The last time I was there a few months ago I was telling the young lady when she had a check up that she had problems with her anal glands they need to be expressed every six weeks or she cannot go to the bathroom. They treated both me and Bello with the utmost care, empathy, and urgency. What truly sets VEG apart is how transparent and communicative they are. They went over all the financials with us upfront, making sure we knew exactly what treatments they were doing and how much it would cost, so there were no surprises. Because they are open 24/7, I loved that I could visit Bello any time, day or night. The medical team was always available to discuss his updates and status, which gave me so much comfort. Even after Bello was discharged, their incredible service didn't stop. They have been completely available by phone to answer all of my follow-up questions and concerns during his recovery at home. She made comments such as, "Since money is a concern for you," which felt insensitive and inappropriate, especially considering I had already agreed to a bill of approximately $1,500. What stood out most was that her focus seemed to be on payment rather than patient care. In an already stressful and emotional situation, I expected more compassion and empathy. Additionally, Dr. Horwitz loudly shouted across the hospital, "DID THEY PAY?" regarding a man leaving with birds. Everyone in the lobby turned to look at him. After a veterinary technician responded that he had paid, Dr. Horwitz simply laughed it off. I found this behavior unprofessional and embarrassing for the man involved. Overall, I would strongly recommend requesting a different veterinarian if possible. Pet owners deserve clear communication, compassion, and empathy, especially when facing a serious illness with their pet. Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. Horwitz lacked all three.

He first went for 7 nights when he was 4.5 months old and again for a 3 night refresher to reinforce existing skills and learn an important new command once he was more mentally mature at 7 months old. Kat took the time to really understand his lifestyle and shape his training goals with me ahead of both stays and both times we got back a happy, healthy and focused pup who loves to show off his tricks and manners! He was understandably a little nervous the first time we dropped him off but the second time he was thrilled to be back, which just shows how much fun he had there with her!! You can tell that Kat cares deeply about the dogs she works with and I'm so glad we found her out here in the desert. I highly recommend the customizable board and train service to provide structure, fundamentals and/or personalized learning (then you just need to stay consistent at home continuing to reinforce the new skills). What a relief it is to be gone a week on vacation returning home to a very content 18 year old cat…read more( that we always think is dying) and a year and a half old dog that acted like I just returned from the market. How fortunate to find Kat and her team who are professional, provided great communication, pictures and videos, and I had a worry free time away. From the moment my pets met Kat, she commanded instant respect. Kat has that magic that animal respond to. My dog Bella watched her like a hawk and did everything she asked when she said it.
