We went for lunch and Ricardo greeted us with a lot of personality and recommendations from the menu. The Passion salad, steak tacos, tortilla soup and silver margaritas were all delicious. The owner and wait staff were very friendly! There was a sign posted saying "cash only" but we didn't have any on us and we used card no problem (no fuss, surprised reading the other reviews about cash). Of all the restaurants I went to while in Cancun, this was hands down my favorite. The food was delicious. It was the best tocos I've ever had in my life. Walking up, the greeter was amazing. The co-owner took our order while sitting with us telling jokes and taking about life experiences. This is just to let everyone know the atmosphere was electric. My husband ordered a beer for a man and it was big enough for three men. I had the passion fruit margarita and it came in an over-sized mason jar...once again enough for two people or a real alcoholic (lol). The food, we both ordered steak and lobster with baked potatoes and toss salad. The food was flavorful and cooked to order. Please come see Andy!!! Oh, the price for two was under 150.00. Great value, great service, and great food! Do yourself a favor - skip right past the Chili's, Hooters, and other restaurants that want to churn/scam you and head straight to Baby Lobster. It's a bit tucked away on the north side of the Isla Mall, but that also makes for a nice relaxing meal on the 'riverfront' away from the crowds. Andy is a great server and makes you feel right at home - especially with the 2-for-1 martinis. We really enjoyed our meal here and would highly recommend it to others. Super easy to get to via the 10-peso buses that run up and down the hotel strip every 30 seconds. read more

The spot was great. We were walking and one of the waiters or owners stopped us and told us that the restaurant was the best. Of course everybody says that. But we decided to give it a shot Since we were dead tired and very hungry. So we walked in the waiters and the servers were awesome. My wife is the pickiest eater in the world. She absolutely loved her I think it was tequila shrimp amazing. The sauce was phenomenal. Of course I had to get the red snapper deep-fried. It was fantastic. The food was pretty decent and so was the service. However, this place is just another money grabbing operation as most places are in Cancun. First, the waiter (or the manager) took the liberty of giving themselves an 18% tip (we were just a party of 4 and there is nothing on the menu about mandatory tip). Then the waiter complains that the 18% tip they have charged needs to be shared with the rest of the staff and he wants additional tip 'just for himself'. I said I wanted a small margarita. He kept trying to tell me I should get the jumbo one. I told him no several times almost to a point that I wanted to cancel my drink. Then I ordered the lobster tacos. They were nothing special just ok. I only ate 1 of the 3. The margarita arrived and it was awful. It was strong and the tequila was nasty. My husband and I decided to take a chance and we were pleasantly surprised. We ordered lobster tacos and chicken tacos. These were not traditional style tacos but we enjoyed our food. We also ordered margaritas and enjoyed those too. I do wish I could remember our waiter's name but we are glad he convinced us to give them a try. My family and I walked across the street to the Isla Shopping center looking for a restaurant. We came across Baby Lobster and the waiter was friendly and was eager for us to eat there. The place was empty and I don't know if it was because of the location ( on the back side away from other restaurants. The setting was very nice as we sat outside along the canal. The food was good. I asked the waiter if the shrimp tacos were better fried or grilled. He suggested fried and I was sorry. I think they would have been better grilled. The real reason I'm giving it only 3 stars is that when the bill for 5 people came, we were told that they did not take credit cards. I was surprised because it is in the tourist zone and a very touristy shopping center. Only one of our group had brought cash and thank God he had enough for the 5 of us.
