Because of the name of the store, I wasn't expecting much, but decided to look for a chandelier there anyway. Boy was I surprised! The selection was gorgeous and pricing was extremely fair. We asked for a different fitting and was told they could do it and have it for us within 2 days including the customization. They performed 100% and on time. The product looks fabulous in my dining room and we couldn't be happier. This company is now our "go to" lighting place, they have everything you could ask for. read more

Nice selection, but I can't say much for the customer service. A nice woman helped me once and was helpful and sent me quotes via email, but would not respond to my emails. An older man once seemed extremely annoyed by my question. A substantially younger man was very unenthusiastic and about helping me last weekend, which was the last straw. So we went into this place not knowing what time they closed.... the doors were open and plenty of people were in the store. We walked around for 10-15 min looking at lights.... nobody came up and asked if we needed any help.... so then we go up to where everyone is and asked if we could get some help. The lady behind the counter said we are closed but we can help you if your ready to buy. I said we have a couple questions first and then she said sorry we can't help you now... only if your ready to buy. I then told them that this was horrible service and I won't buy anything from them.... then walked out. We were remodeling our house and looking for lights for the bathroom. I did some research and tried to understand LED lights. First of all, you barely get acknowledged when you walk in. And although there is a large variety, it would be nice to have someone help you. When we finally got someone to help, he did give us information in a very 'condescending' way. I admit I didn't now much re LED lights, color etc but then again, isn't this what the salespeople are for? The only reason we ended buying anything was because I didn't find another light I wanted. I would avoid this place unless absolutely necessary or if you feel like having someone make you feel stupid while taking your money. read more

Piss poor customer service. Associate was very short and rude. Actually hung up on me mid conversation. If you want lights or light bulbs, find what you want online and just walk in and demand it. Don't get help from anyone at this store, because you probably will get a bunch of attitude. read more

If you have children, never ever bring them with you to this store. They have the worst employee and customer service. 15 minutes without customer service and They hang the light so low that my 3 year old daughter can touch it then telling her not to touch or leave the store, no "do not touch " sign in store too. Just stopped by to purchase a replacement bulb for a LED recessed light that went out. I brought the bulb with me and grabbed four replacements to have some as extra. Got to the checkout and was told by the associate that the bulb I had should not have burned out. She tested it for me and confirmed. Told me that the bulbs will last many years and has a warranty. Swapped mine out with a working bulb and saved me about $40. They could have easily not said anything and made some extra money. This was a very pleasant experience and I thought I would share it. read more

I walked in to look at buying lights for my home as we are remodeling everything and needed lights for every room indoors and out as we are starting the buildout in 3 weeks. I asked if there was a bathroom and so I went to use it. I knocked gently on the door to see if anyone answered and they didn't so I tried to open the door so as not to walk in on anyone. I waited 10 minutes at least walked around and came back to see if it was available. I waited again. An employee came out yelling at me at how rude I was for trying to open the door. It was shocking the way she spoke to me. When I ran into her in the store, discovering she worked there, I told her the way she spoke to me was unacceptable. She proceeded to yell at me why two employees just stared in disbelief and said nothing. I asked to speak with the manager and he said she always complains about people trying to open the bathroom door. What?? Is that acceptable? I just couldn't shop there anymore after the Manager seemed to think this was acceptable behavior. It's a shame because they have beautiful products. read more

I don't know where to begin. What they did for us is unheard of. We purchased a light fixture in Los Angeles about a year ago. It broke shortly after we had it installed. We called the store we purchased it from and they called the manufacturer. They would do nothing for us. I was so angry because it was over $700.00. They did tell us that we could purchase a part that might work. The part was $80.00 and did not work. My husband was in Light Bulbs Etc a couple of weeks ago for some light bulbs and was talking to a salesman. He did not realize it was one of the owners. He told him what happened to us with our expensive chandelier and he actually offered to call the manufacturer and see if they would do anything for us since he purchases many light fixtures from this company. Would you believe the owner called us up and told us they delivered a new chandelier just come and pick it up. I was in shock. I will only purchase from them now that I have seen what they will do. I must tell you that their selection of lights is incredible. If your looking for something special you will find it their. I was also directed here by an employee of Home Depot after wasting too much time there, getting no answers, or locating the right products. I have since purchased all the overhead lighting and ceiling fans from Lightstyles of Costa Mesa for my home. I advise asking for Glen as he is very knowledgeable. I did not use their "in-home" design service, just sketched out my rooms and then worked with Glen to select the right product. I am heading there today to select lighting for my next home project. read more

One of the most unprofessional companies that I have ever dealt with. If you have to order a light that is not in stock, which is pretty much 95% of the lights available, look out. We had bought at this store before and found that they had a nice selection, especially of more contemporary items. Having checked out a number of other stores and finding nothing to our liking, we ended up at Light Bulbs Etc again. We didn't get the names of the sales associates who helped us (one with red hair and the other with longer, auburn hair), but both of them were very helpful and, after being told how to hook up the lights of our choice, we were homeward bound. When the contractor tried to install the lights, however, they didn't work properly. To make a long story shorter, we took the lamps and accompanying parts back; they exchanged the bad parts for good parts and made sure everything was good to go, and we now have a couple of perfectly functioning and very attractive lights over our counter. Aside from the fact that we had to make another trip, store personnel, notably Mark, could not have been more helpful. Great customer service; nice lights. read more
