What a great experience we had last night! We went with another couple and haven't ever had dinner here, I did however stay here for my wedding and have breakfast 14 years ago and wasn't a fan, but after last nights experience I can't wait to come again! We had dirty martinis, espresso, martinis and and old fashion my husband had water all were good. Started with 2 orders of bread and calamari, when we got the bread there were only 4 small pieces and before even asking our server y so little she immediately was like it looks like you didn't get much bread im sorry would you like more so that turned my frown upside down. Calamari was good nice and crispy Our entrees were seafood Alfredo( lobster was the show stopper for presentation), prime rib dip kidda what you'd expect, seafood boil literally amazing wild get again, and mine the crispy duck it was beautiful and so good wish there was a little more meat I ate the whole thing.

Main meal of daily fish (salmon). Absolutely delicious, and beautiful presentation, but um, thats alot of empty space on the plate.

The meal was absolutely delicious and the presentation was beautiful. Surprisingly small portion, however with lots of empty room on the plate. Fish of the day (salmon)

Beautiful place with amazing food. The staff is friendly. The environment is gorgeous and if you can get there on a sunny day, sit outside and have happy hour! All happy hour items are three dollars off a piece, which makes it a great deal.

My husband and I spent Memorial Day weekend in Bellingham, the Lighthouse Bar and Grill never disappoints. The atmosphere and ambiance is easily the first thing that is noticed it's very relaxed and adorned with great views of Bellingham Bay. I greatly appreciate the stellar we received from every staff member of Hotel Bellwether; our server Andrea was exceptional. The food also never disappoints, I really appreciate the menu including multiple vegetarian dishes. I will return and highly recommend!

Great breakfast spot--we had good service, beautiful views and delicious food. The thick cut toast and fresh strawberry jam looked amazing, and my own omelette was super satisfying without being heavy or greasy. The classic breakfast featured wonderful local sausage. This restaurant seemed to feature local foods, which we appreciated. If we can return for lunch or dinner, we will.

Eat outside and take in the lovely views with amazing food. PSA: It's on the water and can be cold, but they have blankets! Five of us went to dinner, we all had something different: Salad, duck, a sandwich...So obviously a very big range of cuisine. But the good part was that they were all so delicious that we couldn't choose which was best. Drinks are super creative and delicious, but woo! Some of them are STRONG. Service was really fantastic and very friendly. Despite it being freezing and breezy, the food stayed warm while we were eating, and the experience was super enjoyable. I'd suggest making a reservation for the weekend as it can be a prime location. OR - hurry down for a great happy hour!

We are at the far end of the restaurant , I t's quiet and we find the booths to be very private and comfortable.

We live locally in Bellingham, but a lot of people who come here are staying at the hotel. There's quite a few options for a good food in Bellingham, but we wanted to dress up a bit so we decided to go to the Bellweather. We've been here several times and always had a good time, about half the time we go to the bar side, but it was a bit busy tonight. We were greeted at the front by Erick who we hadn't met before. My wife and I are pretty social so we do enjoy having a host at a restaurant, this is something we were used to before we moved. Erick and our server Maureen were super cool, just the right amount of friendly, and just the right amount of letting us chill. We do like the vibe at Bellweather, it's a place where you can get dressed up a little bit but then completely chill. They had a great classical guitarist who was providing some super mellow tunes, perfect volume. Lighting was great, great mise en scène. We started with the crab cakes, then had them bring out a Caesar salad, then the scallop potatoes which are cut up, razor, thin. I thought the star was the potatoes and the very interesting sauce. Cap off with Pellegrino and mocktail since we don't drink, super mellow and enjoyable evening. We spent quite a bit of time there and it just slipped by pretty quickly. I don't understand the other reviews about the service, the service we got was prompt in excellent. Thanks to Erick and Maureen for helping us feel at home and I hope we'll be back soon!

We came here for our 32 wedding anniversary. We arrived early so we went to the bar for a few drinks. Not a great whisky selection for a High end place. We had an old fashion and it was not balanced at all. We love the view of the water for sure. The dining area is a great view of the bay as well. For the food well. We had prime rib and it was very fatty. They do not offer mash potatoes so which is so weird to me. I would have ordered the Fillet but I am not able to eat it without Mash potatoes. Over all the view was great and the service was awesome. The food for the price well I am not sure I would rush back.

Halibut! Absolutely divine

We had an absolutely perfect meal tonight. We started with the baguette with olive oil and balsamic. Then for dinner my husband had the filet with a glass of Caymus, and I had the halibut, pictured, both were cooked to perfection and the flavors were perfect. We ended with the Pots de Crème and a lemon tart. So amazing Our server really took the whole experience to a new level. Thank you for a great meal!

The fried calamari was goos but the crab melt was awful. Unseasoned, didn't taste any crab whatsoever.

Is there a dress code? Is it more upscale? I want to go for my birthday and I really want to dress up nice but I don't want to be too overdressed

I have never been for dinner, only brunch and lunch. It is Washington casual, a nice dress should work for dinner.

She was told to leave because you must order before sitting. She walked around the block while we waited in line for 25 minutes. At the till they asked our party size (6) and said groups of six incur a 20% auto-gratuity. I said we were four separate groups and wanted to pay separately. They insisted we pay together with the auto-gratuity. Auto-gratuity is fine, but six is small for that, especially when they don't take table orders. You wait in line, they drop off food, yet you can't sit until everyone has ordered. As Canadians we'd sort payments later. They said "we're a small business," and the till worker gave far too much attitude for a take-out coffee shop with auto-gratuity and assigned seating. We finally agreed to pay together. They checked for an outside table. Two guys sat at a "for three or more" table with no one enforcing the rule. The worker returned and said no tables were available. I said we'd take it to go. We got our coffee and left feeling negative. Our friends also ordered to-go sandwiches, and were told it would be a 40 minute wait. While waiting they sat down. When it was ready the server held their food hostage until they stood up to leave (can't sit at a table for a to go order). Cute atmosphere, terrible everything else. Don't expect a pleasant experience.

I don't know if I ended up with that, but they brought me the Seasmoke which was so extraordinary. I loved the dry Black Cherry Cider and one other whose name I don't recall (blond...and a little citrusy nice). Truffle fries were nice. Kale Caesar Salad is scrumptious. We were seated promptly by a friendly hostess at a table in DT Fairhaven, and our server was the bartender. After being seated, we waited a long time without anyone taking our order. We eventually asked if we had a server and were told it was him, with no apology or explanation. We ordered drinks and food, but after more than 40 minutes, we noticed two tables seated after us had already been served, finished eating, and were leaving. At that point, we asked for the check and said we would not be staying. About 15 minutes later, the server returned with our food instead of the check. We declined the meal and sent it back. He then asked if we wanted it boxed to go, which we also declined. His reaction suggested frustration rather than understanding. We never got to try the food, so we can't comment on it. The service, however, was well below expectations given the restaurant's reputation. This was lunch on July 15, 2026. We may try The Black Cat again in the future, hoping this was just an off day.

I have been coming to this restaurant since I was a young boy, attending special family dinners or just going to get pizza after soccer practice. Now well into adulthood I still find myself coming here with my wife for an excellent dining experience, any time or day of the week. This week we decided to go in for brunch, and I couldn't think of a better place to spend a dreary Washington morning. When you walk into this cozy little restaurant the smells of fresh breads and fried potatoes invite you into an elevated breakfast experience. Our hostess sat us down at a table almost immediately with the same friendly smile and welcoming attitude that I have come to expect from the staff at the fork. After sitting down and sipping of fresh squeezed orange juice we ordered two of our favorite breakfast plates. Chicken Fried Steak, and Corned Beef Hash. The Corned Beef Hash consisted two poached eggs sitting on a heaping pile of shredded corned beef that was both crispy and tender. Typically this dish is served with peppers and onions, but on this trip my wife opted out and the chef was happy to oblige our request. I can say from prior experiences that the peppers and onions are a fantastic addition to this mix. I went with the Chicken fried steak. A classic breakfast that requires a large appetite to face on your own! The cube steak was breaded and fried with the traditional seasonings, then covered in a house made gravy that was so rich and flavorful I couldn't put my fork down. I ordered mine with over medium eggs that were cooked perfectly, something that other kitchens can rarely get right. If you are a fan of Chicken Fried Steak then you must try this one! Both of our plates came with a large portion of golden brown home fries, and a fluffy biscuit served with honey butter and a peach preserve. Our server was extremely nice and very attentive. Although the restaurant was fairly busy she made sure our every need was taken care of :) I once again left the fork feeling full, and extremely satisfied.
