The menu is solid, with good variety. I ordered the A La Crossing Benedict, side of gravy, lefse, side Norwegian potato cake, and peach ginger hot tea. I was thrilled to find the hot tea was loose leaf in a pot brought to the table. It's a lovely touch. The Benedict had perfectly crispy bacon and so much asparagus. The egg yolks were perfectly runny and the hollandaise had great flavor. I picked the house salad with champagne vinaigrette for the side and enjoyed that as well. I tried the gravy on some of the sourdough bread and it had a great flavor. The biscuits and gravy will probably be something I order next time because it was so good. When I read they season their sausage in-house I knew I had to try it even though I wanted the Benedict. The Norwegian Potato Cake was a delight! I love every take on a potato pancake or latke and this one had great flavor. The Lefse was a perfect treat to end- I had the traditional with just butter, sugar, and cinnamon. (I had leftovers of this and ate it at home with extra butter and a little syrup also.) This place is a gem and I am so glad I stumbled upon it!

I'm so thankful a little birdie told me about The Haverstick. This past year, I opened a business…read moredown the street in Nora. I don't have a traditional office, so I'm always looking for remote places to work. I love a change of scenery and environment. Over the past year or two, I've slowly faded out my visits to a certain popular coffee establishment with a name shared by a character on Battlestar Galactica. So, when a friend told me about The Haverstick, I needed to check it out! I'm so glad I did. It has become my go-to office of choice! Housed in a community center of a local church, the environment has dim lighting and soft music. A perfect place to get focused and stay focused. They have a coffee bar that also offers a few food options. The coffee is good and very affordable. The staff is always friendly. There is usually only one person staffing the coffee shop, but they get to your order quickly. You just may have to wait if there is a large group, as happened to me once. But no worries. Simply have a seat and get to work, and they will call your name when your beverage and/or food is ready to pickup. The Haverstick is less a coffee shop and more a community shared-space work environment that offers coffee. They have a lot of comfortable chairs and tables of various sizes. The room is wide open and you never feel crowded, even if there is a decent amount of people. However, it's usually only a handful of other people around, so it's a great place to get things done. They also have conference rooms for rent. I'm grateful this church has opened its doors to the public and offers such a wonderful and inviting atmosphere. I look forward to returning soon and getting some more work done.

You could even purchase some of that glimmer to make your life sparkle at home, granted for almost $40. I decided to stop in because I've pretty much tried every coffee shop in Hamilton County, and when I saw you could grab coffee to-go here, I knew I had to check it out since I've never been! I'm SO glad I did because this was easily one of the prettiest coffees I've had in the area, and the vibes were absolutely immaculate. The space was a little cramped, and it was somewhat tricky to tell who was waiting in line for goodies versus coffee, which made it feel a bit overstimulating. But the drink itself was sweet, delicious, and definitely worth the stop! I can't say it would be one of my frequent stops as I waited a decent amount of time for just a coffee, in a cramped area but was cool to see as I can't find myself making a reservation anytime soon after seeing the prices (sheesh to say the least!) It did seem like such a special spot in Carmel, IN, stepping into an entirely different world so I understand the hype, maybe one day I'll try the cake & food.

I…read moreeat my breakfast at 5 am so I'm always ready to eat my lunch well before the traditional lunch time. This place served me lunch at 10 am. And they were open on a Monday as well. I ordered the Turkey Club Sandwich with Chips for my side. They had a lot of choices for sides such as Pasta Salad, Fruit, Broccoli Salad, and Spinach Salad to name a few. The sandwich was excellent! I also ordered a Chocolate Chip Cookie for dessert. She warmed it up for me without my asking and it was delicious! I visited their one and only spacious restroom that was very clean, well stocked and pleasantly fragranced. Parking is plentiful in the shared lot of the strip shopping location. You can dine in at either their counter with 11 stools or at one of their three tables. High chairs and booster seats for the kiddos are available.

We ordered and took a seat (but you can sit and order as well). The staff is friendly and accommodating. Missy prepared our lunch and talked a bit about the owner's restaurant start. I had a bowl of the daily soup, which was Chicken Tortilla. The soup was hearty with lots of vegetables and tender chicken, but could have used a bit more spices. My husband had the Chicken Wrap ($12 daily special) with Asian Slaw. The wrap was good and the slaw sweet. The dining space is clean with stools and a few tables. There is a definite local feel with a personal touch in the cafe. Fun place, off the beaten path and worth a visit.
