My reef tank was in an emergency state because of a free-floating algae bloom. Nothing I did seemed to help for more than a few days before the algae came back with vengeance. To make matters worse, I knew I had a 9 day vacation out of the country soon. I could see nothing but green, and I knew that if I didn't act quickly... soon the green wrath would take the lives of my fish. After researching the best I could, I decided to contact Authentic Aquariums. A reply soon followed, including a phone-call to get a better idea of my aquarium emergency. After diagnostics via photographs and lighting schedules, I was given hope; Daniel gave me my options, which even humbly included fixes I could do on my own. I was given a very fair estimated cost, and after generously being fit into a busy schedule, I had my first visit. My tank was cleaned from the inside out, and my water was changed to stabilize my tank. After some professional tips, I was given the green-light to go on vacation and be at ease with my tank's health. After returning from vacation, Daniel and Butch carefully setup a UV sterilizer to defeat the green, once and for all. read more

I am SO happy with my new tank! I was ready to swap out a 20 year-old fish tank and had a vision of an Amazon River planted tank. I reached out to Daniel, he was very responsive, and I sent photos of my inspiration, and described the type of tank I wanted, the size, along with my budget. Daniel kindly let me know that what I was asking for was not going to be within my budget , and I was ready to throw in the towel. A few days later, Daniel reached out and let me know he was able to come up with a solution that would fit my budget! Everything came together quickly, and I could not be more pleased . The follow up has been amazing as well, I highly recommend Authentic Aquariums! read more

I can't say enough good things about this company. I was dealing with a leak in my reef tank and reached out expecting I'd need a service call, but instead Daniel took the time to walk me through multiple options over the phone and through messages. He was patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely wanted to help me solve the problem . As someone who's fairly hands-on with my reef tank, that meant a lot. Even though they didn't come out, they absolutely earned my trust and future business. Highly recommend them to anyone in the reefing hobby. read more

Daniel and Jarrell have been amazing to work with! they were very quick to respond to our inquiry and get us on their schedule, and very professional to communicate with. Our 250 gallon salt water tank looks so much happier after they helped us get some new decorations, and helped us clean up the water so it's finally crystal clear for the first time in months. We have gotten a couple of fish from them and planning on getting many more! read more

Daniel was fantastic to work with. Always a stressful time moving a well established salt water reef tank but he mad everything extremely easy. He was very responsive and organized. Everything that I was told would happen, happened. He took great care of the entire process and put any concerns to ease. Very good value and reasonable regards to pricing. Will absolutely use him again if/when the need comes. He also cleaned the tank, changed our filter socks to make everything look perfect. Had no idea he serviced tanks in addition to helping with transport. Overall an amazing experience. read more

Called in today for an emergency pond cleaning service (that was desperately needed since the koi's were in distress and not breathing well, also it honestly smelled like a sewer) and talked to Daniel. He was very responsive and got someone out within a couple hours to clean the pond. The pond cleaning was done by James and he did a fantastic job, he tested the water, made sure it was at a good pH, cleaned out the algae buildup, cut some of the wilted plants that were placed in the pond, and replaced the water. The koi's were sooo much happier after the clean, they were actually swimming instead of just pawing at the surface of the water. And I felt so much better knowing the koi's were going to be ok. Amazing service, definitely recommending them to anyone who has fish-y needs. read more

I contacted this company after I had a bad experience with another company. The other company confirmed an appointment and stated he would come towards the end of the day. I rushed home to make sure I was available but come 9pm, he never shows up. What a waste of time! I then called around the next day and stumbled on reviews for Authentic Aquariums and decided to call. I spoke with Daniel and I liked him right away. He was professional and responded to text messages promptly. I even asked for advice about a fish possibly having parasites and he gave me some solutions. On the day of the appointment, he arrived during the time frame he promised. He was friendly and did a wonderful job on my 55 gallon aquarium. I haven't seen it this clean in years! I will definitely be using Daniel going forward. It is hard to find people who are reliable and trustworthy these days. Thank you so much! read more

Daniel came to our house to relocate our 125 mainly coral tank to our garage due to a slab leak in our home. He spent the entire day at our house carefully placing each coral and fish in separate buckets before moving it all safely to our garage. He brought a huge blower to accommodate the higher temp in the garage as well. I can't tell you how relieved my husband was to see this process and at the end of the day our tank looked so good and all the fish, high end coral and everything else alive in there seem to be doing fantastic. Highly highly recommend him and his staff!!!! read more

As part of a house move I hired Daniel & his team to move my 150gallon saltwater reef tank complete with live rock, coral, a dozen fish + 30 gallon sump. Overall they did an outstanding job. Prior to the move Daniel visited explained the process and provided a very reasonable quote. On the day of the move they arrived on time, took great care with the tank breakdown, moved everything to the new location and reset everything back up. Great care was taken with rock and coral placement to retain some essential features of the original display but also gave the tank a great new look. Issues with the bulkheads meant they needed to spend extra time to resolve and also required a follow visit all of which was accomplished in a very professional manner. Overall I am extremely satisfied with Daniel and his team. read more

I'm fairly new to the aquatic hobby and am glad I seeked professional help! Daniel was very helpful in my battle against the dreaded dino algea bloom I had in my 90 gal reef tank. He came over my house, showed me some algae references that helped me understand my algae problem while he began maually removing as much algae as he could along with a water change to get the water chemistry back on track. Using what I learned from him and reading up on his recommended links, my tank now looks great and I now have sarted placing corals on the live rock once again with confidence they will thrive :) Thanks Daniel !!! read more
