Absolute rip-off. It's essentially a tourist trap where they take advantage of the fact that you're on holiday and try to squeeze as much out of you as they can. We were offered drinks without showing us how much they were and in the end we realised that they were charging us 500 pesos per margarita when the average price in general is 80-100 pesos. We weren't asked what type of tequila we wanted in them either so we assume they decided to use the most expensive one to charge us the max fee and on top of that they were watery so not even good. The service was also slow and the food subpar. In the end we were brought a bill that was almost 5000 pesos for a little food and a handful of drinks. They also said that if you want to pay with AMEX they'll charge you double. Avoid this place at all cost - we've reported them to the local government for unfair business practices. read more

This was my best dining experience in Cancun. They have a stellar view and very comfortable couches and friendly service. We had coconut water and beer for drinks. For appetizer, started off with Shrimp ceviche which was on point and so yummy. Ordered Whole Fried fish as entree, fish was perfectly seasoned, not too oily and came with side of rice and veggies. We enjoyed our food here and the service was okay, but the experience was ruined at the end by our dishonest waiter. We'd each had an alcoholic drink and perhaps he thought we wouldn't pay attention when he brought back our change, which was 100 pesos short from what it should have been. He quickly dropped that off and disappeared. We had to seek him out, and suddenly he'd largely forgotten how to speak English or how to do simple math. Finally got the missing hundred pesos but it eliminated our desire to go back there again, which we would have, otherwise. I loved this little restaurant. It's often looked over because it is at the end of the marina after a swath of restaurants and most people end up choosing a place to eat before ever reaching Lighthouse. Well my husband and I kept walking to explore and decided to try it because they had less business than all the other places and we were so glad we did. There were huge tv screens for sports which my husband loved. The service was really nice and the bartender even gave us complimentary shots. We ordered melon ball shots and blue lagoon cocktails and they were both delightful. We also shared the shrimp fajitas and they were awesome! The shrimp had a great char flavor and the vegetables were perfect as well. Great option for lunch. Pescadillo were light and perfectly fried and the octopus tacos were tender and flavorful (one of the best octopus dishes were had). Ceviche was also just right with nice herbs and not to much vinegar to overpower the fish. The waitstaff is very attentive and the view of the bay and associated water sports (like water hover shoes which guarantee face plants into saltwater) will keep you watching in the shade sipping your cold cerveza. read more

Juan was an amazing server! So nice and so helpful. My group started with the calamari, which was amazing. They offer cocktails and a small but decent selection of wines as well. I ordered the ceviche mixto and the octopus tacos. Everything was so fresh and perfectly seasoned. Salsa fresca and guac are awesome too. And the prices are super reasonable. Don't let me forget to mention the view - it's heavenly. Right on the water- perfect for taking in a sunset. It's on the back side of a mall, and all the other restaurants really try to get your business first, but don't be put off. Give it a try- totally worth it. read more

We didn't have reservations we just walked over from the Westin. They will give you happy hour specials or a dinning discount if you say you are from the Westin. Happy hour specials seem to go on all day from open to close. Beautiful views sitting on the water by the marina. The service was great and our waiter was helpful and so nice. The food is very average, large portions and fresh. A solid restaurant to eat at. This is definitely a seafood restaurant but they do have some other options. I ordered a salad without seafood for a starter and it was delicious. I regret not having that as my main meal with grilled shrimp, octopus or scallops. I had the chicken and shrimp fajitas. Wasn't crazy about the chicken as they were grilled tenders and had some chewy pieces. They did make it GF for me and provided corn tortillas. The food was pretty good. I would give it a 4/5 for food but I didn't like the fact my waiter said the service is included and added 30% tip into the bill and charge my credit card for it. I always tip minimum 15% but I can't stand going to places and the local try to swindle you. Make sure if you come here that they don't automatically add 30% gratuity to your bill. read more

Food and drinks were great and prices reasonable!! But let me tell you what brought us back a SECOND time....2 days in a row.....Gabriel! Gabriel won us over , including our daughter! We told him she always wanted to drink coconut juice from a fresh coconut! He hooked us right up! Only ordering drinks he patronized us as if we ordered a 5 course meal! I LOVED my drink and he was awesome enough to write down exact ingredients and engage in awesome conversation! He talked soccer with my husband as if we had known him for years! The next day we returned and skipped over all other restaurants in hope Gabriel would be working! My family of 3 ordered and my daughter (who is picky about steak) ate the entire thing plus dessert! My husband lived his ceviche as did I my shrimp burger! But again Gabriel went above and beyond! We really did leave still talking about how we felt like we could have made a new friend had our stay been longer and would have loved to sit and chat over drinks with him! LOVE this place! We go there every time we're in Cancun, twice a year. Their ceviche is excellent. Lots of lime and cilantro. I always get the salmon and my husband always gets the angus burger, both are an awesome choice. My mother and I were just looking for a small snack since we were tired of shopping and we came across this restaurant so we went in and the service was excellent but the food was horrible I ordered a ceviche and they charge me over $250 and I ordered a margarita because the lady at the front said that the margaritas were buy one get one free for that day being first customers and when I got the bill they want to charge me over $300 for one margarita which is the cost of tequila bottle in Mexico. When I asked the waiter why the cost was so high he claimed that the margaritas that were buy one get one are different kinds and I was never explain this. Overall the food was horrible and the price was horrendous especially for what we got we paid over $900 pesos for one ceviche, one margarita, and a piña colada. read more

So good! So amazingly good! We had come here on our last trip to Cancun and knew this was going to be our first place for dinner upon our arrival. Walk past all the other people shouting at you to eat with them and was to the end to The Lighthouse. The service was always amazing. They have a sizeable drink menu and an amazing for menu. I am not a fish eater but my friends and family loved everything they tried. My favorites are the Nachos (technically an appetizer but more than enough for a meal or a meal to share) and the pork tacos. Both so good. We ordered the tacos de pulpo al ajillo, the marlin tostada and Camarones a la diabla (devil shrimp, extra hot). Out of the 3 everybody agreed that the tacos de pulpo al ajillo (garlic octopus tacos) were the best. We ordered mangoritas and when we mentioned to the manager, I think his name was Javier, he made it right by making another one himself which was way better. I admit...I was nervous about eating at a waterfront restaurant because the food is never as good as the view. Well, this place proved me wrong. The cucumber and something like a spicy, lighter - colored mole arrived as a complimentary appetizer. Delicious. The grouper tacos were flat out delicious albeit skimpy on the grouper (thus the 4-star review). Service was impeccable, and dare I say every bit as good as a 5-star restaurant. This is seriously the best restaurant ever. They provide free wifi. The food is so fresh and the price is affordable. THE SERVICE IS SO GOOD. The waiters are extremely nice, when we wanted to dig the coconut meat, they provided to open it for us and gave us free lime and dipping. The exchange rate here is 1:14 for US dollar, unlike some restaurants use 1:13 or even 1:12 exchange rates. Love the restaurant! read more

I absolutely loved his place. As I was wandering around a very American mall in Cancun I came across a sweet "jalador" who talked me up for a bit and gave me a drink ticket - buy one, get one free. Because I wanted to watch the Mexico vs Equador futbol game on their big screen, I decided it would a good place to grab some some bites and a beer or two. The service was fantastic the deep-fried tacos are yummy. I got the combination plate. One taco with shark, one taco with disco though, one taco with shrimp.
