He quoted 2-5 days for diagnostic and repair. in less than 24 hours, he called to let me know my lamp was ready for pick up. This store is a true gem. I was Blown away with a mocked up front yard and house they have inside the store to show you ideas on how bright you want your kitchen. I emailed pictures of my kitchen and master bathroom. Dave printed out the pictures and showed me what I can do. Dave was really helpful with designing my kitchen and master bathroom. They are not trustworthy and they do not stand behind their product. They constantly give you lip service of fixing your issue, yet never attend to it until you give up. They came to my house to install over 100 LED light bulbs.. They assured us these were the best lights on the market so I followed their recommendation. Over the following year, we had many issues with these lights such as them flickering at random intervals with some even having a strobe effect. We complained and were assured the bulbs were fine. We come to realize that they have in fact had many issues with these lights not just at our house, but other customers have been having issues with these LED bulbs as well. This process went on for over a year. After it was confirmed that these LED lights they sold and installed for us are in fact faulty, they assured us that they would change and replace the lights under warranty. However, they dragged their feet and didn't issue this replacement until 6 months later. Mind you, we had already been complaining for over a year, and then it took another 6 months for the replacement. While here installing the replacements, they damaged the paint on the ceilings - and never took responsibility! Not only did they cause damages, they walked away before finishing the job! They left 20% of the old lights in, not replacing them with the new lights as promised. Not only was this a massive headache, they didn't even finish the job. Eventually we had to hire another contractor to finish the job. I will never go to Allied Lighting again. read more

My wife and I came in looking for lighting for our new kitchen/bathroom, both Rob and David the two owners spent time with us and helped us pick the right set of lights. They're amazing one-of-a-kind show room enabled us to picture what the lights would look like in our house. When I visit friends houses who have Home Depot lights I know for a fact it was worth every penny to go with Allied. Plus don't we all want to support local small businesses. I highly recommend Allied Lighting and even tell my friends up in LA about it. On a sidenote they're very kid friendly there. We had to bring our children after school so we could pick lights and they were nice enough to give us an office space, plus they brought out crayons for them to play with. read more

Robert at Allied Lamps is truly amazing. Our truck blew a hose while we were towing our camper trailer. He allowed is to block all of his parking while the repairs were made. Not only was he gracious he offered us to come into hte store with our 5month old twins to keep them warm while they fixed the truck. Who can even find a lighting store anymore? It's like my choices are Home Depot and the internet, and neither are places where I am confident of the quality of the information I receive. I needed to replace fixtures on one of those Halogen tracks and I had no idea that each track has unique fittings. The gentlemen lent me a store fixture to try at home. It worked. I ordered two similar. I mean, check out that service. They educated me, trusted me to take a fixture home, ordered new ones for me. Funny, its a pretty humble looking place with incredible service. I have been shopping here since I was a Interior Design student over 20 years ago. As one of the few lighting stores left in Orange County, it has become a place I have frequented more often. Their showroom is small but don't be fooled. I am impressed with their knowledge and availability of new lighting technologies. Ask to wander through their light lab which showcases some of the products from Lutron for home automation. And if you need unusual lightbulbs, this is the place. read more

This is the best lighting store ever! I have not learned as much in 2 hours as I did with Rob the day we went to the "light lab". We used Allied for all our lighting in our condo remodel this winter and the service, selection, and attention to detail are just amazing. Rob said he would "spoil" us and he certainly has done so. David, co-owner of Allied Lighting made a masterful whole house lighting plan for my Pacfic Northwest home. Having the showroom (unusual now) to demonstrate the different options was terrific. Six years later, a Lutron "fancy" switch has ceased to work. I contacted David who spent a lot of time helping me trouble shoot the problem. Lutron is now sending me a new switch-gratis. This is the best lighting fixture and design store I have ever been to. The owner gave us great personal service and was attentive to every detail. I have never met anyone so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about lighting. The showroom in the back is simply amazing. There is a bathroom, den, kitchen, dining room, bedroom and outdoor entry area that is set up to show you the different effects that can be achieved by using different light sources and arrangements. You can see the differences in effects between florescent, LED and CFL lights in the various areas of a house. Their selection is considerable, the store goes on and on. I am not sure that I saw all of it. I will certainly be going back. read more

Like the customer below, I had a horrible experience with Allied Lighting. They were all smiles and help until my check cleared and then when I had problems with the products they'd sold me, they were impossible to get on the phone or get any customer service from. I actually went into the store to confront them and try to get answers, but they told me to leave or they would have me removed from the store. Horrible customer service, just horrible. I brought in a 20+ year old wall sconce to them to fix (that other lighting stores didn't even really look at or try to fix), but not allied they took it and worked on fixing it and even though they unfortunately could not repair it I was so appreciative that they actually tried. Allied Lighting was recommended to my husband and me when we renovated our home and now, we would highly recommend them to anyone who needs a light bulb OR would like help purchasing a lamp/chandelier OR needs help with lighting design. David, one of the owners, came to our home for a lighting consultation and within a few days, he gave us a detailed layout of our home strategically placing all of the canned and decorative light fixtures throughout the house. Not only that, David told us about different lighting systems/components to help make the house function more smoothly and easily. Allied Lighting has done a few things around our house and their service has been excellent. They helped my husband set up everything on his smart phone so now he has certain lights coming on at sunset and off later, and can turn all of our lights on/off on his phone. He can even turn our outdoor fountain on and off with his phone. Very nice. read more
