Everywhere I go, people stop me, from little children to grown women (and men driving Tesla's), complimenting me on my little Yorkie, Maddie. My life changed one day in January 2017 when, after losing my husband, I went into Tonya's Pink Poodles, looking for a referral of someone who does responsible breeding for a small dog. To my surprise, Tonya opened a door and out rolled Maddie and her sister, playing and having the cutest little sparing match. (but not yapping). It was love at first sight. I continue to take Maddie to Tonya for her impeccable grooming (she really knows how to groom each doggie specifically for the breed (though she accommodates me in giving Maddie the puppy cut and not the prized long hair Yorkie groom. Honestly, I expected a lot more from this place due to their popularity on grooming for dog shows. They gave my shih tzu a bad haircut as if they hadn't tooken their time to even cut her hair. She has some spots where it looks as if they just chopped it off really bad, they left her patchy. Good thing this was just a one time thing because we were in town but I was charged $65 for something that I could've done myself when her usual groomer charges me just $35 with bath and cut and does a gorgeous job. I was just honestly dissapointed. Expected more for that price. read more

Having worked in the pet industry for over 25 years I'm extremely cautious and particular about who I trust with my dogs. I put Dustin and Tonya through an intensive interrogation before booking the first appointment. They patiently answered all of my questions and I felt certain my dogs were in expert hands. My instincts were validated when I came into the shop and saw the many awards won by Tonya for competition grooming. There are 30,000 groomers in the US so winning even one competition is an incredible feat. I'm not sure if the people of CV are aware of the skill level of Tonya and her staff at this shop. I bring my 2 toy poodle princesses to Tonyas every 5 to 6 weeks. They do a wonderful grooming job and our girls come home feeling and looking lovely. I have used other groomers before and all I ask is if you cut them please let me know! I know they aren't the best clients and do not let me brush them. Once I tried a mobile groomer thinking it would be less stressful for my girls, she cut one so bad and didn't tell me. I noticed on day 2 and Paid $100 to the vet, the groomer said she would reimburse me But every time I called to get her address I went in to voice mail.. I haven't heard from her since. Tonyas is great and knows what she is doing. read more

I was referred to Tonya's by a friend. Although I paid a different price than what I was quoted over the phone, I am very happy with the outcome. Rambo loved his first grooming session! I was a little worried being that Rambo is a very hyper dog. Felicita really took care of him. He came home and napped for hours. He must of been really relaxed. We will be back. read more

I was very disappointed with this place. I had a bad feeling with this place the minute I walked in since it smelled like something was decomposing in there. Since I was in urgent need to groom my dog that day I sadly left him there, but was not satisfied. When I picked him up it did not seem like he had nothing done. Eek - really, so many positive reviews - not my experience. So disappointed after reading the reviews. The shop (once you are able to get there) is cluttered, dirty and dingy. One reviewer said that the shop smelled and I agree -- I know, it is for dogs, however, does it need to have a funny smell? The grooming area is not viewable and I assume it is like the front of the shop. The grooming was so-so - my male poodle's head was cut in a unevenly and the coat was raggedy. I did like the tie scarf, cute holiday pattern. The shop has a cute name, just wish my experience was positive. I took my little Bailey here last year... Felt horrible leaving her there, nearly turned around and picked her up before I got home. The place smelled awful, it was not wait I would call clean -- there were puppies in a gated area... like for sale. I felt like it was a puppy mill. After several hours I was called to pick her up and was told that in the future she would be over $100 to groom because she was so difficult -- she's an 8 pound Shih Tzu, that is granted a "special needs" pup when it comes to grooming, but I have never been told that before. The woman and the younger guy were extremely rude. I will never take my dog there again, nor would I ever suggest someone else take their pet there. read more

Dominque did a really cute grooming job on my dog, Angus. I could not see into the grooming/bathing area because of the way the store is set up. However, I thought the place didn't smell clean. While I expect it to smell "doggie", they definitely need better ventilation. The store is very cluttered with doggie paraphernalia, figurines, stuffed animals, etc....., mades it look junky. The thing I really didn't like was the small pens on the floor with "puppies for sale". Is this a grooming salon or a pet store? I probably would not go back. read more

We started taking BooBoo to Tonya's after not being fully satisfied with 2 other groomers in the area, 1 in La Quinta, the other in Palm Desert. Dustin manages the front desk well, he's always polite and cordial. I've had both Tonya and Dominique groom my baby and she's always come out more beautiful than she went in! The store is a little cluttered and dusty, but if you're looking for the "El Paseo" experience, you will pay El Paseo prices. TPP is a little quirky, but they're 1) in the neighborhood, 2) do excellent work for reasonable prices, and 3) always pleasant and accommodating, even when I call at the last minute. read more

I can't say I've ever been to her shop but I did work with Tanya and Dustin almost 13 years ago and I can say she loves her job and her dogs. She always did a great job on the dogs. Dustin was an awesome bather and I loved working with him. I'm glad she is still in the desert and successful. read more

Very disappointed with this shop. Besides holding my breath due to the smell. And usually seeing poor puppies being in tight quarters behind sold at the shop. Just not impressed with the service for $65. And had to pay in cash or check. I'll take my business else where. To think charging me $65 dollars , please this shop is not on El Paseo. read more
