I ordered the A La Crossing Benedict, side of gravy, lefse, side Norwegian potato cake, and peach ginger hot tea. I was thrilled to find the hot tea was loose leaf in a pot brought to the table. It's a lovely touch. The Benedict had perfectly crispy bacon and so much asparagus. The egg yolks were perfectly runny and the hollandaise had great flavor. I picked the house salad with champagne vinaigrette for the side and enjoyed that as well. I tried the gravy on some of the sourdough bread and it had a great flavor. The biscuits and gravy will probably be something I order next time because it was so good. When I read they season their sausage in-house I knew I had to try it even though I wanted the Benedict. The Norwegian Potato Cake was a delight! I love every take on a potato pancake or latke and this one had great flavor. The Lefse was a perfect treat to end- I had the traditional with just butter, sugar, and cinnamon. (I had leftovers of this and ate it at home with extra butter and a little syrup also.) This place is a gem and I am so glad I stumbled upon it!

Large mug, excellent froth and the coffee was rich and bold ! I ordered the half order of biscuits and gravy with 2 eggs on top. I enjoyed the food, flavor and richness of the gravy. The gravy was stocked with sausage crumbles which added the full flavor. The eggs were fried a tad harder than I desire but they were tasty and topped the meal well. The price was more expensive than I anticipated but not crazy. Ruth's is a little of a distance for me which is how I base my final rating. I liked it and will go again if I am in the area during their hours of operation. But I would not pass some equally good cafes closer to me. If you are in the keystone area I recommend you stop

I had heard firsthand that this cafe is dope, and I had read reviews that this cafe is dope, and I finally got to visit it myself today. You know what? For a hospital cafe, this place is pretty dope. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. I peeped what they had for breakfast: they have a "breakfast station" where you can scoop out your own breakfast foods onto a plate. Each item is a different price. For instance, scrambled eggs and breakfast potatoes are $1.29 per scoop, bacon is $0.89 per strip, biscuits are $1.09 per biscuit. Then you take your plate to the register, and you pay for all of your scoops and slices and individual things. Lunch begins at 11 a.m., at which time the deli counter opens, and you can get a made-to-order sandwich, panini or wrap. There is also a pizza station; a grill station with things like hot dogs (only $1.99!), cheeseburgers and potato wedges; and an entree station, where they have a special meal every day. On the day that I visited, it was salisbury steak. If you don't like any of those offerings, there's also a grab-and-go refrigerated area with food like parfaits, hard-boiled eggs, sushi, and microwavable meals like arroz con pollo, of all things. Carmel doesn't know how to be anything other than Carmel, and it shows in this hospital cafe. I shuffled into the cafe right when they changed over from breakfast to lunch, so I got a turkey sandwich on wheat bread. Sandwiches are served dry, no sauces, but there's a condiment area with mayonnaise and mustard (and ketchup, but why?). I don't know if it was because I was starving, but my turkey sandwich was great. It also cost $4.49! What in the every loving heck. Where can you get a hearty sandwich packed with multiple slices of turkey, tomato, red onion and lettuce for less than five bucks? And all of the condiments that you want, waiting for you at the condiment station! Whatta deal. The great prices at La Verna Cafe could account for the old timers I saw posted up at a big table in the cafe. They were all hanging out, enjoying food and coffee, but they didn't look like they were patients or waiting for a patient. They were there for a good couple of hours. I'm thinking they probably discovered a secret: La Verna Cafe is the place to visit if you want great food at an amazing price. I suppose it's also a cafe that you visit if you're at the hospital, too.

It's a "secret menu" sandwich that is phenomenal for $3.79 ! Grilled whole wheat, 3 slices each turkey & ham, 4 bacon strips, 2 cheddar, 2 provolone, tomato, lettuce, mayo. I should've skipped the chips as I'm stuffed. There wasn't a meal bundle price anyway. Although commonly people having medical care would be customers, but easy free parking should make it an anyone lunch if you work nearby.

I don't have a traditional office, so I'm always looking for remote places to work. I love a change of scenery and environment. Over the past year or two, I've slowly faded out my visits to a certain popular coffee establishment with a name shared by a character on Battlestar Galactica. So, when a friend told me about The Haverstick, I needed to check it out! I'm so glad I did. It has become my go-to office of choice! Housed in a community center of a local church, the environment has dim lighting and soft music. A perfect place to get focused and stay focused. They have a coffee bar that also offers a few food options. The coffee is good and very affordable. The staff is always friendly. There is usually only one person staffing the coffee shop, but they get to your order quickly. You just may have to wait if there is a large group, as happened to me once. But no worries. Simply have a seat and get to work, and they will call your name when your beverage and/or food is ready to pickup. The Haverstick is less a coffee shop and more a community shared-space work environment that offers coffee. They have a lot of comfortable chairs and tables of various sizes. The room is wide open and you never feel crowded, even if there is a decent amount of people. However, it's usually only a handful of other people around, so it's a great place to get things done. They also have conference rooms for rent. I'm grateful this church has opened its doors to the public and offers such a wonderful and inviting atmosphere. I look forward to returning soon and getting some more work done.

I love a good hot sauce on eggs and hash browns, so I decided to give it a try. I stopped in on a weekday morning, and it wasn't very busy. I was seated promptly at a booth, which was clean but I noticed the beverage menu was fairly grubby with spills and smudges. Definitely needed to be replaced. I ordered a combo with eggs over medium and hash browns. The server asked if I wanted my hash browns regular or extra crispy. I ordered them regular. My food was delivered very quickly, and I was pleased to see that my eggs were perfectly over medium. Too often my over medium eggs are either overcooked or undercooked but there were perfect. The hash browns were a nice golden brown, tasty, and very good around the edges but soft in the middle. I understand why some might order them extra crispy, which I would do next time. The hot sauce was indeed delicious and the sever mentioned that it was available for sale, only $5.99. Deal! I liked my food and loved the hot sauce, which perfectly complimented both the eggs and hash browns. I would return to try some of the other menu items. I also ordered cinnamon toast.

Rize truly stands out for its commitment to local partnerships, sourcing fresh ingredients from nearby growers, and you can absolutely taste the difference. Everything felt fresh, thoughtful, and well-executed. The space is clean, bright, and nicely decorated. Coffee was strong and flavorful (just how I like it). The salad that came with the omelet was next-level, with a light, citrusy dressing that balanced everything perfectly. The waffles were incredibly airy, soft, fluffy, and melt-in-your-mouth good.... And wow, the bacon was so good we ended up ordering another side. Despite the restaurant being packed, service was friendly, efficient, and never felt rushed.
