I'm totally new to this whole reef and marine aquarium stuff, so I went in with the expectation of being judged and down talked a little bit. But let me tell you, I wish I caught his name because the guy (I think the owner) was willing to tell me every single detail, answer every one of my stupid basic questions, and set me up with a beautiful blastomussa coral, and some turbo snails! He even gave me a little discount since it was my first time. The store was beautiful with amazing healthy fish, and I was blown away by their coral selection! A+! Thank you to all the staff and super helpful guy there! I'll be back! read more

If I could give more stars I would! This is the best place in the whole Coachella Valley. Everytime I get to the store I feel welcomed and open to be able to ask questions rather than in other places I'd feel like I'd have to know absolutely everything already. This post is so long over due. I'm in the process of buying my 2nd Red Sea from Lamont. I've been going to lighthouse aquatics since I moved here in late October. Just after thanksgiving Lamont and Tim installed my tank. Lamont's crew comes every other week to do cleaning and maintenance. Every time I go into the store Tim and Lamont are so so nice and very knowledgeable. I've never had an issue with them. Lamont was the person I started with and like I said at the beginning I am now having another tank installed in my new office space reception area. The tank speaks for itself and it's just so nice and calming to look at. Even my cat loves it. When Tim comes over an even the new guy they hired, they always enjoy and welcome my cat to come help. They pet her and move her around with the ladder. It's become their thing. Lol all in all 10/10 love these guys! read more

The new owner Lamont of the store was very rude, the only thing he said over the phone was "Nope nope nope, I don't have time for this". All I wanted to know was if you had some fish available. I will be taking my business else where, I really recommend Zen Aquatics where they treat there customers the right way. read more

I absolutely love this place. When I wanted to get into saltwater tanks, Lamont was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I didn't want a super big tank so he set me up with a 9 gallon bio cube. My fish are so happy and healthy. My two clowns are thriving. The store is always so clean. I appreciate that the owner knows all his customers by name and really connects with his customers. Every time I go back to the store to get water for my tank, It's a quick and easy experience. I always leave with a smile on my face. Definitely recommend, especially if you're a beginner!! read more

I was very impressed with this place. I went with my nephew because he was gonna get a fish. This place had lots to look at and the staff seemed to really know their stuff. Prices were fair and very reasonable. I noticed this place even does raffles so you can have a chance to win some beautiful tanks. After visiting this place it has me thinking about starting an aquarium. read more

Caveat emptor (let the buyer beware)!!!! Most of these other reviews are old with the prior owner. Wow how the tide has turned. I would give zero Stars if I could. Horrible 5 month long nightmaring experience. Good by and good riddance! read more

The owner Lamont threw a bucket across the parking lot at me missing me by inches. I filed a police report. When my Mom returned a fish that he sold her he acted super agresive. He's always making inapoprate sexual comment's to her. She hated that. I was her buffer but it didnt help much. I heard him several times saying things that made me cringe. He was taking care of her tanks badley I might add. He's fish always had some kind of illness. He sold her a Emperor Angel that eats corals knowing she had corals and it did est some of our corals! He was suposto take it out of our tank but a week later she had to take it in because he was not getting it out. THATS WHEN HE HEAVED THE BUCKET AT ME IN THE PARKING LOT. CRAZY RIGHT? We found a new place in Palm Desert to take care of our tanks. He's great and knows a lot about fish. Our fish and tanks are thriving now! read more

Love love love this store and their employees! It's always clean, has a great selection of fish (salt and freshwater), decors, medicinal treatments, food, and plants. I also cannot say enough nice things about Lamont. Hired him about a year ago to clean and take care of my 4 tanks. He does not disappoint ever! Anytime I have a question or concern, he always answers his phone to help. There has been numerous times where I have been concerned about my tanks and he has always made a trip over to check things out and fix the issues, FREE OF CHARGE! Lamont is super knowledgeable about the fish world and is one of the nicest guys I have ever met. If I could give this business a 10 star rating I would because that's what it deserves. Thank you Lamont for always taking such great care of my fish and tanks! read more

lighthouse aquatics is a great, welcoming and friendly LFS... they offer saltwater aquariums and accessories, have top notch customer service. They sell a great collection of corals, fish and are now expanding into sales of fresh water fish... if your in the market for a saltwater or fresh water aquarium then definitely check out Lighthouse Aquatics! read more

There was a tank labeled $20 dollar frag tank. After I picked two out, the owner told me one was going to actually be $30. I did enjoy the variety of coral (outside the $20 dollar frag tank.) In addition, I wasn't waited on, I had to track down the owner to pick out a coral. I was in a rush at the time, so this proved inconvenient. Another thing I did not enjoy was during check out. It seems the owner needs to type in each transaction on a computer. Takes awhile to buy anything. Just seems like complete outdated checkout technology. All in all, I would not recommend this store unless you don't mind the owner upping the price on products last minute, and prolonged check out times. read more

Lighthouse Aquatics is the BEST fish store you can go to! They have been servicing my tanks for 5 years now!! My tanks are looking amazing! I have been wanting a bigger tank and Lamont gave me a GREAT deal on a 200g tank!!! I STRONGLY recommend this place! read more

Worst service ever from lamonts part. His behavior and attitude really speak for him, and it is not good, worst fish place in the valley. Went in to get some fish for my aquarium, he seemed nice and all was fine we talked about fish where he said he does not warranty salt water fish. Take in mind I bought fresh water fish that did not even last a week before they died. I have fish from other places, even petsmart, that I have never had issues with, and now the ones purchased at his store suddenly died one right after the other. When I reached out to him, he was fine with giving credit, but then he refused on the more expensive fish. When I bought an angel fish he clearly said I just brought that one in from my personal tank and gave a price for it but now that it died he claimed that he had that fish for months at the store and was fine. He rudely said he gives no warranty and I reminded him he said he did just not on salt water but he said no fish store gives warranty which he is wrong every other fish store I have been to give you warranty. He rudely yelled in the phone, " Then you should just shop at those stores," and hung up. If you are looking for fish or fish accessories, do yourself a favor and avoid this place with its fish that probably won't make it, and it's overpriced accessories you are better off trying your chances at ordering online read more

We have several aquariums that Tim maintains on a regular basis both at my business and my home. He has always provided great serviceand has been always someone we could depend on. He even took care of a situation with a leak due to a manufacturer defect and came into the office early and on his own time to make sure that all the fish were ok until the manufacturer defect was taken care of. read more

Lighthouse Aquatics is your go to for all aquarium needs and service! They have a great selection of coral and live stock. Tim and Lamont are professionals willing give you the best advice possible and help you through the process. I've been going here for a few years now and have only gotten the best service. I want to comment about Eric's review as it's not accurate. Long story short, instead of asking the owner for a price of a coral that was set apart from the others that were clearly labeled $20. He decided to go all over social media networks and try to leave a negative review even though he agreed to pay the price. He could have easily asked the price, or even when he was told it was $30, could have passed. As for the outdated technology and "taking too long" to be assisted. This clearly isn't true, and it's evident by the other reviews everywhere else that this is a high quality establishment. No matter what, I advise everyone gives Lighthouse Aquatics a visit, it's worth stopping by, and you'll get the best knowledge possible, fish and unbelievable pieces of coral, guaranteed! read more

This is an excellent company. Tim is extremely knowledgeable and eager to help in making my experience with both corals and saltwater fish fantastic.
