I'm honestly truly bummed with today's visit. I have no hard feelings, but I am disappointed with the fact that I had to pick up my Baby and seeing both ears dripping with blood. Yes, Jo was very apologetic and she did explain what happened. I truly understand mistakes happen, but nipping both ears just seems super careless. I couldn't bring myself to be, fuming mad because it wouldn't change anything and Jo has been a big help to me. Much needed after their original groom schedule was delayed due to a car accident, to which thankfully no one was seriously injured. Just to show how caring and amazing their employees are: Jo called immediately after that accident (when I had left a message to cancel as the accident happened the day of the appointment) to see if she could go and pick them up from me and care for them while I went to the hospital. I called to find out if they groom Golden Doodles.. long story short- the owner assured me that she did so i entrusted my one year old doodle in their care. When picking the dog up - she looked clean but when we got her home she had several matts that were not able to be brushed out. I then attempted to call the owner not once, but several times over the course of a week with no return call or care at all. Finally got a call back almost 2 weeks later asking me if we were cancelling our next appointment. Also explained again that I had a problem with the last visit and had been trying to call for 2 weeks but no return call.. and the excuse was she was short staffed... ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? Please don't waste your time taking your dog there- the owner has a million excuses as to why she cannot return a call or why her groomer left my dog matted. The last time my dogs got groomed at a different groomer, they didn't trim the nails and said Lucky was growling the whole time. The Pampered Pet treated my anxious dog with so much love and compassion that he didn't growl one time and they gave him an amazing bath and trimmed his nails! Unfortunately had a bad experience walking in to drop off my mom's dog today.. First time getting her professionally groomed, so we were all excited to get her in for her appointment. She's a long haired poodle mix.. as poodles, they are a breed that tends to get matted when their hair gets too long. So, she definitely needed help and it was suggested to shave her down.. which, was agreed upon and my mom had mentioned prior to making the appointment... When I dropped her off, owner Jo was shocked and asked me "what happened," at first I thought it was just a joke because of her long hair.. then she got serious & looked me dead in the face. "no really, Why....." I didn't really know what to say, it's my mom's dog... I was put on the spot in front of everyone in the store, & had to somehow explain on my mom's behalf why she hadn't gotten professionally groomed before. She's a busy teacher with a lot going on everyday. We had a personal groomer before and then he moved. Her dog is adopted, the vaccination cards got misplaced etc. she finally got an updated vaccination, and now we were there. I'm even over explaining here. She went on and held up some kind of dog hair she had laying on the ground from another poodle, and she held it up and said "See this? Yeah, your dog is gonna beat this by a long shot " looks like she keeps blankets of hair from other dogs...? Anyway, My family loves & spoils our doggies. The lady Jo was trying to make it seem like it was some kind of animal abuse or something and tried to make me feel guilty as if it was single handedly my fault or something..... I was just there to drop her off.. After I signed release papers, She later apologized and said "you know what, I'm sorry.. THANK YOU for bringing her here. We might be done by 5 (a few hours from then) MAYBE." my mother later went to pick her up, she told Jo how I was sad that she humiliated me.. Jo insulted her to her face & mentioned she thought about reporting to an animal place on us. If you're a dog owner, you know That feels just like if someone would threaten to call CPS on your own children. I understand an opinion, that is one thing, but loudly humiliating someone in front of the whole store? I was so shocked. And she kept going too when I was just walking out of the store.. I'm a business person myself... just shocked that a business person could publicly humiliate a client like that. It's really sad :( I love supporting other businesses, but this was extremely unprofessional, could have just refused working with us if thought it was so bad, instead of humiliating people. . Today 8/15, at 9am I took my small dog in for his usual hair cut. I hadn't heard back from them and it was already 1pm so I called. This is when things went so bad. The owner informed me that my dog had been cut while grooming and that she was going to take him to the vet. I was calm. I understand that accidents happen. I tell her to take him to my vet. She does. I get a call from my vet saying my dog has arrived. I immediately go over (I work down the street). I was told to have a seat when I arrived.. I noticed the groomer was still there. I heard her on the phone sounding irritated saying "yeah I'm still here, but my carts full, turns out I had to come to Petsmart anyway! Hahaha" I get called in and she follows. The vet walks into the room and the first thing he says is "well this isn't a fresh wound" I look at the groomer and she responds "yeah, it happened at TEN O'CLOCK THIS MORNING" I lost it. I asked why I wasn't called immediately? She said "We had the wrong number" I said but I've been there before. Why didn't you check your computer or something? She didn't know what to say. Turns out they cut a good sized chunk off his left armpit. The vet said that because they used some sort of powder for the bleeding the wound was crusted over and they really had no choice but to let it try to heal. He informed me that he may need surgery to cut the dry edges and stitch him up, and that he'll have extensive scar tissue. Bottom line is , they cut a good chunk of my dogs skin off while grooming him, powdered the wound to stop the bleeding, waited 3 hrs to inform us about his injury (note, I had to call them because they wrote down the wrong number), and now we have to wait a week to see if our dog will require surgery. We trusted this place just like anyone else would. But after this incident, I can guarantee we will not return!!!. All we want to do is give you dog owners a heads up. We truly do not want anyone else going through what we went through today. read more

Took my dog here twice. First time last summer and the second time yesterday. I came based on reviews and price. They did a good job the first time because I liked how they took care of my dog made her look nice which is why I returned the second time. However, the second time wasn't as great. I basically wanted the fur to be shaven around the body besides the tail. I asked them to shave the second to last of a full shave which is a 7 because I got a 10 the first time and it was really short. She was returned to me with her beautiful feathered tail also shaven off and nipped and bruised under her thigh. There was also no accessory like bandana or a bow like the first time. I was disappointed and an older lady working at a grooming station made it all worse. She made a rude and disrespectful comment as my dog was getting released to me which I couldn't clearly make out what she was trying to say but I saw her looking at my dog and said something that didn't have to be said. It was confusing at first and I didn't think too much of it but then it started to bother me because that wasn't good customer service. I don't want to discredit the stars because the first experience was good and the girl at the check in desk was friendly, but the second experience made me uncomfortable to bring my dog again. I originally called Barkingham Palace, but they never returned my call. Venus did. I told them I wanted a Bucket List massage and spa treatment for my 16 year-old pit bull. They informed me of the energizer treatment for seniors and arthritic cases. They were great about rescheduling me when there was a shift in my schedule. They let me go back into the bathing area to photograph the treatment for my dog's FB page. They trimmed her nails and used eucalyptus on her joints. They were gentle and the whole vibe was chill. The dogs were relaxed. We got a free bandana after her session. I did wonder if she, a dog, would enjoy a spa treatment as part of her bucket list, or if it was too human of an activity. I can tell you, at home, she is smiling a heck of a lot. She looks good and she feels good. read more
