That's the only reason there's any stars at all. I'm sorry but I really need to review this class and Red Cross needs to not use this location until it can be fixed. (Anaheim LOCATION) They do not separate BLS from the regular CPR for civilians. And it was NOT good. There was not enough equipment for everyone (including the BLS professionals). It was extremely rushed. The children, infant and First Aid portion was rushed to the max. I have taken a how to on tourniquet before and it was not enough information given during this part. I'm a civilian and I'm not prepared even though I'm now technically certified. I literally need to retake. There was no skills review section for civilian which is concerning, doesn't Red Cross want certification to mean anything? My husbands class at another location had a skills review. And it wasn't rushed like this. The BLS test was being administered at the end when civilian video was going on. It was difficult to follow the video with the q & a from the BLS. Plus the stop start and not finishing parts of the video make it extra hard to follow. And I'm assuming taking a test with video blasting isn't great for the professionals. Note for content to Red Cross, why doesn't the anaphylaxis portion tell you to use the opposite leg for the second dose of epinephrine? That's basic information and as someone who carries epinephrine I'm actually angry Red Cross doesn't include that information?! It's literally dangerous. Don't include it at all if you can't do it properly. *Edited to add I did NOT sign up for the one that says combined. I signed up for this " ARC Adult Child and Infant CPR AED and First Aid Full Class". No BLS mentioned.

Things I liked: Your child will SWIM. I think my kids legs…read morefelt like rubber the first day because the philosophy here in both the intermediate and advanced is to just keep swimming! The pool is huge and the instructors send them back and forth over and over! Endurance seems to be the main philosophy. Some of the instructors are very engaging, overall everyone is pretty friendly! Things I noticed Safety is not a huge priority. There is no one on deck keeping an eye out for things the instructors may miss. The first day of class, and multiple after, my kids instructor walked into the building telling the other instructor of the other class to "keep an eye" to which he just kind of laughed and went back to the class he was teaching. Meanwhile she had 4 swimmers in the pool in other lanes behind and the instructor of the other class was faced away from them the entire time. That was my 7 year olds first or second day in the class. I had seen this sort of thing a lot, their instructor would chat with a students mom who was seated in the upper level, she'd face away from the students and just chat. By the 4th class I was ready to let the office know, but then the owner came outside, and held a conversation with the instructor the same way, her back away from the swimmers. My swimmer had been introduced to all of the strokes but I enrolled him to improve his form. He'd taken other classes where there was an emphasis on that. What I found is that there is very little instruction in the advanced class, the students are sent on back and forth several times but only upon request will they be critiqued or given better techniques. It is more like someone standing there somewhat keeping an eye on them and telling them to swim 400 or what not. At one point they had the owner, and at another, her husband and like I mentioned at another point, the other instructor in the other class, "take over" with instructions like "they're doing kickbaord" or "have them do bla" They are not very organized. First day of class the instructor was 5 minutes late. After that the advanced class had multiple people take over. The intermediate class had a lot more consistency, but one of the days Alexis (she did a great job) had to ask the owners husband where her secondary was. She came out a few minutes later , while the class was sorta on hold Things I'm not sure on: The young kids aren't taught to rest float. I've liked other places teach this, in the case that the child knows how to swim but doesn't have energy to get back to shore, or the edge of a pool for whatever reason. I once almost drowned as a kid in a pool right in the middle, I had slowly but surely run out of energy and not noticed til I couldn't keep my head above water. My brother pushed me to the edge. That being said, the rest float is a hard position to get into, so I kinda understand why they don't teach it‍ Overall, i think my kids are stronger swimmers and I'd possibly come back next summer since I trust my kids and I'm keeping an eye the entire time. Its $35 for 30 minutes (so 8 classes comes out to $280) Alexis was very encouraging in the intermediate class and each of the intermediate instructors really pushed the kids, and encouraged them, which I really appreciated:) oh and one more thing, I loved that at the intermediate level, there are two instructors to 4 students! That's a really nice ratio

I LOVED the class. Trevor was an excellent instructor with a wealth of knowledge and experience. His lighthearted humor was appropriately placed within the lighter moments of the training and his profound passion for the lives of others was abundantly transparent and clearly expressed within the more important areas of the training. Trevor gave great examples throughout the training and even elevated the experience by giving further insight into the rhymes and reasons of why certain procedures and processes were valuable to our "patients" and their survival. Most CPR trainings that I have attended have felt very awkward and stiff, which not only makes it difficult to stay awake but also a little more likely for me to tune out of the areas where there is more lecturing than training. Having said that, I can't express enough how much I truly and completely appreciated Trevor's teaching/training style. The class was very hands on and VERY informative. I am a nurse and I needed a last minute ACLS/PALS certification for my job especially since my last ACLS class flaked on me. Life Saving Certified was one of the first places that I contacted, because of how close it is to where I live. Trevor returned my class within 5 minutes and had me signed up for both an ACLS and a PALS class within 20 minutes. Their online website has a lot of options available to ensure that providers take the initial or renewal class of their choosing. Finally, their classes are taught at your pace and ensure that you understand the material before you leave for the day. My instructor for both my classes was Kriss. She was patient, knowledgeable, and understanding throughout the entire class session. 10/10 would take take another class with Life Saving Certified. My ACLS expired in November and my employer alerted me three days prior to the end of the month. Thing is... Thanksgiving really made it hard to find a class before the month was over. Thank goodness that this company was willing to offer classes before the close of the month!! Instead of shopping on Black Friday, Kriss was there to offer both the ACLS and BLS combo. Although my ACLS expired next year, it's hard to keep track of both so I was excited to see a combo class. I got my eCards the same day Prices are pretty competitive, and they responded very quickly to my questions via FB messenger. Arrive a little bit early because it's a little easy to get lost in that complex. And bring a jacket, it was freezing due to the type of building it was in. I had to renew my certification by August for an EMT program and I am glad to have found such an awesome class to do it through. Trevor is not only knowledgeable but experienced. I feel 100% satisfied with my certification. There was also an issue with scheduling and I could not make it out to a different location he was more than helpful with making it work. He answers any questions you might have and is very good and explaining things and helping you understand the importance of CPR and why things are done as they are. Needed to renew my BLS for providers. I signed up for a class on the AHA website, the next day Trevor the owner called me to notify me the class I had reserved a spot in was canceled due to the EMT running the class having to work. He was able to get me into a class within 2 days. They start quickly get through the info, get to hands on skills and then give the test. I was in and out in about 2 1/2 hours. I got my card same day(though it's now an E-card rather than a physical one.) They offer drinks and snacks and are super friendly. So many of these classes are given by people with book-only knowledge. This was by far the BEST training I've received for CPR and AED! Trevor was a fantastic instructor with tons of knowledge and patience (we had a lot of "What-if" questions). It was awesome to receive training from a Firefighter/First Responder who had real life experience. Given the seriousness of the topic, it was refreshing how he would periodically lighten things up with humor. This class was the most streamlined way to get my certifications and it was in a setting, that felt comfortable, informative, playful, and filled with expertise. These classes (advanced cardiac life support and pediatric advanced life support), are packed with incredibly detailed and pertinent information, but the instructor Trevor did a fantastic job of making this mountain to climb into a joyride. I scheduled a class over their web site, and due to an error, I was placed in a private group at a university and was unable to attend. Trevor was great! As someone who has taken multiple CPR courses I would say this has been the best so far. His humor made time fly and I learned so much! Finding the building was a little hard for me because I kind of suck at driving but I appreciated the signs in the parking lot that were out there to help me find the building. Frank was super nice and made the class interesting. Even the chairs were super comfortable and I appreciated that when I missed a few questions on the test he went over what I got wrong and why they were wrong. The Instructors here always go above and beyond making sure I know all AHA guidelines and how to apply it in real life and locally. Instructors have experience from all aspects of ACLS, PALS, and BLS, unlike those who have worked in hospitals and can delegate certain airway issues to respiratory therapists. I needed a same day certification for the American Heart Saver First Aid/CPR/AED card and Life Saving Certified was the best value. Almost half the price of the Red Cross option for the same skills. I attended the class in Riverside and although I was the only student booked in the course the instructor didn't cancel the class and provided one on one training for me. the instructor is fun & engaging , is extremely knowledgeable , open to questions, and knows how to pace the class to make the instruction easily digestible. the process is smooth & seamless as you transition between modules id adult , infant , and child instruction of the BLS . additionally the license was given right after the class was over & the instructor staued behind for any questions that needed clarification. read more

Wanted to write a review because in researching EMT schools, one might be put off by some of the negative reviews here. Like a lot of things, there may be some kernals of truth in them. For example, it is true if you take the online course, it's up to you to be self-disciplined and put in the work. I admit when I first started, I completed several chapters right away, but then life happened, and I paused for several months before coming back to finish the class. However, this is the same as real life: when you go to the gym or have to complete continuing education hours on your own, you won't necessarily have someone reminding you or motivating you. No one is going to be as invested in your future as you. I saw some other people say they have issues with communications. It's true that there have been some times I've had to wait a few days to get and email or phone call back, but how is that different for a lot of other cases. When you are applying to Fire Departments or EMT companies, you have to be the one to 'hurry up and wait,' be able to have some patience, and be able to respectfully and politely follow-up as needed. Finally, in regards to the NREMT, I studied the course material very hard, used third-party websites and apps to prep for the NREMT, and the exam was different from both the course and the other tools I used. In fact, it was the psychomotor exams that SoCal EMT used that were surprisingly very helpful: you have to memorize a very specific order and way of doing things per SoCal EMT and NREMT, and that helped me in my exam very much. Out of everything I learned, I think I'll be relying on their psychomotor scenarios the most in the field. On another positive note, SoCal EMT worked for me, as someone who is older with life responsiblities and a job. I didn't have time to go into an in-person class at a set time every few days (and potentially fail a whole course for missing one class or being late), and SoCal EMT gave me the opportunity to study for the EMT on my own time and my own pace, and set me up for success to pass the NREMT. And it doesn't hurt that they have reasonable fees; other California online or hybrid courses I see are easily double or triple what SoCal EMT charges, and in today's economy, I think we all need all the help we can get.

this place is a scam! i paid my $250 deposit. i was waiting…read moreand waiting for my course log in- within 24 hours. obviously that never came. i tried calling and they blocked me! i called off a *67 (private number) phone number- which went through- which tells me my personal number was blocked. i have also came to the location, to which the doors were locked. i cannot stress this enough- RUN. unless you want to waste $250.
