I'm in disbelief.... I have a pre-drilled 75 Gal aquarium tank and was in a bit of a bind with my API Filstar XP canister filter which had a bad impeller and the water flow was poor. While looking for a replacement part, I found out that this filter was discontinued and replacement parts are scarce to non-existent.  I purchased a Fluval Canister filter but found out that it was not compatible with the existing plumbing.  Facing the propects of having to do a replumb, and not knowing where to start, and what parts I would need, I decided to google search for companies that could perform this service.   I called MK Aquarium and Kevin answered.  He took the time to understand my issue.  What I really appreciated about Kevin is that he decided that I could save money by doing the work myself AND he would be willing to walk me through how to do it.  Candidly, I was shocked and touched by this act of kindness from a business owner. Kevin was on the phone with me, answered all my messages and I was able to get it done.  My tank is up and running with no issues so far. Below is my rant about MK Aquarium STORE for anybody else looking for them. ‼FAKE FAKE FAKE‼ Moss balls are not real Marimo, they're made of green felt! The green fiber is wrapped around again and again with no "hairs" like the real moss balls. Java moss is fake too. Upon using a magnifying glass, it's a green string manufactured to look like moss. I've left out on the counter and it is now fluffy and still green with not one flaw in sight. It's manufactured, then dipped in aquarium water to make it smell legit. Marimo mossballs are never that perfectly round and compact. They are the only ones in my Marimo tank that are not moving around in the currents. The store wanted a video (i sent them pics cuz who needs a video with me cursing in the background ) and then made me cut up the 3 mossballs to show them they were fake. Then instead of refunding, they didn't respond and then blocked me after my 3rd email. Very dishonest and using fake company names to make it impossible to track or report to BBB. I have a Marimo moss ball tank and also a planted tank and very familiar with the moss. They tried to tell me that very few people say it's fake, well that's because they don't know or they can't find you!!! People don't complain because they usually have little nano tanks and think their tiny fake mossballs are "alive". Don't buy, very irritated by their blatant misrepresentation and rude customer service. They're dragging this business' ratings down because the names are so similar--i'm sure that was no coincidence. My bank was very kind and issued a credit. Hope these guys get visited by the big ol' karma mossball. read more

Kevin is really helpful, my fish savior. This morning, I noticed that the aquarium water smells bad and the full tank of gold fish barely moving around. So I yelped and found MK aquarium service hoping to get a cleaning service. Kevin answered call right away and asked me sending some pictures to him. He then said if there is something he can help me over the phone, no need to pay for his service. So I sent him some aquarium pictures with foams and dirty water. He could have suggested that I contact someone else but he didn't, he instead took it upon himself to help me and connected with a colleague for reference.
