Delicious food! Just wish the portions were a tad bigger. It would also be nice to have different choice of a side then white bread, perhaps fruit or vegetables. The staff are super friendly and gave us hibiscus drink to try that was refreshingly tart and sweet. I had the harvest lentil bowl which was perfect. I also tried the coffee, which was so creamy, not too sweet, and packed with nice complimenting flavors and textures of coconut and cinnamon bark. I also tried the green smoothie, which was more of a juice consistency, which I liked, and not too sweet which was great. It was very refreshing. It was such a fun and lovely experience eating here and I'll definitely be going back the next time I'm in Tulum.

Liefs popped up repeatedly so naturally we went during our Tulum trip. We got the BBQ Jackfruit sandwich, a taco, and the power bowl! Oh-- and a green smoothie. Everything was packed with flavor, filling, and healthy! Usually when we travel we eat horrible because of all the vegan junk food places that we don't typically have back home, but this was perfect. My favorite was the BBQ jackfruit sandwich. The outdoor seating is in a shaded area where it is nice and comfy-- and the menu has something to suit everyone's tastebuds. We also got the mini crepes that actually resembled silver dollar pancakes covered in chocolate, strawberries, and bananas. Try them out! They will not disappoint-- the owners are attentive and have a vibrant personality!

A vegan spot this hoppin always gets our 5 stars! It's an outdoor food van with an array of options that are served throughout the day. We stopped by for a late lunch and opted for the Bounty Bowl and Better Than A Burger. We also had the cold brew and a lime tea. Because we enjoyed the fare so much we took the Brunch bagel to go. All three were delicious! Just because I was in the mood for hummus, avocado and bread (3 of my favorite things) the brunch bagel was my fav!

I wish I can give more than a 5 star review! Food is out of control wonderful, great portions, friendly owner, and amazing juices! We tried nearly every juice we could. I had a spicy pineapple mango juice and it was amazing! We also ended up getting a lemon juice with ginger. For our meals we had the shroom sandwich and the "perk" burger. Guys, amazing. Amazing!!! In the end of our meals, we decided we had to eat dessert, so naturally we did. The crepes are TO DIE FOR! Prices are amazing for the food. Must go!

    Friendly and thoughtful service

Treat yourself to the gastronomic and guilt-free vegan delights at Liefs! This welcoming, happy-vibe gourmet food truck embodies the charming warmth that draws many to Tulum. From the moment we arrived, the staff and owner were friendly and full of smiles, we had so much fun chatting we nearly forgot that we were hungry.   We enjoyed reading the origin story of Liefs from their menu and then perusing the sumptuous options for authentic local inspired food listed on the opposite page (photos included in review).   My wife and I started off with some delicious mezcal (400 Conejos) to toast in celebration for having found Liefs. It was exactly what we were looking for - something romantic and peaceful - away from the noisy and often overpriced places in the Tulum resort area.   I ordered the generously portioned Taco Tubito, and it was an artfully crafted nom. The perfect starter to tempt me for more.   My wife, ever the tasteful hedonist, started with the Bomb Banana Bread (dessert). The home-baked bread was moist, fresh and not too sweet, with all the ingredients obviously present and balanced.   I then followed with the Smokey Shroom Sandwich. Not exaggerating here, it was the best mushroom sandwich I have ever eaten. The sandwich was top quality comfort food with excellent flavor and texture. Even the chips were amazing. Unsurprisingly, it was also the menu favorite of the owner!   I would unquestionably return to Liefs for another meal at any time of the day, and expect that everything will be just as exceptional. Thank you Thomas and Femke for creating such a magical place, and sharing in the experience of Tulum with us!

Make sure to make a reservation in advance, especially for Thursday through the weekend. We visited at 8:30 and we felt like it was the perfect time because a lot of the performances began around nine. The service is top-notch. From putting the napkin in your lap to arranging a miniature coat rack to hang your jacket, they pay attention to detail. Not to mention, though the atmosphere takes priority here, the food was also very good. We ordered a steak and the shrimp risotto. The shrimp were colossal. I have never seen shrimp so big. Most of their specialty cocktails are quite acidic and that night I was craving whiskey so I ordered an old-fashioned and it was also very good. I would say this spot in particular is well known for big groups and bachelorette dinners. It is quite loud, so keep that in mind. It's also in line with other nice restaurants in Tulum regarding price, but we felt it was worth it. Lastly, make a note that they charge for water so you're not surprised when you get the bill.

Memorable? Even more so. Great atmosphere, great service, and legitimately great food to back it up. We laughed, ate way too much, and left buzzing from the whole experience. They start you off with a complimentary piece of toast with some vegetable chunks. Each of us got a quarter of a piece of dry white bread that I would pass on in the future but the vegetables paired with it had decent flavor. I got the passion fire as my drink and very much enjoyed it. It was sweet and refreshing with just the right amount of heat. 9/10. For appetizers my group split the duck tartlet with pink mole, the sweet potato agrodolce, and the hamachi tiradito. The duck was well cooked and tender but lacking in flavor. The pink mole wasn't adding much to the dish other than creaminess. The tart shell was awful. It was thick and dry and reminiscent of a premade store bought tart shell. 5/10. The sweet potato agrodolce was good, the sweet potato and squash ribbons had a nice firm texture and snap but all of the flavor came from the yogurt sauce that they were sitting on. 7/10. The hamachi tiradito was my favorite of the apps. The fish was fresh and light, the flavors were interesting with the combination of the sweet banana vinaigrette, the salty umami ponzu, and the sweet tangy mango, chili, cucumber salsa. This dish was the best of the night, 8/10. For mains we split the catch of the day, which was red snapper, and the broken beet. The fish was underwhelming, being a bit overcooked and dry. The sauce it was drenched in helped with the dryness but didn't lend much flavor. The yuca chips were a nice addition, adding a nice crunch to contrast the soft textures of the fish and sauce but again, not lending much in flavor. Chips could have been salted. 6/10. The beets were cooked well, they were soft and tender and paired nicely with the sour cream, turmeric oil, and salad. The turmeric oil added acidity, the salad added freshness and also acidity from the dressing it had, and the sour cream added a nice creaminess and tangy. These flavors offset the richness of the beets nicely. My second favorite dish, 8/10. For dessert we went with the "corn," which was a cake shaped like a corn cob with a chopped nut center and what I think was real corn kernels across the exterior, paired with a corn ice cream. Overall a solid dessert, the chopped nuts added a nice crunch however the cake as a whole was a bit dry. The ice cream added some needed moisture and paired nicely with the cake, though the texture was a bit icy, more like a corn sorbet than a corn ice cream. 6/10. Overall a good experience but with its high prices and small portions I wouldn't go back. The apps were on average between $20-$30 usd, with mains being between $25-$50 usd, and dessert $20 usd.
