It's worth the drive from Temecula to see this coral Mecca! They have it all and then some. I placed an order online and decided to drive and see the shop! Marco gave me a tour and of course I purchased another item. We've been using aqua SD for the last 2 years and they never disappoint their customer service, advice and quality of corals are always spot on! I've never had an issue with any of my past purchases! Keep reefing and enjoy the hobby! read more

Aqua SD - Reef tank - Local Fish Stores Near Me - San Diego, California

Quality of this place has absolutely plummeted. Fish quality is bad and corals overpriced. Went the other day and there was nobody there and doors locked even though it said it was open online read more

Won bids for coral on their online auctions and went in store to receive them. Employees did not double check which corals were which and upon opening at home found out they are all incorrect and none were what was won on auction (it was 6 corals). Also purchased a royal gramma same day and it died. The quality of fish, coral, and staff from the store are below Petco quality. The fish had clear signs of malnutrition. Will not be coming here again and will be telling others about my experience read more

I have placed many orders with AquaSD and have seen their customer service decline. I placed an order in May and have my shipment didn't make it out, they sent a few frags and didn't send me the rest after they had informed me that they would hold the shipment till I picked replacement. They replaced the corals I did t get and shipped for free. I placed another order in August and asked for a delivery date on Friday, I received an email that they were very busy and didnt have my shipment ready for Wednesday delivery. It was weird but I contacted them and they sent it for delivery on Thursday. Order gets here it's missing one of the nice corals I was hoping for. I contacted then and after a few days without a response they took responsibility for the missing pieces but would not ship it to me even though they forgot to send it. I'm waiting on a refund as I don't want store credit as I will not purchase from them again till their service improves. read more

Man you have no clue the horror I've had to deal with. We agreed for Friday delivery. They admit they made the mistake with delivery on Thursday. Most corals dead or dying for being out in the Florida heat all day. They are vague whenever they respond days later with excuses. Corals look like crap. I have receipts as proof of the communication and their unprofessionalism. I would avoid this vendor like the plague read more

Avoid this place. I spent thousands of dollars with SD Aqua and regret ever doing business with them. It started when I purchased premium-priced live rock from SD Aqua. Within days of adding it to my tank, the entire system began crashing. The rock appeared to be in terrible condition, my sand bed turned black, and the tank was effectively ruined. As someone relatively new to the hobby, I relied on SD Aqua's expertise and guidance. Instead, I was left dealing with a disaster. To address the problem, SD Aqua referred me to a person named Andrew to help fix the tank. Unfortunately, the situation only got worse. The work performed created additional plumbing problems that later had to be corrected. We relied on the recommendations of people who presented themselves as experts, and that trust turned out to be a costly mistake. While the tank was being repaired, we entrusted our fish to SD Aqua for temporary holding. Several fish died while in their care. The remaining fish were returned in poor condition and soon showed signs of disease. Over the following weeks, we watched fish die one after another despite significant effort and expense trying to save them. Anyone who keeps saltwater fish understands how devastating it is to watch animals slowly decline and die after investing so much time, money, and care into them. What makes the entire experience even more frustrating is the complete lack of accountability. We were left with a destroyed tank, dead fish, damaged plumbing, and thousands of dollars in losses. One additional concern was the business practices we encountered afterward. When I later tried to obtain copies of receipts for purchases and services, SD Aqua was unable to provide complete records. Many of our transactions had been made through Zelle because we were repeatedly told the credit card system was unavailable. As a customer who spent a substantial amount of money with the business, I found it troubling that obtaining basic documentation of purchases was so difficult. At a minimum, it reflected a level of disorganization and poor recordkeeping that was consistent with the rest of our experience. The owner, Diego, was ultimately responsible for our account, and Andrew was the individual recommended to work on our system. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution anyone--especially those new to the hobby--against relying on this store for fish, water, rock, advice, tank services, or system design. There are too many reputable aquarium stores in Southern California to risk going through what we did. My experience with SD Aqua was expensive, frustrating, and ultimately devastating to the aquarium we worked so hard to build. read more

I ordered an Alien Tube Anemone on December 27th. Aqua SD never shipped the anemone. They finally refunded me 44% of what I paid 30 days later, on January 27th. Yes, they kept 56% of my money and never even attempted to ship anything. No tracking number, nothing. They literally took an order and stole 56% of my money. Beware if you order online from them. In response to Aqua SD. Look at the invoice. I paid $19.99 for the shipping. I paid for shipping. read more

Aqua SD - Local Fish Stores Near Me - San Diego, California

Really nice corals. Terrible service. They have a 20% restocking fee. They charge for shipping, but they WILL NOT SHIP until you buy at least $100 of items. Why is that? Well....you figure that out. Be careful. Think twice. They do NOT answer emails either. read more

I placed several orders in December and beginning of January. I have not received any one of them. They don't answer the phone or respond to emails. I even had PayPal investigate the case. They told paypal I received the items I did not receive any item. Don't shop with these people. This is a 100% rip off. I'm working to get my money back . My order status clearly doesn't show that it shipped. I will let the public know more about the outcome read more

Aqua SD - picture of receipt showing nothing was shipped - Local Fish Stores Near Me - San Diego, California

This place is amazing and the customer service is awesome! Darin helped me over the phone as I won 20+ auctions on eBay, and was there in the store win I picked up. Jessie was also very helpful as he walked me around the store retrieving all the corals I had won. Zach was also very helpful from the front of the store who helped me check out. The multiple times I called and emailed the store, everyone was equally customer service-oriented to make sure I had the best experience possible. Highly recommend to visit this store and their auctions online. Thank you all !!! read more

My wife and I won some coral on an auction site through aqua sd. Exchanged a few emails AFTER I paid them and then nothing. Still don't have the coral and can't get an answer about anything. Called, left messages and emailed. No the site is not a scam as plenty of people order from there all the time. read more

I wanted to update my review regarding AquaSD. I waited until today, Monday, June 24th, to write this review to give AquaSD a chance to reach out to me. However, despite sending them a few follow-up emails, it's been 5 days and I have not received any response. A little background: When I visited the AquaSD store about a month ago, their customer service was outstanding. However, their online and phone services could definitely use some improvement, as it seems to be nonexistent. During my in store visit a month ago, I came across a Wilsoni that I really liked, but the price was a bit steep for me, so I left it behind. When AquaSD had their "After Party" sale about two weeks ago, I seized the opportunity and purchased the exact Wilsoni I saw and wanted! (Q14) However, the day before my scheduled shipping date, Wednesday, AquaSD called me to inform that the Wilsoni was not in the best condition and they did not want to ship it out due the health of the coral. To much of my sadness, while on the phone with AquaSD, they offered me a replacement Wilsoni, and even sent me a link via email of the replacement Wilsoni's photo (Q61). After seeing the photo, I agreed to the replacement Wilsoni, and reconfirm with the staff if this will be the Wilsoni I will be receiving, and they agreed. Disappointingly on the shipping date, Thursday, June 20th, the Wilsoni I received was not the replacement that was promised. I got neither the Wilsoni I wanted, nor did I get the replacement promised, what I received was the Orange Wilsoni shown in the photo. As you can see the color and patterns do not match. I promptly reached out to AquaSD via email and phone but to no avail. Their voicemail is not set up, so I could not leave them a message. I even followed up on Friday, Saturday and Sunday resulted in no response. It is now Monday, and I am still waiting for a resolution from AquaSD. I really want this error to be corrected, but based on their lack of response, it seems unlikely that I will receive any help. read more

I want to start off by saying I almost never review anything, every time I get a shipment from them I have to share how good it is. it doesn't get better than them. Trust me. They have changed reef keeping for me and are one of the reasons I continue to get excite. I just hope they never change. 100/10 recommend. The photos given are my experiment of the 6 gal aqua sd reef tank. Just there corals. it's the best tank ive ever had and the healthiest corals. Have yet to loose one. I leave a review every time I get corals. will continue to update. read more

I have made many orders at aquasd, and many of those orders were nothing short of amazing. But my past few orders were fumbled hard. From wrong pieces being sent, missing items, items being shipped when they weren't supposed to be shipped. But this last order was shockingly horrendous. They actually sent me dead pieces that are covered in algae and Aiptasia. I can't believe someone inspected these pieces, took them out of the tank, bagged them, and shipped them. This vendor seems to be a hit or miss. There are overwhelming negative reviews on this place. Do your research and order at your own risk. read more

Aqua SD - Straight dead pieces - Local Fish Stores Near Me - San Diego, California

This shop is not somewhere you want to do business with. Management has no clue what they're doing and it reflects in the employee. No one here cares about the customers. I purchased items off eBay from them and always run into trouble. The last time I scheduled a pickup 2 hrs ahead and when I went to pick up nothing was ready. The employee brushed it off and blamed someone else and had no customer service. This time around I scheduled a pickup 30 mins ahead and when I got there they told me the coral was not in stock. Why couldn't you give me a call to let me know so I wouldn't waste my time. Again it was the same employee. Everyone here from management to employees need to wake up! They recently purchased this business but will not make it if this continues! read more

These guys are awesome! They have one of the biggest coral selections I have seen. They answered all of my questions and didn't hesitate to ask if I needed help as soon as I walked in the doors. I also didn't have to spend a ton to get quality corals. Thanks guys! I will definitely be back! :-) read more

This has quickly become one of the worst businesses I can think of and they are trying to scam us- their long time loyal customers. Me and my fiance have been purchasing from them for years and we have known and trusted them from their Convoy location to now Miramar. We purchased two coral a week ago for local pickup as we moved out of SD and then we were coming into town to pick them up. They know we do local pickup all the time and we also didn't purchase the shipping module. Guess what, they sent the coral to my billing address (where there is no fish tank and we no longer live) without contacting us, calling, or emailing. We have been calling them ten+ times a day for the last few days and they don't pick up. The two times they picked up they said well look into it and call you back and they NEVER do. Our coral are likely dead now and nowhere near us, and they owe me $200! We have tried to call, email, leave messages (mailbox is full) and they're just ghosting us. They also have a customer service line that never picks up or lets you leave a message. Worst of all they have just lied to me every time on the phone and say we'll get back to you as soon as we can- and then have ghosted me for DAYS now. Do not purchase from them - you will be SCAMMED! read more

I enjoyed my time here today, it was an easy shopping experience and great customer service from Zach!

Beware!! Aqua SD is one of those companies that really support their customer, until there is a problem. I ordered $700 worth of corals and one coral was packaged poorly and rubbed on a piece of plastic they put in the bag to keep the coral from shifting; Who knows why, but the coral started falling apart overnight, after their two hour window. Another coral didn't even make to shipping because they sold me a coral that they didn't even have. Very unprofessional. and on top of that they ask me what they could provide as a replacement and they sent me something completely different! WTF? A third coral was sent to me incorrectly. I ordered a bright red pink and white Trachy and they sent me one that was all brown with a couple orange stripes on it. Bait and switch? After a month of them dicking me around and having me send 20 different pictures and stand on one leg... they finally ask me what would make me happy. I asked for a refund to my credit card for the 3 corals. They completely ignored me for two weeks, until I filled out a review on google. Then someone reach out and asked me again how to make it right so I replied. It's been a week now and NOTHING! Don't fall for their scam. Please, please try Corals.com. By far the best place to order. They know how to treat a customer. Constant communication and support. Not this fake place that provides subpar Corals just to make a buck. They ask you questions to make you feel like they actually care and then completely ignore you. What a horrible place to do business. See the pretty red coral below? That's what I ordered. See the ugly brown one? That's what they sent me. Bait and Switch? I think so! Lenny read more

Aqua SD - Nano tank - Local Fish Stores Near Me - San Diego, California

Horrible customer service. Avoid this business both online and in store. Pictures are not representative of the pieces you will get. Their policies are tailored towards protecting the store alone. They use practices to secure future orders (such as telling you a frag isn't available and that they will include it in your next order). The cycle repeats itself over and over. Use other local coral suppliers or choose other online stores. Avoid this place at all costs. read more
