I thought I would try this place as an alternative to the two big boxes that are typically overpriced. Everyone inside was really nice, friendly faces, clean store. They stock things that are not available at other places and have very good prices. But the good stops there. Staff struggled to answer any of my questions and were generally unhelpful.
Then it got worse. I bought and needed some boards cut. It was far more economical to buy larger boards and pay to cut them, and easier to transport them as well. I bought 10 12ft'ers and paid to have them cut into 3's. This is something any lumber yard, or box store, does for me all the time. 1st cut was way off. I thought oh its just a bad board, 2nd cut, way off. How hard is it to cross cut a 2x8 straight? I told the young man to stop before he ruins any more boards. I showed him the parallelogram he just produced and he acted like there was no problem. Using a tape measure I showed him the cut was off, and not even close to square. About 5-7º off from 90º. Anyone who works with wood knows this its not hard to cut 90º with a chop saw.
After a quick search for a manager, I told him A, replace the boards that were just screwed up, and B, fix the saw because it was clearly effed up and the worker didn't even attempt to adjust the saw. That took 20 minutes -- a sloth could move faster than this guy --and really looked like he did not want to help. Then to my shock, he started beating on the saw with a hammer! there was an allen key sitting right next to it to loosen it, and he is throwing solid swings at the metal back plate to get it to move into 'square'. No, just no. No one does that. How the hell are you working in a lumber yard. This yokel had no business running a saw.
I watched this shit show for about 10 more minutes and asked for all my money back. Total waste of 2 hrs. But they did smile a lot at the front desk, so thanks for that. read more
