I called Joe the Fish guy several months ago to clean my pond. He came to my residence after we had spoken on the phone and he not only cleaned my pond beyond my wildest expectations but he was very courteous and knowledgeable about the situation we had discussed. He built filters for my pond and now the pond runs incredibly well. I called him back again a few days ago and he returned my phone call immediately. He came over when he said he was going to and cleaned my filters for me and showed me how to handle the cleaning in the future. In todays world, an experience like this really makes you feel so much better about things. I would highly recommend Joe the Fish Guy to anyone who is looking for a fantastic business experience. Thanks Joe. Bill read more

Joe came to our rescue! We had paid a different contractor to build a pondless waterfall but found out they had no idea what they were doing. We called Joe in a panic and he came out immediately to help us out. Over each of the next few days, he came and taught our contractor what equipment to use and exactly how to build what we wanted. He even stopped by on a Sunday to personally place the rocks after I sent him a picture of how badly the other guys were doing. With Joe's outstanding service and expert advice and guidance, our water feature ended up being better than we imagined ... the showpiece of our new landscape! read more

I reached out to Joe for some help on a waterfall feature I was doing and whether or not he could help with the Project. Joe was upfront and said that he would not be the guy, but then spent 30 minutes of his time to go over my project and provide advice to make sure it would go well. He also recommended two companies that could do the pump set-up, etc. He is a first class person and just a genuine no BS guy. You can trust him. Thanks JOE !! read more

Wow! We recently moved to Rancho Mirage, CA and decided to add a koi pond to our back yard. We contacted a number of services. We met with Joe - and we liked him from the "get go". Our pond is approximately 14' by 11' with a three foot waterfall and spill way. WE LOVE IT! From start to finish was just over a week. From design to finish their people were orderly and respectful of our property. There is nothing "fishy" about their work! We are now ready to finish landscaping and selecting our fish. We are truly excited! Thank you Joe!!! read more

I saw Joe's truck in front of our neighbor's house and asked about him. The raves they gave him were experienced by us after he serviced our pond. Up until Joe's visit our pond had been badly serviced by another local company but Joe really turned it around! And he was very knowledgeable, friendly and reliable. Thanks again Joe! read more

Joe the Fish guy came out an an emergency call for me. He was so amazingly cool, calm and collected. Loaned a pump, provided information and thorough followup. He didn't charge for the "after hours" service call and just said we'd get square when all was said and done! Who does that? He is the quintessential service guy. Make that, "fish" guy. read more

My family has dealt with Joe for so long, we never thought to send a review. We have had Joe taking care of fish needs for over 20 years. He is the most trustworthy person we know. Joe is very dedicated to his work and customer satisfaction. He has a great sense of humor. I told him he leaves everything so clean when he is done that sometimes I can't tell he has been here, except for the clean glass on the tanks. Our grandkids love to see him when he is here and call him Joe the Fish Guy. If it weren't for Joe we would not have fish tanks with fish in them. Joe comes out to our place in Thermal to take care of our fish, and has never said it is too far like a lot of other service businesses have. We all love Joe!! read more

I have relied on Joe the Fish Guy for my annual pond maintenance since 2008. Actually I probably knew the owner, Joe, much longer because he used to work at his parents' aquarium store in Yucca Valley back in the days when I had a 40 gallon salt water tank. Joe is completely reliable and always shows up at my house in Joshua Tree with his helper and all the materials he thinks he needs to do the job when he says he will. Not only does his yearly clean out leave my pond looking awesome, but also Joe is an absolute wealth of information about fish and ponds and helpful new pond materials. I am completely satisfied with both the great job he does and the price he charges. I cannot recommend him highly enough. read more

After trying for years to find a way to keep my fish/turtle pond clear instead of a green mass of water, I found Joe the Fish guy. Words can't come close to expressing how amazing he is. It is now clear and beautiful. He planted water plants and added a filter that really has enhanced the beauty of the pond. He comes twice a month to maintain it for us. We couldn't be anymore pleased than we are!!! We highly recommend him to all pond owners here in the desert! read more

Wow! Mr. Joe the Fish Guy is the best! I had a small pond installed back in 2005. It was installed by Vicious Fishes out of Indio. It ran good for several years. I had to shut it down because of maintenance problems. Recently I had Joe the Fish Guy come and completely upgrade my pond. His recommendations were spot on and the pond has a new and beautiful look. The skimmer was upgraded as suggested. I'm very pleased with Joe and how he handles the pond arena. He is always available and calls every now and then to check up on things. He really cares about you, the client, and the pond he represents. He is a master at water conditions, algae growth, and how to manage it. Wow, the water is crystal clear. If you need any pond work done from conception to renovation please contact Joe the Fish Guy. You will be extremely satisfied. I can relax now to know there is a Joe the Fish Guy out there to help out with my pond worries. read more

I bought my house a year ago, and the koi pond that came with it had been badly neglected since it had been built seven years before by an inexperienced builder. I had been burned by two other pond service companies that I had called, so when I found Joe the Fish Guy on Yelp and read all the positive reviews, I called him. Joe came out the next day, surveyed my pond and pointed out a few problems with overgrown algae, construction and equipment that the other two companies hadn't even discovered or mentioned. He was there for over an hour, didn't make me feel rushed, listened to my concerns and what I had to say, and gave me some very good advice and recommendations. When he came back to do some work, he and his crew removed 25 POUNDS of dead and decaying plant material from the bottom of the pond. The other companies had quoted me as much as THREE TIMES MORE than Joe's charges, and their quotes didn't include as much work as Joe put into my koi pond. When I saw the pond that evening when I came home, my jaw dropped and I about fell out of my chair. The water was crystal clear, the rock waterfall had been redesigned for better flow, pond plants had been added, and you could actually SEE the bottom of the pond and I had VERY HAPPY FISH! Joe obviously knows his work, and when he spoke about how he started as a young boy in his father's aquarium shop, you could hear in his voice that he has a love and understanding for what he does. I asked him to give me monthly service and I trust Joe's work and suggestions completely; he treats my pond like it's his own, and I couldn't be happier with the way it looks, and he keeps in touch with you about the pond and the fish. Call him for whatever reason you might need him; he is by far one of the most dependable and knowledgeable service people I have ever dealt with. Now, when I go out onto my patio in the afternoon to sit and relax and feed the koi in my pond, I smile and say a silent "thank you" to Joe for being there when I really needed a professional. read more
