Very nice mother and daughter team. My lulu looks good and they just raised their prices from 65 to 70. I used to pay 95 at my old shop . My old shop did a great job but I thought that price was too high because Poodles need grooming one month to two months depending on matting. This shop does take about 3 to 4 hours and my old shop was done in 1 to 1 1/2 hours because she does one dog at a time . I think I'll stick with Supermutts for now. read more

I took my dog to Supermutts on Friday. She came home with a nicked nipple that did not stop bleeding until Monday. When I called Sandy the owner, her response was "I'm sorry I didn't notice it". There is no way she couldn't have seen it. My dog cries at the least little thing. (Yes, she's a Diva!) Sandy never offered to make the situation right. Obviously, I will not be returning and I do NOT recommend this groomer. read more

We have an Aussiedoodle and have tried this place a few times and each time we didn't get what we wanted. We would explain exactly what we wanted and many times it was just ignored. They over trim his face & private bits (he would spend days licking himself afterwards cause it was too closely shaven). They poorly cut nails and leave them very sharp. The last time we went we asked them just for a bath and no cut or trim but when we picked up our dog they had cut his hair and taken a big chunk of hair from his neck line which still hasn't grown back in. I suspected they didn't want to brush out a knot and just cut it all off. They charged us nearly just as much as a full grooming too. They also lost our dog collar which had his first dog tag on and didn't offer any solution. Not sure how that happens, but that was the last straw for us. read more

I am so pleased to write this review of Supermutts after Vespa was treated with such care and understanding. It is difficult for an owner to have a wonderful dog who happens to be shy and scared. She is not a rescue and we have taken her many places since she was very young. At 10 months old, she is still afraid of most dogs as well as new people, places and situations. When we arrived at Supermutts for our first visit, and Sandy could see that our pup was not going to be easily led to the grooming area, she took time, patience and thoughtfulness with our dog. She sat on the floor and patted her and talked to her. She knew just what to do to eventually calm her nerves. I had told her that Vespa would need a kennel as she is scared. And though there was one available, she assured us that she would have Vespa stick by her and she would be okay. She said by the time we got back, Vespa, would be just fine. By the way all of the dogs there listened to her and obeyed, just with her calm voice and hand signals, we were impressed and trusted her. She was right. When we returned, Vespa was at ease. She was loose like the other dogs and never needed the kennel. I was so proud of her and so grateful to Sandy for really taking the extra time even though she had a busy shop. The whole reason we tried Supermutts is because the website said they take extra time with each animal. What a blessing to see it is true! Many places might do a nice bath and tidy, but Sandy went the extra mile to make us and our dog feel comfortable and welcome. On top of it, Vespa was clean, shiny and beautiful. Days later her fur is still soft and gorgeous. We will only ever go to Sandy and Supermutts! read more

I think I've found our groomer. On a whim we decided to let someone else bathe our dog, who had started to stink after a roll in some questionable stuff in the dog park. We'd had her bathed at one other place, and it was terrible--she came out wet & without her nails clipped despite their claims to the contrary ('oh, she stepped in a water dish on the way out'). After a quick check online, we found the Supermutts site. It was off El Paseo, where we planned to run errands, and the prices were reasonable. For much less than the cost of the first groomer, our dog came out smelling good and looking great. Things I liked: --Dogs run around free in the salon. Other groomers put them in cages before/after grooming. My dog got to walk around and play with other dogs until she was groomed and until we picked her up. Even though we picked her up right on time, we got a bonus 3 hours of doggie day care/play time for the dog. She played while we took care of errands. --My dog was happy. Previously, the dog busted out of the groomer's doors like she was escaping torture. At Supermutts, our pup was glad to see us be seemed to be having a great time before she saw us arrive. She was ready to go but seemed comfortable with the staff and other dogs. --She looked great. Her nails were trimmed, her coat was dry and smoothed (it looks like she has cowlicks allover when we bathe her at home). She doesn't require any fur trimming or special treatment like some breeds, but she still looked quite nice and tidy. --The cost was reasonable. There are online specials, but even without that it's cheaper than many other places. It's free (plus the cost of the soap) to do it ourselves, but when you factor in the fact that we get free dog care for a few hours, there's no crazy struggle with water all over the place in our apartment, and our dog looks much better, I don't mind paying the professionals once in a while. Oh, and the free holiday neckerchief was a sweet touch. read more

LOVE this place. My two toy breed Pomeranians have been coming to Supermutts for two years. They are the only groomers I trust my babies with. I've tried many other places in the area and no one compares. The owner and daughter are super sweet and talented. The dogs are not caged and get to roam free and hang out with the other pets. My poms always come out smelling terrific and looking great. Especially with poms since they have so much hair this can be difficult not to make their hair look boxy. Never the case here. We have been to a few other salons. No one has ever groomed him like Supermutts. Britttany is always consistent in grooming Guido. Guido is a toy poodle and he loves going to the salon. Brittany and her mom along with everyone there are really special people. We get a kick when we take Guido around a holiday. My little Shih Tsu mix is Nervous about everything. Super Mutts is the 3rd Groomer in the area I have tried and they are now our Groomer for life. If you go online they are offering a $5 off coupon for new Clients. A great bonus even though there prices are really reasonable, don't let the El Paseo address scare you off. LeAnne took our paperwork and ask about the cut we wanted. I put Floppy over the gate with the other dogs roaming free and I waited for a melt down. The melt down never happened so I slowly watched from the door a few seconds and headed home. 3 hrs later he was ready. When I arrived he was on the other side of the gatewith all the other dogs looking handsome with his new summer cut. Let's talk just the facts at the moment....the place is clean, they do a FANTASTIC job of grooming my Coton de Toulier and the people are really friendly. Now the important stuff. My dog is very comfortable being there. My dog doesn't usually do very well with other dogs, but at Supermutts she does just fine - I think she has a few friends there! It's important to me to take my dog some place where she isn't totally stressed out and shaking when I pick her up. Yesterday I brought my dog in for grooming Actually I had my husband bring her because I have to work and my husband had the time before he went back to New York. He asked them to just trim her and please do not touch her tail What did they do? they cut the tail to bits and they didn't trim her They completely shaved 1/2 of her stomach and did nothing to the rest of the dog They gave her a blow dry If they didn't have time to trim her why not call us and say so. Just ask me to come and pick the dog up. She spent five hours there waiting for a wash and a blow dry Her tail is completely ruined I know it will grow out but it will take several months And now I have to find time in my busy work schedule to have her groomed hopefully someplace else This place is too inconsistent in the quality of care they don't listen to the owners and sometimes I don't even think they use their brains read more

Simply amazing service and quality! Princess Zelda (who is in the front page picture) loves going here and comes home smelling and looking beautiful every time she leaves. The owner and her daughter Brittany (Auntie Brittany to Zelda) take such great care and are very accommodating to my busy schedule! EXCELLENT GROOMER!!!!!!! I took my 35lb Chocolate Labradoodle to Supermutts to get groomed. Not only are the staff very friendly, personable and professional, they are extremely talented. I immediately felt secure leaving my dog with them. They took the time to listen to my requirements and they followed through in every way - my dog looked awesome when I came to pick her up. The best thing about this groomer, is they do not cage the animals. After they finish grooming the dogs, they are allowed to play with the other dogs in a controlled environment until you are available to pick them up. One of the groomers even had her own dog there.
