best solution for my home, not just the most expensive model. They give their expertise away for free, which is a big value. I honestly can't recommend them highly enough. Some of the other reviews on here complain that they could buy the products cheeper on Amazon. Duh. But you can't see the actual product, ask questions, get advice. That bargain hunting is destroying the middle class and local economies, leaving only the big chain stores like Crate and Barrel intact. If you want bargain prices and service from people who don't really know what they're talking about, go somewhere else. I would give this business a zero, but it was not an option. We walked up to the door 5 minutes before they closed. The employee saw us coming up the stairs and locked the door. They weren't closed yet. We only needed one minute to ask if they carried a particular part. This business obviously doesn't care about the customer. We will never go back there. Wow, so RUDE! I have been shopping at Lights Fantastic since 1996 and just got the rudest service from girl who answered phone. I have an antique chandelier that needs a longer chain and wire and my electrician suggested checking with Lights Fantastic to see if they could re-wire it or recommend someone who could. Whoever at extension 500 that answered my call asked how she could direct my call. I explained I wanted to know if they could re-wire an antique chandelier. Her rude reply was "Uh you know we aren't electricians right" Yes, I am well aware they are not electricians and now they will not be supplying lights or bulbs to me either. read more

This place makes me want to scream.. and that's saying a lot because I'm generally a calm person. Everyone is very nice, but they seem completely disorganized. I ordered a couple pendent lights on their website and shipping took forever. I finally called them and they said that only one light had showed up.. and that they would get back to me. Never did. I called several days later and they told me that UPS lost the one of the lights and that they would need to order another one. Keep in mind that I'm remodeling my kitchen and already paid for installation with them. They were essentially kept on hold this entire time. Lights Fantastic assured me that the second light would be delivered in 5 days. Fine. What choice do I have? So I waited the five days and called to see if the light was ready for pickup. Guess what! They NEVER PLACED THE ORDER! Promptly cancelled my order. To the credit of the manager, they did offer to do free installation of the second light. This is why I gave them two stars and not one. We went by lights fantastic today to look for lighting for our new home. There were THREE sakes people at their desks & not a single one looked up from their computer to greet us... not even a hello. We walked around the entire showroom TWICE - and still not a single person offered to help- said hello - NOTHING. They do have nice lights, but it is not worth the trouble dealing with the staff. Buy your lights elsewhere unless you like being abused. We live nearby and have gone into Lights Fantastic several times recently because we want to replace a number of light fixtures in our new house. Without fail, all 4 times, we were never once greeted or acknowledged and no employee ever offered any sort of help. And it's never been particularly busy. All 4 times we left. Typically I expect a certain level of service at a high end store such as this, particularly when they're not going to compete on price. First I would say that this place is a lot of fun to look around in. They have a very unusual selection of lights along with a good number of ceiling fans. If you're in to home decorating this should be on your list of places to check out. As Jacob T. says in his review it is hard to get help while you are shopping and it's not really clear why. Service overall has been an issue for us as you can see in my examples below. On one occasion we went shopping for a ceiling fan after seeing a 20% off coupon in the paper. We forgot it and asked the salesperson if we needed to run and get it in order to get the discount. She told us that the discount didn't apply to fans. When we got home and read the coupon we found that wasn't the case. It took a second visit to get the difference returned to us even though we asked about it up front. On a different occasion we ordered a floor lamp. It came in a couple of weeks later and we picked it up. When we got it home is was the wrong color and the lamp socket was all busted up. We also didn't receive the glass shade for the lamp. We returned it and they ordered the correct one for us. When that one came in it was in good shape but still no glass shade. They offered to find the shade and ship it to us. They were to call on Monday and let us know when it would arrive. We never heard from them. I called again on Friday and was told I would get a call back that evening. Never happened. I called again today and was finally told that they had reordered the shade. I don't mind that they had ordering problems but following through on the phone calls would have made a huge difference in my opinion of their service. I would give them one star, but they do have some really cool stuff so it's worth a look. With any luck your experience will be better. read more

Walked into store to make a purchase today and two girls were just standing around the desk. I mentioned what type of lighting I was looking for and they just pointed me in the direction. I had questions, They Mention how shortstaffed they were but I was the only one in the store. Got so turned off I decided to walk away and the sales person said "Great" as I was walking out. I have shopped here before with mixed feelings. I attempted to buy here again because they sell high quality items that I have not found elsewhere. In general, the prices are high however, I value personal service and I desire supporting local businesses. With that in mind I do not mind paying a premium. I stopped by last week and walked up to the door. They were open however the door was locked with a sign that says appointment only. I walked to my car and called to see when I could make an appointment. No one answered the phone. I walked back to the door and noticed two sales people inside. One was standing right next to the phone. I called again. No answer and there was not even a glance in my direction. So... I left and thought I would come by another time. I drove by again today. I sat in their parking lot (calling the business) as I watched 3 separate couples come go their door and then ultimately leave. 2 of the 3 couples looked directly at store employees only to turn around and leave. I (thinking I was the smart one) was calling them on my phone from my car. I called multiple times (their VM system seems to be having some sort of issue). All of my calls were unanswered again. I understand Covid-19 has put a strain on everything. I also (to some extent) understand requiring an appointment. With that said this is a retail lighting store. I cannot make an appointment with you if you do not answer your phone. I FINALLY left the parking lot today when (after calling multiple times) I saw the sales rep sit at the main computer (right next to a phone) and get on her cell phone instead of answering my call. The last purchase I made here was very expensive and I paid hundreds more than I would have buying the same thing online (I checked after I bought last time). Huge selection and kind of entertaining to browse through. I was actually surprised at how reasonable the prices were, and doubly surprised to find cool non-lighting items here, like their collection of lucite dining chairs. It was crazy busy on the Saturday I last stopped in, so if you have the opportunity to shop here on a weekday you may get better service. Not that they were rude or anything, simply overrun. This is also close to all of the home decor businesses along Burnett/Anderson, so it's pretty convenient if you're redoing parts of your house and have a lot of that sort of thing to shop for. read more

I had rather an unusual problem - I needed a downrod extension for a fan i bought online. Problem was - it was 1/2" which no stores in town seemed to have in stock. They found 1/2" downrod of a right length, but it was without threads on both ends (different model of the fan). So these guys, without me even thinking about such idea, offered me to cut thread! I've never bought anything more than a torchiere at Pottery Barn, so I felt a little overwhelmed at the prospect of choosing lights for our new home until the last possible minute. So I walked into their store knowing I needed lights but had no idea where to start. Heather, the sales manager, is fantastic. I would estimate she spent at 15-20 hours working with me helping me design our lights. She has a never ending supply of great ideas and patience for customers like me who have a hard time making a decision. She'll give you her opinion if you ask and if you help her understand the look you want or mood you're trying to create with lighting, she has great suggestions. Not only is she very knowledgable and professional, she's also really nice. Like any housing supply place, it's best if you make an appointment and they're busy on the weekends. Even if I didn't have an appointment, I called ahead to see if Heather was available, and I never had to wait. The store is well organized and they have a wonderful selection, especially of modern and transitional lighting. All our orders came in quickly, service was very professional. They respond quickly to emails and phonecalls. I expected their prices to be high, because the store is so nice and their service is so great, but they're very reasonable. I went into this store searching for light fixtures for my business. They do have an amazing selection of any type of light you'd ever need. I was in there however for nearly ten minutes and none of the several employees even said hello or asked how they could help me. The prices are also incredibly high for even some of the smaller items. It would be wonderful if they had a few more options that were a little friendly on the wallet.
